Heart ripped open

I woke up a few hours later with a splitting headache. Everything that had happened flashed through my mind, and I started to cry. I really felt like I was going to be able to keep him, I should have known his father would find a way to tear us apart.

A part of me is telling me to fight for him yet, I do not know how. I love him so much; this explains where he has been the last several months. Did he agree to it in the beginning? did my rescue attempt from the cemetery give him a change of heart?

It hurts so bad; it is as if Callan rejected me to my face. I have never had a relationship before this but, I know that I love him, and If I lose Callan, do not know how I will survive. I need to speak to David; I need someone with me.

I force myself out of bed and head down the stairs. I hear a heated discussion outside; Callan is finally standing up to his father. Suddenly in my backyard, I see Callan shift into his wolf, and Bryson does the same. I am terrified at what I am seeing. Callan just lunged at his father. The wolves collide with each other, and Callan’s wolf throws his father into a tree. His father is quick to bound back, biting and scratching at Callan. Callan rises to his feet, blood leaking from a wound on his leg.

He shows no signs of staggering. Bryson has a deep bite on his shoulder, he is bleeding from his neck, his shoulder, and his leg. I cannot watch any more of this but, I do not know what to do. I have never seen this scenario in my life. The wolves collide again, I start to scream and cry as this continues on, and I feel myself freeze as I see Callan lock his father in a neck hold with his jaws.

The older wolf falls to the ground in submission. Callan shifts back as I fall to my knees. He whispers something in his father's ear while snarling, and his father bows his head in defeat. He turns to his father.

“Has she not suffered enough? First her mother's psychotic behavior and abuse, my mistakes of taking the bond for granted and cheating on her, all the pain she felt, and now your indecent proposal! You look at her and see only her mother, how much more does she have to suffer!” Callan snarled at his father.

He walked towards the house, he tried to pull me into his arms, but I took some steps backward shaking my head. I walk back into the house; I do not know what to think of him right now. He came here earlier seeking forgiveness, and a second chance while the whole time, he was letting his father betrothed him to someone else.

What am I supposed to think of this? How can I feel certain I can trust him? He tries to approach me, but I keep my distance. I can see the pain in his eyes, He stretches his hand out towards me, but I continue to step away. He is starting to look broken; I know that he fought for me. However, the pain of his lying. him letting me believe that everything was perfect is still fresh in my mind. How do we move forward from this moment?

For now, I tell him that I need time, I understand that none of this is his idea but, he let it happen, he did not stand for us when his father made the arrangements. I do not know what to think of him at this moment. I cannot tell Hunter, there will be blood if he learns how much Callan has hurt me, and David will come back here for a fight if he learns everything. The only person I can think of is my grandfather.

I send Callan home, so I have time to myself. He tries to fight me on it, he does not want to leave me alone. He tells me he is scared of what might happen if I send him away. I steel my resolve, I cannot do this, he keeps hurting me. He is angry at my behavior but, I cannot look at him right now. I need space, just as I am about to dial the number for my grandfather's house the phone rings.

I hesitantly picked it up, and the person who answers the last one I expect but, provides me with the escape I need.

“Hello?” I hear someone clear their throat.

“Molly?” I nearly dropped the phone as I heard the voice of my biological father.

“Hello dad,” I say with a small smile.

“How are you?” he asks me.

Honestly, aside from my mates and Hunter, he is the first one to ask me this.

I feel a strong urge to just break and pull him in for a hug. I missed him at the funeral, but I understand why he was not there.

“Daddy,” I say in a small girl's voice.

“Mol,” he says quietly.

“I feel like everything is falling apart” I murmur as a tear starts to trail down my cheek.

“Where is your stepfather?” I inhale.

“He was here for a while, he needed time alone so, he is staying at his Ellesmere Port mansion” I hear him say something low away from the phone.

I heard a growl in the background that did not come from him. Could it be that he told his family about me?

“Molly, I think it would be a good idea for you to come here to stay, at least for a day or two.”

I was not sure if there was such a clever idea.

“Are you sure? Do they even know about me? Will they even want me there?” he spoke in a stern voice?

“You are my daughter, who is currently hurting emotionally. I never got the chance to be there for you before, give me this chance now. Anyone who does not agree with it will answer to me!”

The last words he spoke were away from the phone as if he were giving a command to someone. After a few silent moments, I heard a growl then, silence. I thought about the opportunity to see him again. I know if anything happens, I can hopefully just leave and find David.

“okay” I said with a smile.

I hung up the phone and tried to suffocate the negative feeling churning in my gut. I was going to my father's pack, I was going to meet my father again, and his family. A family and pack who hates what I am. I have this impending sense of doom that I am not going to survive.
