Chapter 182 Camera Footage
Benny's P.O.V.
For the last couple of days, I have been reviewing footage from the Buccheri compound to see if I can identify who started the fire. I'm the head of security and one of the only people with access to the online system. I keep going to the feed right before the fire, but don't see anything, so I go back further. I have to find out who did this. I owe it to Galdino and Santino.
I run my fingers through my hair in frustration. How am I not seeing who entered the house and started the fire? It didn't just start on its own. That gives me an idea.
I move from the outside of the house to the footage on the inside. The fire marshal said the fire started in the living room downstairs. Why didn't I think of this before? I was trying to find someone going into the house. What if they were already there?
As I rewind the footage and press play, I see the empty living room, then flames, before everything goes black. I go back further and play the footage slowly. No one is in the room, but I see a flash. I pause the video and zoom in on what caused the flash. I then rewind slowly. Son of a bitch. It was a package sitting on the living room table. Someone delivered a bomb. Now, I need to find out who put the package on the table and who delivered it to the house.
I slowly go back while keeping my focus on the package. I watch Delia, Galdino's maid, carry it into the room and set it on the table. Why would she put it there? Galdino likes packages put in his office. I rewind and watch her again. She's being really careful with the box. Did she know what was in it?
I go through the footage from inside the house to retrace her footsteps before she enters the living room. She doesn't come from the front door carrying the box; she comes from the side of the house. I switch to a camera outside the side door. A woman is standing there holding the box and gives it to Delia. She looks familiar. I zoom in on her face, and I can't believe it.
"What are you looking at?" I jump slightly when I hear Galdino's voice. I turn to see him and a very flushed Valentina standing behind me. I'm happy for him; he deserves to find a woman he can love. I wish I could find one for myself.
"I found out how the fire started. A package was brought to the house, and Delia put it on the table in the living room. From how she was carrying it, I believe she knew what was in the box. That's not all. Look who gave her the package." I point to the screen, and Galdino clenches his jaw.
"Get Delia to come here now. I want to verify this with her before we say anything to anyone else." I nod, pick up my phone to call Delia, and look at the woman handing her the package. What is her motive?

Dakota's P.O.V.
I open my eyes and look around. I guess I must have fallen asleep. Ari and Enzo are still passed out in the chair, so I know I couldn't have slept for long. I quietly get up and leave the room. When I get downstairs, I see most of my family cooking dinner. Even my siblings and cousins are here now. Good, I was going to tell them all I wanted them here anyway.
"Mom, can I talk to you for a minute?" She wipes her hands on a towel and walks over to me.
"What's the matter, sweetheart?" I tilt my head and raise my eyebrows at her.
"Seriously? All of a sudden, our entire family decided to hang out here, and you didn't think I would notice? What's going on?" She chuckles and looks at the others.
"I guess we're not as sneaky as we thought." When she turns back to me, I don't say anything. "We know you've had a lot on your plate lately, and we all wanted to be here to help you. Even if it's just cooking and cleaning or doing non-mafia-boss things for you. We're your family, and we just wanted you to know you're not alone in this fight. We all have your back."
I smile as I look at each person, and I can't stop my tears from falling. Benny told me the same thing, but to hear it and see it means so much more.
