Chapter 60 Babies, Babies.
Lily’s pov.
After Creed helped me get back to our room I told him I wanted to spend time with Alex tonight.
“Okay,” he shrugs, “fine with me, I’ll go do some work in my office tonight. I’ll let her know to come by.”
“Okay, darling. Thank you,” I say with a smile, I go to ask him what kind of work he has to do when I feel a strong kick to my ribs, “ouch!”
I wince while holding my left side, Creed's head snaps in my direction quickly before he’s at my side, “are you okay? What happened?”
“I’m- im fine!” I stutter out, “one of them just kicked me really hard…”
Creed laughs at me, like, a full on belly laugh, “that hurts you?” He asks, still chuckling slightly.
“Well, when your child kicks me really hard in the ribs, yes, it hurts!” I laughed, shaking my head at him.
“Okay, okay,” he says, kissing my forehead, “be good, my little ones. I’ll let Alex know to come by.”
“Let Raya know I want her to come here too!” I say before I forget, remembering what Sapphire said.
“Okay,” Creed shrugs, grabbing his phone before he leaves, “I’ll tell Ryan, I love you, I’ll talk to you later!”
As Creed closed the door behind him I decided to try and take a shower, doing anything recently has been a challenge, my huge belly always getting in my way.
‘Our children are growing,’ Sapphire whispers in awe, ‘very healthy, very happy.’
‘That’s good… I’m glad,’ I whispered back, feeling relieved at the voice of my dragon. Something I missed in the underworld.
I’m finally starting to feel like myself again, the threat of my father and Hades is still there but now that I have Creed and my dragon again I feel sane, safe, and happy.
There’s no place I’d rather be than at home.
A few hours have gone by and I’ve successfully washed my hair and shaved my legs; which might I add was a disaster.
And not to mention the fact that I can’t find any clothes. Grabbing one of Creeds shirts I throw it on and call it good, none of my clothes fit me anymore, maybe I can go shopping tomorrow.
It’s starting to get late and I haven’t heard anything from Creed. Alex and Raya also haven’t shown up yet.
‘Creed?’ I whispered down our mindlink.
‘Yes, sweetheart?’ He responded instantly, calming my racing heart.
‘Have you talked to Alex yet? Or Raya? They haven’t shown up yet…’ I whisper, wondering where the hell they are.
‘That’s weird. I told Alex to go to our room when she was ready, Ryan came in earlier and I also told him you wanted to see Raya, he was acting very weird when he was here though. Which is unusual for him… I’m sure they’ll be there soon, love,’ he mumbles, obviously distracted by his work.
‘Okay, thank you. I’ll let you get back to your work,’ I say with a smile before closing our link down.
Sighing to myself, I plop down on my bed and grab a book Creed has sitting on the nightstand. Trying to kill some more time, the title is called ‘preservation’ “huh,” I say to myself, “he’s a really good king… always has something to improve on.”
I chuckle to myself, no matter what is going on I know Creed would never let our tribe down, making me want to be a better Queen.
Skimming through the pages I read all kinds of things like how to preserve the green forest, making logging happen in different areas to conserve our lands.
As I keep flipping through the pages my bedroom door flies open with a gasping Alex coming through, causing me to sit up with a concerned look on my face.
“Alex? Are you alright?” I ask while walking towards her.
“Yes!” She gasps, hands on her knees in a hunched over position, “there’s something I need to tell you…”
“What is it?” I asked curiously, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
She gives me a small smile trying to gather her words, “I-I met my mate…”
“What!” I shout excitedly, “what’s he like?”
“Well… he’s not exactly a he… he’s a- my mate is a girl…” she stutters, looking at me with tears in her eyes.
“Oh Alex,” I chuckle, pulling her into a hug, “what are you worried about?”
She sighs, running a hand through her hair, “I’m worried about what Creed and my father will think… this- this isn’t something I’ve ever accepted.”
“It’s who you are! Your family should love you no matter what, I know we will,” I say softly, gesturing towards me and the babies I carry.
“Thanks, Lily. You don’t know how much that means to me,” she sighs in relief.
As I go to say something else Raya comes walking into the room with an awkward look on her face, “I have something to tell you guys too…” she mutters softly, not meeting our eyes.
“What is it?” I say curiously, wondering what’s going on with everyone today.
“Im-we’re!” She stutters, clearly flustered, “goddess, im pregnant!”
As she says that her cheeks turn pink and she looks at the ground, “that’s amazing news!” I gush, “our children can grow up together! What’s wrong with that?”
“I just- I know it’s not a good time for you guys right now. I didn’t want to push the fact I'm pregnant on you, I'm actually about eight weeks…” she says with a suppressed smile on her face.
“Have the healers checked you out? What have they said about the baby?” I ask eagerly. Smiling so hard my face hurts.
“Well…” she says with a huge smile on her face, “it’s twins!”
Both Alex and I’s faces turn into complete shock, “twins!” I say in excitement, “our babies can grow up together! Oh my gosh, this is so exciting! Raya! This is great news!”
“You think so?” She asks quietly, finally looking up at me, “I was scared to tell you! My pregnancy is at higher risk and they want to observe me, my nurse… she was weird. Her name is Amy I think. I was wondering if your grandmother could help with my pregnancy too, so I don’t have to deal with her. I’m so scared, this is all so new and I don’t want to mess it up!”
“Wow,” Alex breaths out, “we have our heirs… the alpha heir, and the betas! When do we find out the genders?”
