Chapter 238 – Decade's Fued Ended

Liora

His jaw tightened. “It’s something that would benefit both packs,” he said quietly. “Something I should have done long ago.”

The room went silent. Even the wind seemed to still.

Alpha Blayze crossed his arms slowly, his face unreadable. “Go on,” he said.

He breathe out, the started. “I'll take responsibility,” he said finally, voice low but steady. “For thing's I've done, the secrets I kept and by so doing leading Lucian into this mess. I've trained Lucian.”

My chest felt heay as the heard of his name. Snowfall nuzzled inside me, restless.

Alpha Blayze furrowed his brows. “You trained him,” he said slowly.

“Yes,” Acheron replied. “I trained him for a long time… and then I banished him after what he did.I never asked why he did it, or dealt with the pain behind his anger. I just punished the man, not tried to reason with him. I realized now, if I didn't banished him he won't have meet Marcus again. Amd he won't have controlled him.” Acheron's voice was shaking for the first time.

Silence filled the room.

“I thought what I was doing was right, i thought banishing him was more than imprisonment.” Acheron continued, his eyes not leaving the floor. “But I realised I was just running from my own self. Because I saw too much of myself in Lucian, I was a rogue alpha too before the goddess made it a pack.”

I could feel his emotions, regret, pain, and a deep, aching sorrow that words could barely hold.

So mother's twin moon alpha was also a rogue Alpha. Same as Lucian.

Alpha Blayze walked to him, “And now, what did you have done since?”

Acheron look at him for the first time. “Now, I’ll fix what I can, thats why I'm here,” he said. “I’ve already started establishing programs for banished young wolves, and those who have lost their families or suffered from magic’s curse. They’ll be guided, trained, and protected. No child should grow up feeling unwanted… or unloved. Sometimes that's the cause of drifting away.”

He paused, “Like Lucian did.” then added slowly.

My eyes were wet with tears, I looked away, trying my best not the let the sob out.

"That's a great thing." Alpha Blayze uttered. "We'll give you 100 percent support."

Alpha Acheron smiled. “And there’s one more thing I have to say.”

His smiled widened as he turned and looked at Zane, his son, who was standing beside Cynthia.

“I’ll be stepping down as Alpha of Blackmoon,” Acheron said his words were firm. “It’s time for me to step down and let new leaders lead. One to start afresh, not with my mistakes. I'll Zane crown Zane. Next week he would take my place.”

The room was filled with whispers and gasps. Even Zane’s was surprised.

“Father...” Zane began.

But Acheron raised a hand. “No, son. It’s time. You’ve proven yourself strong and wise. You’ve learned compassion where I lacked it. Blackmoon needs that now more than ever.”

Cynthia rubbed his arm, smiling. “Finally out its time. You deserve it,” she murmured.

Alpha Blayze gripped Acheron’s shoulder. “You've done great my brother, Elara would be proud. This is what few Alpha do. Knowimg when its time to step down and letting go of leadership when you're old,” he said. “The pack will be happy with this.”

Acheron smiled. “I hope they remember my sacrifice and what came after, and the peace would be worth the pain.”

....

A week has passed already and we traveled to Blackmoon for Zane’s coronation.

The journey was fun, the air on the flight was refreshing.

We arrived at Blackmoon, and entered the grand hall, everything was beautiful and grand.

Cynthia looked beautiful in her silver gown, like the luna she is, her dark curls shimmering with tiny crystals. Zane was handsome he stood beside her, wearing the Alpha’s attire. With the crest of Blackmoon.

After a while the elder’s started coronation, And after the speech Alpha Acheron placed silver crown on his son’s head.

“From this night onwards,” he announced, “Zane of Blackmoon shall lead this pack with humility, grace, honor, courage, and whole his heart.”

The pack members cheered and bowed at him.

Cynthia smiled and her eyes met mine. “For peace,” she mouthed.

I nodded. “For peace.” smilling at her and they take their place on the throne.

After the coronation, a ball was followed afterwards. Music, food. Laughter, and the clinking of glass as they drink wine.

Acheron met me in the crowd. “I’ll always remained Silvermoon’s friend and ally, and I'll cherished the memoriesi have with tour mother,” he uttered. “If you or your brother ever need me. I'll be there as always. L”

I smiled faintly. “We will, sometimes,” I said. “Thank you… for everything.”

He nodded. “And you, Liora, you’ve healed more than yourself. You’ve healed what we all broke.”

I smiked at his words, feeling warmth inside. I bowed my head, in respect then walked away. Grateful.

At the ball, many Alphas asked me to dance but I refused politely. My heart wasn’t ready for that kind of closeness.

Instead, I reduced and I danced with my father, Alpha Blayze. Keal danced with Lily and Elias with Aurelie.

The music was slow and soft, he smiled at me, I saw his eyes teary.

“She would have loved this,” he whispered. And I know he means mother.

I nodded, smiling sadly. “Mother always loved peace. And she died for it.”

He nodded and we danced in silence both lost in our memories of her... her smile, warmth, her courage, her laugh.

The longing in my chest was no longer sharp. it was at ease like a memory you want to keep forever.

The song ended and father kissed my forehead. “I’m proud of you, Liora,” he said softly. "You're just like her."

My eyes teared up. "I’m proud of us, too,” I whispered back.

The night ended and the pack members returned to theif homes, I stepped outside staring at the moon. It was bright. The air smelled.... bittersweet.

I rubbed my silver chain, whispering into the sky, “I miss you, Lucian.”

The wind stirred softly, brushing against my cheek like a touch.

“And I’ll live for both of us,” I promised.

I heard a faint howled in the woods... not in sorrow, but in peace.

And, I smiled.

Because even after decades of pain that Misty, Linda, Erik, Marcus, and even Lucian did, it had ended. And something new had already begun.

A chapter not written in blood or loss.

But in healing.

And hope.... hoping to see him again.
