Chapter 240 — He Came Back?

Chapter 240 — He Came Back?

Liora

With the moon goddess approval Silvermoon got much bussier.

The moon alway shone brighter now. Like she's keeping an eye on us.

Guiding us.

The packs elders gathered tonight, discussing... planing....not for war, but for peace.

For unity. For the promise we did on werewolf species.

And the goddess approve.

I sat next to Keal and Lily in the council hall, the silver wolf crown resting lightly on my head.

The silver Luna. Next in command after the Alpha.

"Yes. That would be great too." Keal smiled agreeing with the idea I proposed. I smiled as we discussed more, I picked a pen writing it done, my hands shaking from exhaustion but the cool from my silver bracelet conforting me. It was ones my mother’s. The luna. The silver wolf. My mentor.

It reminded me of her, of everything we’d rebuilt from scratch.

Across me was Alpha Zane of the Blackmoon pack and his Luna, Cynthia, there are here to discuss about our future.

They whispered to themselves, smiling at each other as Cynthia rubbed her swelled bump.

I felt Aurelie head bumped my shoulder as she slumped, tired and weak from her pregnancy.

"Hey are you alright?" I asked.

She nodded "Yes fine." Shw answered but I saw her hands trembled slightly as she lifted the water bottle.

“You shouldn’t be here,” I whispered, leaning toward her. " you need to rest." I added.

She smiled at me,. “I couldn’t miss this, Liora. The goddess herself gave her approval. I wanted to see what peace truly looks like.” she beamed like a toddler. When she about to be a mother. I chuckle at the thought.

Keal’s signed the paper and stood up. “Tonight, we mark a new beginning,” he said. “Our packs, Silvermoon, Blackmoon, and all others present are united not by fear, but by trust. Not by control, but by compassion.”

Alpha's murmured in agreement. Their faces saying it all. We were all happy.

I looked around, taking in the moment, the sound of clinking glasses. The smile on everybody faces.

This is what we dream for... what we fought for.

Not just peace, but understanding. The kind that doesn’t vanish with time.

The meeting ended and we walked outside, saying our farewell.

It was night already, the air was cold, the moon was full. Watching us as we prepared for the moon run.

A tradition we’d nearly forgotten.

Wolves shifted around me, their fur gleaming under the moon light. Everyone beautiful in its kind of way.

Keal, shifted and stood beside me, Storm, his wolf large and proud. His golden eyes glowing with pride.

Lily, his Luna, sat at the bench, watching over their son as the caretaker take care of him.

Aurelie's condition couldn’t let her shift tonight, The healers warned her it might be dangerous in condition.

But she was here. She insisted as Elllias stood by her side. Our eyes met and she smiled at me, waving one hand and the other one resting on her belly, as she mouthed blessings.

Keal turned to me. “Are you ready, Silver Luna?”

I noded at her smiling. “Always little Alpha, Always.”

He frowned. "I'm Alpha not little Alpha." He mumbled.

"Yeah, but I'm your elder sister. So to me you're always my little brother. "

"We'll see about that when after I outmatch you tonight. Legendary Silver Wolf." He teased.

I laughed "We'll see baby Alpha."

"Don't call me that when I have a baby." He warned.

And we burst into laughter.

It has been long since we had conversation like this.

Since before.... I think his coronation... the day it all started.

I shifted feeling the cold ground under my bare feet.

The feeling nostalgia.

Snowfall, my wolf emerged, her silver fur catching the moon light as she howled.

The pack of wolves howled after me.

And then, we ran.

The forest bluring as she ran. My paws sank into the frost and damp soil. As we moved through the trees.

Cold air scratch my face, sharp but alive. I could feel alive.... free.

Every step felt like I was letting go of pain.... the guilt. The endless hope.

But Lucian’s memory would always be with me. Derek's too.

It was midnight and we returned to the pack yard, breathing heavily, and we call it a night.

....

The next morning, it was another council meeting.

Keal sat at the head of the table, his face was calm but focused at Ronan read the improving we're getting. “Our alliance is stronger than it’s ever been,” he said. “But strength means nothing without wisdom. We must remember why we fought, to protect, not to control.”

Zane nodded. “Agreed. We all learned that power without compassion becomes poison.”

“And forgiveness isn’t weakness. Even though it seem like that. If we didn't forgive. It only turn us into the monsters we once feared.” Cynthia added.

“The goddess’s covenant binds us now. That's our strength. Its stronger than any weapon because it’s a promise. Whoever breaks it, the curse will fall on him, who dare betray the moon.” Aurelie uttered.

Her words sent a message. As a seer. A warning... No one spoke for a long time.

I smiled, admiring how she matured. Aurelie the ones silent one, the crazy girl who sees things.

“Then let’s build from it. Not just laws, but understanding. No child should ever grow up believing that love has to be taken by force.”

All of them nodded in agreement.

I looked toward the open doors of the hall, where the sun touched.

Lucian, I thought, I hope you can see this. I hope you know we kept your wish.

...

“Liora?” Keal’s voice drew me back.

“Yes?”

He smiled faintly. “You were far away for a moment.”

“I was just thinking,” I said softly. “About how far we’ve come.”

Alpha Blayze chuckled, his deep voice rumbling. “We’ve come a long way from those days of war. I never thought I’d live to see peace.”

Aurelie laughed lightly. “That’s because you never rest, old wolf.”

The hall burst into laughter. Even Zane grinned, shaking his head.

But before Keal could speak again, the doors opened.

A guard entered, bowing low. “Alpha Keal,” he uttered, bowing his head. “There’s a visitor at the gate. He siad he is an Alpha from the north. He asks for an audience regarding collaboration, he offer to help expand Silvermoon with with his knowledge and unity.”

Keal glanced at me, curiosity flickering in his eyes. “An Alpha from the north?”

“Yes, my lord. He says it’s urgent.”

Blayze leaned forward. “Let him in. This is a perfect time to welcome new allies.”

I nodded in agreement, “Yes. The goddess would want it.”

The guard turned and walked out.

Few moments later, we heard footsteps approaching. It was slow. Confident. Familiar.

What familiar?

His scent?

Then he appeared.

Tall. Broad-shouldered. His dark hair brushed down his collar. The sun light shining on his face, strong, tired, but achingly familiar.

His eyes, were silver, the same ones I knew so well, and then our eyes met.

I gasped. Making all the air in my lungs escaped.

My heart stopped, then raced so fast that hurt.

It.... it couldn’t be.

I stood up, my legs shaking. “Lucian…” I whispered.

Keal froze beside me. Zane’s eyes widened. Aurelie covered her mouth with a gasp.

He took one step closer towards me, the away from the sunlight.

The hall was dead silence.

“Is that you?” I stammered, couldn't find my voice.

His lips curved into a smile, his voice low but deep. “It’s me, Liora.”

The world spun. My heart shattered into thousands pieces then was whole again.

He was alive.

He was here.

After all this time… he came back.
