Chapter 182

Chapter 182
Diana
Fated children is common when they have a father like the Demigod of Strength. Twins, daughters, and those born like my son… those born with corrupted, contaminated powers may become evil, or harm the earth. They always become some fable or another… They never live long lives, with mine not fated a day… Fairy children tend to talk within 24 hours.
“I don’t know what I can do... but let me try.” Said Herculian.
“Promis me you won’t hurt him.” I held onto him… I could not let him go. It isn’t right.
“You know I would never do that… but I swear I will fix this Diana. I swear I will not harm our son, and whatever consequences come from it, so be it.”
I gingerly gave him a future warrior, should he live. I could sense a great many things that could come from him, but for once I didn’t see just that…
As a beam of light, he was gone, and I would have no idea if he would be successful or not.
\----Herculian----
I panicked as I flew through the sky, knowing I had a timer….
Who could I call too?
Who would aid him? To do so would put them against the Sun himself, so no one in the Light court would want to do something like this. Why would you stick your neck out for a mere stranger, and offend your maker?
I had to think about what would happened if someone from our end of this interfered….
I thought of the Wolf King first. He is noble…. He is just… he is like us, but not part of the merry band, holding positions on Urth and Below.
As I near teleported to his pack, I was intercepted by Kenriel… He too was like us, but not of the Light Court, although I had an inkling that maybe he couldn’t do anything for me, other than be a thorn in my side.
“Halt… wait… congratulations. I thought Diana wasn’t due.” He said flapping there on angel wings, being a protector of the night. Next to him flew Uriel’s wife Titafia, who put her sword away, as she was behind me.
…. They were going to cleave me in half, using Kenriel as a distraction since I could take them both holding my son with my right hand. Smart, but I’m immune to light energy, since I can create it.
“Allow me to speak to Lord Tyson.” I said firmly.
“Thankfully there’s no court today. Let me just go wake up my boss in the middle of the night.” Kenriel flew off.
I followed him, and walked with him to through the old castle. The original Wolf King, Ashital was a great friend…. Together we slew many demons, helped the humans, and kept them safe… We helped bring comfort to them, despite his curse of the Crave. To alleviate those dark desires, he would eat on corpses, not fresh if he could… He really tired not to be a monster for monstrosity sake. Where others were proud of their brutality, he savored being a gentleman when he could. He was a wolf in man’s skin yes, but not rabid.
Now I walked down the halls, missing him, yet seeing his old portraits and our accomplishments on the wall…. I kind of hated seeing my statue. Queen Gweneth made sure it did look good, but I didn’t want to be ‘a work of art’ in her words. That was the old me…. ever searching for the approval of others, and now the only one I seek is Diana.
She’s difficult, and a brat, but she’s my brat… I cannot see her the way everyone else sees her…. I can’t judge her for Alavastros…. Unlike them, I know, and will not say anything as per her request.
We met in the throne room, and he looked concerned.
“Congratulations and good evening. It’s 3:35 in the morning Herculian. What ails you?” he asked concerned….
This is how my son was made Contradiction in the first place…. They did not turn me away, offering to aid me without even knowing what ailed me.
“I wanted you to see my son while he stills draws breath.” I said honestly… I will not kill him, but if he is truly fated to die once he speaks… He will die. The only thing that will change is who does it.
“Oh no, you to birthed a fated child.” He said coming closer. “Give him to me, let me see if a King’s blessing is enough.”
“You would do that?” I asked. “My father-” he cut me off.
“Your ‘father’ should try being one for once. Pass me the pup.” He said frimly. He held my son from under his armpits, and looked him in the eyes. A circle of orange smoke swirled around his feet… For a moment… The room felt as if Uriel entered, albeit a little corrupted. “I give you the blessing that a solution be found before it is too late. It is the best I can do, since I am not the fated wolf to save him, so says the Horned One himself.”
“So, I need to find another wolf?” I asked. I wracked my brain…
Tyson opened the way, and I was eternally greatful… It  isn’t the solution, but now I had a chance… I need to fix this before sunrise.”
