205. The wrath of women

After we succeeded in fighting against our enemies, the wolves in the Palace get busy for the preparation of Alpha King Vincent's arrival. Maleficus have also informed me of the upcoming full wolf moon to conceive an heir to the throne. Alpha King Vincent is an only pup and it will be better if we can have more children with us. There are only two days left and finally, he will come back with all the warriors who joined him on the journey to the West.

I was about to get out of the room when my phone ring. There is only one person who calls me in that number, because I rarely use mobile phone. It is my mother. My hand quickly grab the mobile and put it beside my ear.

"Hello mom?"

It's been a while since I last saw her. She must have heard about the travel of the Alpha King away from the Palace.

"Hi sweetheart, I called to let you know that I am visiting you tomorrow if that's alright? Maybe you are lonely since I heard about the Alpha King Vincent being on travel."

The smile on my face widened, she will be coming to cook all the food I have usually eaten when I was a child. I can't remember most of them since I become a wolf but I love how she cooks them well for me. It makes me feel special.

"Sure thing mom, It's been a long time since your last visit, I want to ask if you can stay until my husband comes home. Alpha King Vincent will be happy to see you again."

"Of course sweetie, I am taking a break from the work in the office so I can stay for a week in the Palace. But sweetheart, I have two friends who are coming they wanted to see the Langston Palace. They are with me from work, all has a contribution for government in the city. I have told them that I will call you for permission first."

I laugh and nodded my head. "Your friends are my friends too mom so no problem. Bring them here and we will treat them as an honored guest of the Palace."

"Thank you sweetie! I am bringing all your favorites tomorrow so don't eat too much today OK?"

I laugh with my mother, she knows my appetite. "See you, tomorrow mom."

Now I have something to look forward to aside from the coming of my Alpha King. My mother is visiting the Palace with his two human friends, I don't know if there is a rule in the Palace in receiving human guests but if there is any, my mother and her friends will surely not cross it.

The peace treaty between human and wolves exists as what Alpha King Vincent explained to me before he left. This visit might be helpful since my mother serves as the government official in the city. Now I have something to look forward tomorrow. My mother is the only human family that I could remember.

When the morning comes I got up early to wait for her. Trying to see in my memory how she looked like the last time I saw her.

"Good morning your majesty, the warrior guards wants to announce your mother's presence at the gates with two of her friends."

I smiled at Riza who just brought me another cup of tea. "Thank you Riza please let the warrior guards know that I am waiting for them."

"Yes, your majesty."

She bows to me and took a step back before leaving me in the balcony. My eyes focus on the road below for I am anticipating my mother's arrival. It took a few minutes and then I saw the four wheel drive approaching. I stood up from my seat and decided to meet her downstairs.

I wonder how she look like in almost two years that we have not seen each other. When the situation in the pack gets dangerous Alpha King Vincent would send him a notice to not come for a visit that is why she did not come for a long time.

"Mother?"

I run through the stairs and saw Riza opening the entrance doors. An old woman came forward with a warm smile on her face, she looks up at me and our eyes meet. My feet stop at the bottom of the stairs, my mother have age a lot. The color of her hair has turned grey and her skin wrinkled. But the warmth in her smile made my heart ache for her.

"Oh sweetie, I miss you so much!"

Riza bows to her as she move forward to where I am standing, I walk faster and then hug her. Then I saw the two woman similar to her age who came in after her. They were looking at us with an indistinct expression on their faces.

"I miss you too mom."

She lets me go and touch my hair down to my shoulders. "You are as lovely as I could remember sweetheart, I am so glad that you are happy."

I nodded and kisses her in both cheeks. "Oh mom, I'm so glad you came."

She did the same before she look back and decided to introduce her friends. "Sweetie meet my friends, this is Mrs. Eden Park and Mrs. Carla Jones. Like me they are widowed so we have this friendship circle where we can support each other. They wanted to meet you so I brought them here sweetie."

The two old women are now smiling at me. "Good day your majesty, thank you for accepting us!"

"Oh, hello Mrs. Park and Mrs. Jones. Welcome to the Langston Palace and thank you for accompanying my mother here."

I shook hand with both of them and then call Riza with the other help. "Riza please show them to the guest's rooms and help them with their things."

Riza nodded but keep her mouth shut. She knows that the three old women are humans and the Palace help must obey the rule to treat them well. 

"Thank you your majesty. The Palace is so big we are afraid that if we roam around we would get lost easily."

I laugh and shake my head. 

"You will not get lost, I will assign a Palace help to be with you whenever you wanted to check with the Palace garden and make a tour around."

They look at each other while my mother is smiling at both of them. Her friends are my friends too so I don't have any second thoughts about treating them like a family.

"Please enjoy ladies."

My mother encourages them as they both hug her. "Thank you, Mrs. Snipes."

We both watch them walk with Riza and the Palace help as they took them to the guest room. I help my mother take her things and let her stay in the room next to Alpha King Vincent and me. She did not bring too much, only a small piece of luggage.

"I brought things to cook my dear, and let them be brought directly into your kitchen. "

My smile widens as we walk up the stairs. "Then we can have a delicious dinner with your friends tonight mom. I am excited for your cook meals, it brought back memories of my childhood. Those memories that I could barely remember."

"Later you can have them sweetie, I am also grateful that I came today. How I wanted to come visit you however, things have been busy in the City. I'm sorry if it took so long for me to come back."

As we get inside the room I put her luggage down and opened the curtains in the wide window. "What beautiful view up here, this place is very nice."

My mother exclaimed with admiration.

I hug her from behind. "Why don't you retire and come live with us mom? Alpha King Vincent said that you can stay here. Stop working mom, you don't have to anymore."

My mother squeeze my arms and laugh. "Give me a few more years sweetheart, maybe when you are already carrying my grandchild then I will choose to stay here."

I rolled up my eyeballs, this is now giving me pressure to have a child with Alpha King Vincent. Hours passed by spent in the kitchen while I watch her cook and prepare the meal for dinner. Riza came to help too, we set up the table and then sent somebody to ask her friends for dinner.

"Oh wow! This is delicious Mrs. Snipes!"

Mrs. Jones came forward with Mrs. Park, they join us at the table. I wave my hand for Riza to bring a bottle of wine that we can share after.

"I am forgetting my diet tonight."

Mrs. Park commented when we started our dinner. The old women enjoyed our conversation while eating. There is too much food on the table, I have eaten too much of my favorite Chilean chicken empanadas and no one eats it except me. It was my childhood favorite until now.

An hour passed by when my throat begins to itch and I drank lots of water.

"Are you alright sweetie?"

My mother's worried voice is followed by Riza who came beside me and grab my face.

"Your majesty? Your skin turned red, are you perhaps allergic to the food you eat?"

I brush her hands away. "No I am fine, they are my favorite Riza. What are you talking about?"

But then I started coughing hard when the itch in my throat feels like burning my neck and scattered down to my chest.

"Your majesty!!"
