Chapter 31 Are You Really a Werewolf?
Jennifer looked at John with a curious gaze and repeated her question.
"Why are you just standing there, John? Continue your story! What can heal Gerald?" Jennifer urged.
John fell silent again, his heart heavy with the burden of telling her, as Alpha Gerald had instructed him not to reveal anything until Jennifer's memories were fully restored. However, John's heart could not bear to witness the suffering of his Alpha over the years. And now that Jenny or Jennifer had returned, everything should be fine, and they could be a couple again. Alpha and The Luna of Blackstone.
Alpha Gerald needed his Luna as his healer, and Jennifer needed Alpha Gerald as her protector. ‘They should be able to be together again, but… It’s such a pity that Luna has lost all her previous memories. If he forces her, will it worsen her memory? Or will it trigger her memory to recover? Ah, what should I do? Oh, Moon Goddess… please help me!’
John remained silent, frozen in place.
Jennifer waved her hand in front of John's face, trying to snap him out of his deep thoughts.
"Hello? John? Are you listening to me?"
John snapped out of his reverie, stammering, “Ah, yes, of course, My Luna! I mean, Mrs Ross! What did you say just now?”
Jennifer sighed in exasperation. “I said… What can cure your master, Mr Williams! Don’t make me repeat it for the third time! What are you really hiding, huh? Isn't that a simple question? But it seems very difficult for you to answer!"
"Ah, it's not like that, Mrs Ross, it's just... we're not too sure what can make Mr Williams return to his former self! So we're still doing research!" John finally chose to lie; he didn't dare tell the truth because of Jennifer's current condition.
Jennifer frowned suspiciously, "Really? But earlier... Doctor Moore seemed to say something? You have to give him the medicine right away, right? I vaguely heard him say that to you! Are you lying now, John?"
John was surprised again, wondering how Jennifer could hear Doctor Moore's very soft words before he left.
'Could she have heard it? Impossible! Doctor Moore whispered very softly just now! Unless... her wolf abilities have returned! But... Ah, I don't know!'
As Jennifer and John were lost in their own thoughts, John's mobile phone rang.
Ring!!!
"Sorry, ma'am, I have to take this call! It seems to be very important! It's from... the office!" John breathed a sigh of relief because he was saved by his mobile phone.
Jennifer could only frown and say, "Well, answer it!"
John hurriedly moved to the corner to answer the ringing call on his mobile phone.
"WHAT? All right! I'll be right back! You wait there!" John exclaimed as he hung up the phone.
John returned to Jennifer with a worried and tense expression on his face.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Ross, I have to go! Something happened at the office! And I have to take care of it immediately because Alpha Gerald... I mean, Mr. Williams is still unconscious, so... I have to represent him! I'm sorry, I'm leaving Mr Williams in your care, Madam! I'll also add more people to guard you here! I have to go now...!" John saluted and then quickly turned and ran out of the room.
"Hey! What... happened...?" Jennifer was silent because John had already left and disappeared.
“What’s going on? Why did John look so tense after receiving the call? And… Why did he add more guards? Aren’t there already some here? Ah, this is so confusing!” Jennifer shook her head.
Jennifer looked back at Gerald, holding his hand warmly, “Gerald! Wake up quickly! I’m confused and getting more and more scared here!”
Jennifer kept chattering nonsensically until she was exhausted and lifted Gerald's hand to her cheek.
"Oagh!! I'm so sleepy... maybe it's okay to rest for a while..." Jennifer lay her head on Gerald's bedside and began to fall asleep.
While Jennifer was asleep, Gerald woke up. Gerald smiled as he watched Jennifer sleeping in his bed while holding his hand.
With his free hand, Gerald gently stroked Jennifer's head.
'I'm sorry! I've added to your burden! You must be very worried about me, right? Ah, Jenny, when will your memory return? All of this is very difficult for me! I miss you so much! There are so many things I want to ask you! Why did you leave that night? Why? Disappearing for six years with a puppy in your belly! If only I hadn't been injured and forced to hide for two years, building up my strength until I became successful and respected by the other packs like I am now, and also trying to heal myself... I could have found you sooner! When I finally found you... you... Forgot everything! I need you... Jenny! Come back to me quickly... My Luna!"
Jennifer stirred in her sleep and then slowly opened her eyes.
Jennifer hurriedly sat up, “Gerald? You’re awake? Let me call Doctor Moore!”
Gerald grabbed Jennifer’s hand and shook his head, “No need! I’m fine! Are you worried about me?”
Jennifer looked nervous and embarrassed as she looked down at her own feet, "No... no!"
Gerald pulled the corners of his lips up slightly into a smile.
"Really?" Gerald teased again.
"Really! Never mind! Because you look fine now! It seems like what they said earlier was wrong! I think you're just tired!" exclaimed Jennifer, trying to free herself from Gerald's grip.
Unexpectedly, Gerald jerked her towards him, causing Jennifer to fall into Gerald's lap. Gerald hugged her tightly. Jennifer's face was now below his.
Gerald kissed Jennifer's ear softly, making Jennifer surprised and tickled at the same time, the hairs on her neck standing up because Gerald's kiss hit one of her sensitive spots.
"Gerald... What are you trying to do? Don't do this! This is a hospital! And..." Jennifer tried to hold Gerald's chest so he wouldn't get too close to her.
Gerald frowned, "Why are you embarrassed now? Isn't it a little too late for that? We've already done more than this... yesterday..."
Jennifer quickly covered Gerald's mouth and glared at him. "How many times have I told you! Don't mention that again!"
"Are you embarrassed?" Gerald asked slowly, lowering Jennifer's hand.
"Of course... I'm embarrassed! Unlike you, who has no shame!" Jennifer sneered.
Gerald smiled, "Don't you ever pout like that in front of other people again, or in front of me! Unless you want me to kiss you brutally!"
Jennifer reflexively covered her mouth, and Gerald laughed at her. After he had finished laughing, Gerald smiled again, "I'm just kidding!"
Jennifer, who was annoyed, pulled herself away from Gerald's embrace and stood up straight.
"Well, I'm not! And since you seem to be in good condition, it looks like we need to have a serious talk this time, Gerald! I have something to ask you!" Jennifer stared intently at Gerald.
Gerald slowly got up from his bed and walked slowly towards a sofa, sitting down with his legs crossed.
"Sit down! What do you want to talk about?" Gerald patted the sofa next to him.
Jennifer seemed hesitant; she had to keep her distance so that Gerald wouldn't keep kissing her.
Awkwardly, Jennifer sat a little far from Gerald.
Gerald looked displeased, "Why are you sitting so far away? Come here! I promise I won't kiss you if that's what you're afraid of!"
"Promise? While we're talking, don't try to kiss me, okay?" Jennifer looked at him uncertainly.
"Come here! Come closer!" Gerald ordered.
Hesitantly, Jennifer moved closer again.
“So, what do you want to ask?” Gerald looked at Jennifer gently.
“I… want to ask, is it true… that you’re a werewolf?”
