chapter 48

***** Sierra’s Point Of View *****

After spending time with Gram and showing her the dress that she absolutely loved, it was time for me to go back to the pack house and leave her for the night. I kissed her goodbye and said my farewells to Ramiro. Upon entering the pack house I caught Shane taking that guy that I bumped into up the stairs. “Hey babe! What are you doing?” I asked. “I am taking Melakie up to one of the spare rooms so he can get settled. Can you meet me in my office?” I agreed to meet him in his office. I wasn't in there long before Shane came into the office. “What's up babe? Is everything alright?” I asked, feeling a little concerned as to why he asked me to meet him in his office.

“Yes, everything is just fine. I wanted to talk to you a bit about the man that is here, Melakie.” I nodded my head not knowing where this conversation was going to go. “He was here because he is going to help you with your fairy powers. He himself is a fairy, and knows your family.” I was very excited to hear this. This is something that has been on my mind a lot lately and I really wanted to learn more about my powers and my fairy family.

“Can I go and see him? I have some things I would like to talk to him about.” I asked. Not knowing whether or not he would be okay with me going to talk to him. “Sure you can do whatever you want. Would you like for me to go with you?” I didn't want to seem mean when I told him that I wanted to go alone. But I feel like it is something that I need to do alone. “Are you upset with me that I want to go alone?” I questioned, trying to feel out his emotions. “Not at all Luna… not at all…” He answered. I loved when he called me Luna. It sent shivers down my spine. “However I insist that a guard goes with you and stands outside of the door as you talk to him. I only suggest this because we really don't know him or if he has an ulterior motive. “

Shane was right… We don't know him at all. “That is fine, you can send a guard with me.” If I am being honest it took some stress off of my shoulders when he suggested this. Once Shane and I were done in his office I was escorted by one of the guards upstairs and up to the spare bedroom where Melakie was. I knocked softly on the door. “Come in!” He shouted from inside the bedroom. I opened the door and greeted him. “Hey Melakie, are you busy? There are some things that I wanted to talk to you about.” I voiced. “Ask away, I will answer you as honestly as I can.” He remarked.

“Shane told me that you were going to help me and train me with my powers. How do you plan on doing that?” I stated. He explained how he planned on training me to use my powers. It was very interesting to hear him talk about how most of the training has to do with meditation and becoming one with my fairy side. Then I asked the question that has been weighing heavily on my mind since I bumped into him at the front door. “I feel like you and I know eachother… Do we?” I asked, feeling like him and I had this strange connection. Not like a mate connection but something different.

Melakie puts his head down and lets out a long sigh. He then picks his head back up and locks eyes with me and nods. “Yes Sierra, we are in fact related. We are cousins.” I couldn't help but begin to cry. “Why are you crying?” he questioned. “I really have believed for all of these years that I was the only one left from my family since my pack was attacked all those years ago. And to know that there are really family members of mine still alive is amazing.”

‘Well if I am being honest you really have a lot of family in the fairy realm. They all come from your mothers side. You have aunts, uncles and other cousins too.” Melakie gets up and comes towards me. He gave me a hug. This hug was something that felt like I had been missing out on for a long time. It felt good to have family other than Gram. Something I never thought I would say or feel.

“Are you going to be coming to the Luna ceremony?” I remarked, hoping that he was going to say yes. “I will come if you want me to be there.” He answered and I immediately told him that I did want him there. “I have a question for you..” I looked at him trying to read his face. “Ask away.” I answered. “Who is this Grandmother that you spoke of before? I only ask because I was led to believe that our grandmothers had passed.”

“Well, she really isn't my grandmother. She is just an older woman that took me in when I was a small child. I just look at her like a grandmother and therefore call her Gram.” I explained. “I completely understand that. Would it be okay if I meet the lady that has taken care of my cousin for all these years?” I thought about it for a minute and told him that I would be honored to have the two of them meet.

“However there is something that we need to talk about when it comes to Gram..” I began “Gram was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. So her memory is a little sketchy. She has her good days and her bad days so I just want you to be aware. Melakie looked at me like I was crazy. “In the fairy realm we do not have this disease we really don't have any kind of disease like that. This is all news to me… and I want to let you know how sorry I am that she is going through this.” Tears started to fill my eyes… My cousin Melakie is really a great person. I can't wait to get to know him better… hell I can't wait to see the rest of my family.

I was quiet for a few minutes before Melakie began to talk again. “So would you like to know what one of your powers are and how to use it?” My eyes lit up. I nodded like a little kid who was just asked if they wanted candy. “Alright, close your eyes… I want you to cup your hands together open as if you were going to have something placed in your hands. Now I need you to focus all of your energy to the palm of your hands. I want you to imagine that there is a ball of light that you are holding on to. The more energy you focus there the brighter the ball of light will be.”

I did everything that he asked of me and in my mind I visualized this ball of light. And let me tell you that it was bright. “Sierra, open your eyes…” As I blinked my eyes open I was astounded. There was a real light in the center of my hands. I wanted to jump up and down because I did it. I created the light ball. My first try too. “I wanted to teach this one to you first so that you will never be in the dark ever again. And no matter what you will always be able to light your way.”

I was so proud of myself. “I really want to tell you that you caught on very quickly and mastered this power. I am proud of you cousin.” Melakie said to me and it made me feel so good. I began to laugh with excitement.

After a little while longer of Melakie and I talking about everything and anything that has to do with the fairy realm I left him and linked Shane. “Hey where are you? There is something cool I want to show you!” Shane told me that he was still in his office so I headed there. Once I got there I went right in and began to show him. I did everything that Melakie told me to do when I was with him. When I created the light ball Shane was just as amazed as I was when I did it just moments before.

“I can't believe you already learned one of your powers.” I looked at him and smiled “Yeah me too, Melakie told me that I am a fast learner.” Shane came over and kissed me. “I don't doubt that one bit.” I kissed him back and hugged him as tight as I could. I love him… and I am beyond happy that he accepts me for who and what I am. Even if I was having a hard time accepting myself.