“It’s all I’m allowed to say, and to succeed, do not speak of this first blessing, or it may be blocked by his fated status.” Tyson warned.
He passed me back Hillius, and my boy hugged my neck. He was old enough to understand what was going on, despite being born today. He already showed his contradictory nature, but that didn’t mean he would be a bad person.
His powers don’t automatically stamp him as a villain, at least, not by action. He’s done nothing, yet he must suffer for the crimes of previous Contradictions… to the gods, this power is a blight, but Arviel just couldn’t… He just couldn’t let this go.
First, he did shit like this for the sake of his ego. Now, he uses Lia as a scapegoat.
“Thank you.” I said bowing my head to the young man. He earned it, and my son copied him.
“Take your blessing and go. I do not wish for your time to be spent on pleasantries.”
I took off as light once more, but now I had a little clarity. I will try the next brother, and then their sister…. Then their father, or uncles.
I will change sides for this. Fuck the Light if all it gives me is grief…. If I lose my child, I will not remain one of his champions, and I will renounce my general status.
Lord Kaizen would likely be sleeping right now… Why didn’t the time zone change? We’re on the west coast, and they the east…
Fuck it. I’ll take what I can get from whoever. If I find out who, I’ll thank them.
I flew so fast this time that I zipped past the likes of Eternya, who caught onto me, and saw me as hostile.
“Land or die!” he shouted, teleporting behind me, but he only grabbed at my light trail. He was much to slow to catch me!
I zipped the opposite direction, and he got serious, sprouting his wings. We zipped across the sky, creating sonic booms whenever I dipped to the speed of sound. I assumed his pack thought they were under attack, but I was trying to get to their leader’s house without fighting his employees! I should have called, but I didn’t think too, so excited that a solution was made.
“You’re too late! HA!” I laughed as I was going a bit too fast…
I underestimated myself, being unable to slow down in time.
…. I crashed into Kaizen’s house.
“Ah!” both Kaizen and his mate simultaneously screamed, though Kaizen was readying himself for battle. The light was flicked on from the explosion since I put a very large, 10ft whole in the side of their home… and I felt pretty bad about it….
“What is the meaning of this?!” Growled Eternya. He jumped on my back, attempting to get to my jugular, and slit my throat with his claws, but my dancing around kept him from getting a good grip. The Bird King didn’t see my son, being so hyper-focused on me. He was starting to upset Hillius, who wasn’t crying yet… He hadn’t this entire time, but it was clear that he didn’t like violence. If Eternya kept it up, he might speak to tell us to stop, then all this would have been for nought…
“Get off! It’s me! I wanted you all to see!” I yelled happy enough to fill his bedroom with light… And now Kaizen’s pups fussed from all the commotion….
“It’s 4 in the fucking morning Herculian!” Yelled Kaizen, nearly tossing a pillow if not for the toddler in my arms…. Their father’s initial hostility made his pups squeak worse… “Damnit.”
“I got them.” Willow said shaking her head….
“Sorry… I wanted you to see Hillius… I wanted you to meet him, that you know he exists…” I held up my newborn baby boy…. “Come hold him.” I encouraged; I had a feeling this was the solution. It had to be… I don’t know Grace hardly at all…. I put my sun-kissed child in my friend’s arms before he could actually say anything.
I knew this was the right thing… Unlike the noble king, I somewhat bonded with his younger brother in battle. Kaizen was my shield brother… and if not for both brother’s efforts, I’d be dead.
“He smells like… like the sun.” Kaizen admitted. “Welcome to the world, and receive my blessing. Brother, why do you speak as if this is your son’s last day?”
“It very well may be… Father is dissatisfied with him….He is a Lesser Contradiction…” I said filled with shame. “That is my fault….”
It is wrong to covet what they have, yet look at how they treat their kin. Despite being the darker end of the spectrum, they seem to be the most welcoming. Without hesitation, they laid down their weapons to hear my grievance and without hesitation, I was welcomed into their home after the initial unrecognition….
