Chapter 183

Chapter 183
Herculian
And Hillius understood that. He hugged Kaizen like he hugged me. I could sense it… he wanted to speak, but new he couldn’t. All he wanted was to apologize… And I hated Arviel for this.
He did this.
All he had to do was fully accept my child, not send me on this wild chase across the country.  Kaizen my boy’s white hair. Ironic he smells of light, yet he may not get to see the sunrise.
“What’s the blessing you had in mind?” Willow asked. Even the general’s mate was already ready to give a boon without having to beg or fight for it.
Kaizen pressed his forehead to his nephew, and his flame appeared between his horns. “This one holds darkness in his heart.” He said firmly.
“I know.” I said upset….Should he live, Arviel will want him in his army, but what he doesn’t know, is that I won’t let him if he doesn’t want to. “Father wishes me to slay my son before he can speak.”
“Then may he never utter a word.” Said Kaizen. “If that is the catalyst to make another problem…another Contradiction… may your tongue be tied, little Hillius. May you live this life in the light you’re meant to…. But in return I only think it fair I will give him ability to link and communicate with his mind.” He kissed his forehead, and passed him to me.
“…That’s smart thinking.” I said holding back. “Thank you…”
I… I have always wanted to have my own, yet somehow, some way, it never happened. Any woman I loved didn’t live long enough…. Either by their mortality, or someone’s dagger in their heart while I was away. It was why I initially didn’t peruse Diana. Then I saw her resilience, and confidence…. That she comes back… her death isn’t permanent… She is someone I can love until the end… I couldn’t express how much worry was thrown off me… I owe Tyson and Kaizen…
“My only issue is that my house has a draft. Go be with your wife. Today is meant to be joyous.” Said Kaizen.
“Diana said he should be able to speak in a few hours.” I mumbled. “I suppose now it will be telepathic.”
“Aye. His eyes flash red already.” Said Kaizen. “You will have your ‘voice’ by sunrise, and you need to take your son home before Diana loses her mind. I hope she doesn’t think you went to carry out his orders.”
“I wanted you to be the first to see.” I grinned wide… It was a half lie. I wanted everyone to be the first to see.
“Go with my blessing Hillius.” Said Kaizen, seeing through my bullshit, but not asking about it. “May his blades never cross his kin. May they all love each other as littermates.” He passed Hillius.
“That’s a good blessing.” I said happily... now our moment could have joy, and peace…
“It is. Now go home before Diana loses her mind. You literally took a newborn babe states away to show him off.” Said Kaizen.
He pressed his forehead to mine!
What the fuck.
“Never expected to be treated as a brother.” I said honestly.
“You protect the world as much as I do. As far as I’m concerned, you’re an honorary wolf.” Kaizen chuckled.
“Sorry for the surprise this morning... and sorry I broke your window… and alerted your guards.” I vanished by becoming a beam of light.
“Everyone …. Go to bed. We’ll fix it in the morning.” Complained Kaizen just barely within hearing range.
It only took a minute or so to get home… Diana was in bed, worried. I was still thankful that Aris cleaned the room before I came… I knew she bled quite a bit. Even though I had no beastly nose, I still knew the telltale sign of iron in the air. The metallic smell could not be denied, yet because of my half brother, my girlfriend there's only perturbed that I was gone in the now solved situation we had at hand.
“Did you do it? Did you stop the faded status upon our child?” She asked that with tear welled eyes and I was proud to look back and put our son in her arms. She cradled him lovingly as any mother with her newborn, despite how tall he was for being newly born….
“I did.” I said simply. “The wolf king blessed him once and his brother blessed him twice, a cheat, but it is done.”
I understood now why Tyson said not to say anything, because you're only meant to bless a child once. Even if you attempt to bless a child twice, typically only the first one will stick and the second one would merely be words and flowery speech. Yet somehow and some way goodnight court allowed such a basic fundamental rule to not only be broken but also cheated. But I actually did not give a single fuck about it. I had my son.
He was healthy and he would grow up to be whoever he wanted including the soldier but only if it meant he wished it to. I would train him if he wanted, and he would hold the blade if he wished that one day he could use it for his wife or mate…. That one day if he needed to he could be the gentle hand and the swinging blade, but for himself not for my father. I suppose I should not hate him too much since he opened the way for the status of my fated child to have their fate removed and reset....
Now his fate is whatever he wishes it to be. Now he will not come to some ill omen once the sun rises…. And watching him and my girlfriend fall asleep make me vigilantly sit and watch the moon. Though the event was over, my mind had as of yet to fully settle and fully sink in that I had succeeded. I would go to sleep in the morning, once the sun rises and wake to him having the strength to speak to us with links. I should think Kaizen for that as well, because of his effort, my son will be mute but have a voice. I suspect that because of the strange nature of his communication, that he may yet perceive additional powers because he will have his mind strengthened so from casual everyday. While others would have to manually and purposefully trained that skill, he will do it out of necessity.
Perhaps it was Tyson, further opening the way that allowed for that double blessing? Whatever it was it honestly didn't matter, what mattered was that I was successful because I would have kept my promise to Diana.
