Chapter 32 I want to change Doctors!
Gerald looked surprised, but he quickly regained his composure.
"So it's true? You're a werewolf?" Jennifer pressed him again.
Gerald took Jennifer's hand and placed it on his thigh, holding it gently. He played with her soft fingers before finally looking up at her.
"How did you know? And do you believe it?" Gerald tried to smile, even though his heart was beating very fast at that moment.
'Has Jennifer remembered something about me? Has some of her memory returned? If so, then I'm very happy!'
Jennifer pulled her hand away and shook her head, "Dr. Moore told me! He said Alex is a werewolf and needs special care. What does that mean? And if what you say is true... Alex's father is actually you, isn't he? So I concluded that you must be a werewolf! But I don't believe it at all! There are no werewolves in this world, right? This is the real world, not a story from a film I’ve seen about werewolves or anything else! I don’t believe it!”
Jennifer turned her body away, crossing her arms.
Gerald sighed repeatedly. ‘It turns out she hasn’t remembered anything at all! I thought… she remembered something! So it was Dr Moore who said it? Why did Dr. Moore say something like that? Didn't I warn him not to say anything before Jennifer remembered herself? Did he forget?'
"If you don't believe me, then why are you asking me? Whatever I say, you won't believe it anyway, right?" Gerald stood up, took a drink of water, and drank it quickly. Suddenly, his throat felt dry.
Jennifer followed Gerald's movements and stood up.
"I'm just confirming something. Do you think Dr. Moore has gone mad?" Jennifer asked Gerald curiously.
Gerald spit out his water, luckily only hitting the wall and not his clothes.
"Ahem! Ahem! What did you say?" Gerald turned around, coughing slightly.
"What's wrong with you? Why did you drink so much that you choked like that? Look, your clothes are a little wet! Wait there!" Jennifer went to the bathroom and took a small towel, and carefully began to clean Gerald's clothes. Gerald could only stare at her. Jennifer then turned to Gerald's mouth and touched it gently, cleaning the remaining water from Gerald's mouth. Gerald looked at Jennifer awkwardly and held her hand.
"L-let me do it!" Gerald exclaimed.
"Okay! You're like a little kid! You spilled your drink! Here, clean up the rest!" Jennifer handed him the towel she was holding.
Gerald wiped the remaining water from his lips while staring at Jennifer, who turned back to sit down.
'Damn! Why am I so nervous? She's my wife! I can do whatever I want, right? But she doesn't remember who I am and our relationship... Besides, I promised earlier not to kiss her while we were talking! Ah, damn it!' Gerald thought to himself in annoyance.
"Are you done asking questions?" Gerald suddenly had a brilliant idea.
"No! Not yet!" Jennifer exclaimed again, crossing her legs.
Gerald hung his head dejectedly and threw the towel carelessly into the bin.
"Hey! What are you doing? Why did you throw it away? It's still new..." Jennifer exclaimed, looking strangely at Gerald, who was walking dejectedly towards her.
"It's not new anymore! I've used it! So it's better to throw it away! I can buy a hundred or a thousand towels like that if you want!" Gerald sat back down next to Jennifer, annoyed.
"Ugh! Rich people! It can still be washed! No need to throw it away, right?" Jennifer turned her face away in annoyance.
"It's up to me! What serious matter do you want to discuss again, besides the towel, huh? Do you consider the towel issue to be a serious matter?" Gerald grew increasingly annoyed because Jennifer was just beating around the bush.
‘Why does he look so annoyed? Is he really angry just because I reminded him about the towel? Ah, this guy, he gets offended so easily!’ Jennifer glanced at Gerald surreptitiously.
"Don't steal glances! I know I'm handsome! No need to stare at me like that, you'll be seeing me more often every day anyway! So hurry up and say it! What else do you want to discuss with me, besides that damn towel issue!" Gerald crossed his arms without turning his head.
"What? Every day? Ah, yes, I forgot I'm your employee! Hehehe... besides, who was stealing glances at you or admiring your good looks? You're too confident, Mr Williams! I'm just confused as to whether you were offended by what I said earlier? You seem upset," exclaimed Jennifer, her cheeks reddening as she tried to hide her embarrassment at being caught stealing glances.
"Well, you remember! You're my employee! My secretary! I'm not upset! Come on, quickly tell me what else you want to ask me?"
"Hmm... Doctor Moore said Alex needs special care? Is that true? What kind of care?" asked Jennifer.
Gerald sighed again, "That's right! A bath! You'll find out the details after we get home from here today! We can't stay here long, can we? I have a lot of work piling up at the office! And you... as my new secretary, you have to help me! But let's make sure first whether Alex can go home today or not!"
"Bathing? What do you mean? But you're right... I have to start working too, Alex needs a lot of money for his schooling!" Jennifer looked down, playing with her hair.
Gerald took Jennifer's hand again, "You don't need to worry about Alex's expenses and your needs! I'll take care of it! It's my duty as his father! As for Alex's care, you'll find out later!"
Jennifer turned to Gerald, "Thank you, I'm lucky to be carrying your child even though it was a mistake! At least you're a good father! But for my living expenses... I can take care of them myself! Okay?"
Gerald looked at Jennifer with a hint of anger.
"Whatever! But I'll still do it for you too. If you don't like my help, you can throw it away! I don't care!" Gerald said bluntly.
'Why is he angry again? Did I say something wrong again? It doesn't seem like it! He doesn't have to take care of me, does he? Because I'm not his wife. I just happen to be the mother of his child! What was wrong with what I said? Gerald is really difficult to deal with! His arrogant, dominant personality, always wanting to control people, is too strong!'
"Why are you silent? Is there nothing else you need to ask or discuss?" This time Gerald was impatient.
"Eh, that... there is! John and Doctor Moore said... you're injured? And your old illness has returned, meaning it often recurs, right? And how did you get that injury? Because I don't see any injuries on your body! You look like any other healthy man! Is your illness incurable? Jhon said... they're still doing research?" Jennifer looked curious and worried.
"Yes, it still flares up often! Since I first got this wound six years ago... It's a long story! Someday I'll tell you where I got the wound! And you're right, my wound could heal... but... it seems like it still needs a little more time. I hope it's soon!" Never mind! Don’t worry about my condition right now… is there anything else you want to say?” Gerald said again.
Jennifer nodded, “I want to change doctors and hospitals! I don’t wan
t Dr. Moore to treat Alex! Is that possible?”
“What? Why? What’s the reason?”
