Chapter 239 – Moon Goddess

Chapter 239 – Moon Goddess

Liora

Its was already a year and two moons after Lucian’s death.

Time had passed in a blur.

They said.. Time, healed everything. I agreed.

Because Silvermoon had fully healed as if nothing happened. Aside from the dead ones.

But sometimes, I wondered if we forgot or we only learned to walk with the pain instead of erasing it. Make it a part of us.

The SilverMoon pack had changed. In more positive and beautiful way than before.

Peace and harmony. Even the air smelled cleaner, lighter.

Pack members no longer whisper in fear, only laughter was heard.

Everyone had healed.

I wore my mother’s silver crown now even though I'm not the luna. Lily is.

It was crown silver Luna. I used to scared of wearing it thinking it would weigh me down, but now, it reminded me of mom. It reminded me of who I was meant to be. And what I am meant to protect.

Silvermoon. My pack. My people.

“Silver luna,” a young guard called, standing by the door. “Great Seer Auralie says the preparations for the full-moon ceremony are ready.”

I smiled. “I'm almost done. Tell her I’ll be there soon.” I answered and the boy nodded and walked away.

Sitting alone in council room I quickly finished with the files. It was quiet. Sunlight warming me up. Outside wolves howling as they train.

My fingers brushed the table remembering the time Lucian sat here during meeting.

I smiled even though the thought made shiver went down my spine as I remembered his laughter as I joked with him. It's all in my memories now.

Even though I wished to see him. To touched him, I still talked to him when no one was around.

“Lucian,” I whispered softly, touching the table with my finger. “I’m doing what you wanted. We’re rebuilding Silvermoon… better this time.”

Only the silence answered me but i knowhe watched over us.

I gathered my things and went to Aurelie at the garden.

The scent of fresh flowers filled the air as the healers checked over the pregnant Aurelie, glowing, she had her eyes close, one hand placed on her belly and smiling.

“She kicks whenever you’re near,” she said without opening her eyes. “Maybe she’ll be like you, a silver wolf.”

“Or she’s already preparing to take your place as a seer,” I teased lightly.

She chuckled, shaking her head. “I wouldn’t mind. I wished this new generation, our childred grow without the darkness that haunted us.”

Her words warmed me.

I looked around, faces I once saw shadowed by pain now glowed with hope.

Lily stood in the corner, holding her newborn son. His tiny cries melted into the sunshine as her Keal rocked him gently.

Cynthia and Zane were here too, her belly round, glowing with life. Even Acheron had come from Blackmoon, standing tall and proud beside his grown son, no longer burdened by guilt. Soon to be grandfather.

“This is what peace looks like,” Aurelie murmured.

I nodded. “It smells different too,” I said softly. “Like fresh rain and honey.”

“When do Peace smells like honey?” she question furrowed her brow.

I laughed. “Maybe to me it did.”

....

After the ceremony of thanking the goddess for the peace, I walked to the woods. The moon was shining bright. I closed my eyes, breathing in the scent of moss and night-blooming flowers.

“I miss you,” I murmured to myself. “Every single day.” I added.

Even though I don't let it show.

The air swished, playing with my silver hair, soft and warm... like the warm fingers I once knew.

Tears brimmed my eyes, but I didn’t let them slide.

Fighting them back. I’ve accepted my fate. Even if its bitter. And I'll cherished the tome we had together.

I feel they fell, hot they slide on my cheek, they tasted bittersweet. Just like my memories.

“I promised not to ask the goddess to bring you back,” I said sobbed.

“You did your part. You found peace… I just need to learn to live with it.”

And I did.

But somewhere deep in my chest, something fluttered...like a quiet voice saying he was listening.

...

Weeks passed.

Our new laws were strong and fair. Every ritual was supervised, every spell recorded. No one dared whisper curses anymore. We made sure no young wolf grew up angry or unloved. Acheron helped start a school for abandoned pups, he said it was his way of rewriting his mistakes.

Elias, Aurelie’s mate, spent most of his time painting runes across the temple walls to protect the pack from dark magic. He looked up at me one day, covered in blue ink.

“You know,” he said, grinning, “for someone who’s always working, you don’t look half-dead.”

I laughed. “I take that as a compliment.”

“Good,” he replied. “You should smile more, Liora. Lucian would want that.”

His name still hit me like a slow ache... but not like before.

It didn’t shatter me anymore. It reminded me to keep going.

We gathered at the grand hall to celebrate. The hall smelled of grilled meat and wine.

Keal givds the speech. And we ate and drank, thanking the goddess.

Lily and Keal's baby cooed in her arms, we all smiled.

Aurelie leaned against Elias’s shoulder, as her childbirt neared,

Zane and Cynthia and other pack members danced to the soft music.

A great allied Alpha that was present asked me to dance. “Maybe next time,” I politely declined, smiling. He turned understanding.

I still remember him. I still hope.

Instead of dancing with Alpha I went to my father, Alpha Blayze.

He haved agaed for the past years. He looked older but his eyes soft with pride.

“Dance with me, Father,” I asked gently.

His smile grew bigger “Are you sure you won't regret dancing with an old wolf?” he chuckled.

“You’re the only one who won’t step on my toes.” I teased and he laughed. The sound are music to my ears.

He stood and took my hand walking to teh center of the ball. The music slowed as we danced slowly. My father’s grip was steady, grounding.

“I miss your mother,” he said softly. "I wished she is here."

“I do too,” I whispered. “But she’d be proud. Of all of us.”

He nodded, eyes tearing up. “Especially you, Silver Wolf.”

His words warmed my chest. And for just a second, it felt as if both my parents were here.

I feel mother's spirit wolf. Snow.

Conforting us.

The ball ended, and the moon shone brighter than usual.

As if the goddess is here. The wolves rogues outside howled in distance.

It was peaceful.

“Do you feel that?” Aurelie gasped, looking at the sky. One hand clutching her belly bump.

I shaked my head, then saw her seer’s mark glowing faintly. Then I feel it.

“Yes, I did just now,” I uttered, amazed.

The earth beneath us shimmered faintly.

The moon grew bigger, like it was calling.

Then a voice—soft and echoing—swept through the night. Not spoken aloud, but inside us.

“The Moon accepts your covenant.”

Pack members gasled in ewe. Some dropping on their knees in joy.

I stared at the moon, my heart was beating fast.

The moon was glowing, like it was alive.

Keal was happy it was what he wanted. We all wished for. Our request answered by the moon goddess.

We saw a faint symbol on the moon. My breath caught for a second.

“Lucian…” I whispered are you there. Watching?

Tears slide on cheek before I realized I was crying.

He was gone… but not lost.

And for the first time in a long time, the pain in my chest turned into something else.

Hope....
