Chapter 30 Who Can Heal Alpha Gerald is...
Doctor Moore turned to Jennifer, who looked shocked.
"You look shocked, madam. Hasn't Alpha Gerald told you everything?" Doctor Moore asked again.
Nervously and firmly, Jennifer shook her head. Jennifer's face looked pale.
"No, Doctor! Wait a minute, what do you mean by Werewolf? Werewolf? Are you joking with me, Doctor? Alex is a descendant of Werewolves? That means... it means... Gerald... Gerald... is also... a Werewolf?" Jennifer hoped that what she heard and even what she said was a mistake.
Dr Moore looked at Jennifer, 'So this woman doesn't know? And Alpha Gerald is hiding it? He hasn't told her everything? Ah, I seem to have misjudged the situation! I thought she knew! It turns out...'
Dr Moore took a breath and tried to think of what to say.
Jennifer grew increasingly anxious seeing Doctor Moore remain silent.
"So the sperm I received, the insemination... was the sperm of a werewolf?" Jennifer asked again because Doctor Moore did not seem to respond.
Doctor Moore frowned as he pondered and thought to himself, 'Sperm? Insemination? What is she talking about? Don’t they do it the natural way, through marriage? Ah, I forgot… it seems Mrs. Ross’s memory hasn’t returned yet, and she doesn’t know she’s also a werewolf? Even Luna from Alpha Gerald? So Alpha Gerald chose this path so his wife would believe it? Goodness, Alpha…! To avoid ruining everything, I’d better just play along with Alpha Gerald’s game!’
Dr. Moore just nodded, “That’s possible, Madam! You’d better ask Mr. Williams for clarification on this matter! I think….”
CRASH!!
"Doctor Moore! Help Alpha Gerald, I mean Mr Williams!" Suddenly, someone burst in, carrying Gerald.
Doctor Moore turned and saw Alpha Gerald looking unconscious.
"What happened? Why is he unconscious? Lay him down there!" Doctor Moore looked panicked and asked for Alpha Gerald to be laid down on a bed next to Alex, a bed that had been deliberately prepared in this VVIP room at Gerald's own request.
"It seems, Doctor... his illness has relapsed!" John looked panicked as he explained to Doctor Moore.
"All right! I'll check on him in a moment! Please tell the nurse or my assistant to bring the medicine I requested! Special medicine for Alpha Gerald.
Meanwhile, Jennifer looked confused by this sudden turn of events. Still reeling from the shock of discovering that her son was a werewolf, she was further shocked by the fact that Gerald had fainted.
'What is this? What's wrong with Gerald? They said... his illness had relapsed? What illness? Didn't he seem perfectly healthy before?'
John looked like he wanted to run out again, but Jennifer held his hand.
"John! What's wrong? What's wrong with Gerald? What illness were you talking about earlier?"
John turned and looked at Jennifer as if considering something.
"I'm sorry, Mrs Ross, I can't explain it now! The important thing is that it's not the illness you think it is! The important thing right now is... I have to carry out Doctor Moore's orders! To save Alpha Gerald, I mean Mr Williams! Excuse me, ma'am!" John bowed respectfully.
Jennifer released her grip, "Ah, alright! Go on, John!"
John bowed slightly again before darting out to call Doctor Moore's assistant and several nurses.
Meanwhile, Jennifer paced back and forth, looking anxious as she watched Gerald being treated by Doctor Moore.
Alex, who had witnessed his dad fainting, also looked anxious. "Mum, is... is Dad okay? He's not going to die, is he, Mum?"
Jennifer remembered Alex, her son, who was still lying weakly. She approached Alex's basket and held his hand. "Of course not! Don't say such things! He... you saw it yourself, didn't you? John said... this is... a common illness! He'll be fine! Why did you say that, son?"
"B-because I overheard what they were thinking, Mum! They said... Daddy... if he's not treated soon... then... then..." Alex held back his tears.
Jennifer covered Alex's mouth with her index finger, "Calm down! Be sure nothing will happen to your Daddy, he's strong! Too strong, I think! He won't collapse that easily!"
Alex wiped away a few tears, "I know, Mum! Of course! I forgot that he... he's an Alpha! He's strong!"
Jennifer frowned, "Alpha? What do you mean? Do you know something?"
Alex covered his mouth. Martha had told him and asked him to keep the truth about his father a secret.
"I don't know what it means! But that's what they always call Daddy, Mum! What does Alpha mean, Mum?" Alex pretended to ask.
Jennifer shook her head, "I don't understand either, son! But they always respect him like a leader? So I guess... Alpha means leader!"
"Maybe you're right, Mum!" Alex just smiled wryly.
'It seems like his mummy doesn't know anything about his daddy! That his daddy seems to be a leader or Alpha of the Blackstone pack!'
So Alex chose to remain silent so that his mummy wouldn't be shocked again.
Not long after, John appeared with several people who seemed to be Dr. Moore's assistants.
Jennifer stood up and panicked again. They took a long time to treat Gerald, and even Alex unconsciously fell asleep again due to the effects of the medicine Dr. Moore had given him and his still-weak physical condition.
Not long after, Doctor Moore finished treating Gerald.
“Ah! Finally done! Let him rest for a while! I have given him the painkiller I have been developing all this time! But this medicine is only temporary... I'm not sure how long Alpha Gerald, I mean Mr. William, will last!” Doctor Moore looked at John and Jennifer.
"Thank you, Doctor Moore! Fortunately, Alpha Gerald's relapse this time wasn't too severe, and luckily, he was in the hospital when you were here!" said John.
"No problem, that's my job! But... hmm... You have to find the real medicine soon." Doctor Moore looked at John as if giving him a code.
"I know, Doctor! We're working on it!" John exclaimed, glancing at Jennifer.
"Better hurry! There's not much time left!" Dr Moore exclaimed, patting John on the shoulder and whispering in Beta John's ear.
John could only nod.
"All right! It seems like today has been exhausting for everyone! Let them rest peacefully tonight. I'll come back to check on them both tomorrow morning! If there are no problems... then... You can go home!" exclaimed Doctor Moore, about to leave the room.
Jennifer was about to ask a question, but John signalled her to stop by shaking his head. "I'm sorry, Mrs Ross, I know you have a lot of questions in your head right now! But can we postpone them? Today has been really tiring for all of us, especially Doctor Moore! I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous!"
John looked at Jennifer hopefully. Jennifer sighed heavily as she watched Doctor Moore leave and slowly walked towards the bed where Gerald was lying.
"All right! Just for today! Tomorrow I need an explanation from you, John! What's really going on?"
Jennifer looked at Gerald, who seemed to be asleep, and held his hand. 'What really happened to you? Why did a man as strong as you collapse and seem to endure the pain until you fainted?'
Jennifer looked back at John and said, “Does this happen often, John? Is it painful for him, John?”
John looked at his Alpha with a sad expression, “Yes. For the past six years, he’s been enduring it alone… he was also the one who asked Dr. Moore to research to heal his wounds! But it was in vain… because… the medicine Dr. Moore gave him was only temporary. What could heal him was…!"
John paused for a moment, hesitant. Jennifer looked at John again and asked impatiently.
"What could heal him, John? Why did you stop?”
