Chapter 112 CHAPTER 112

Chapter 112 CHAPTER 112
AVARA

I felt weak all over my body like I just got beaten up with a rod or something hard.

"My head," I groaned weakly, slowly opening my eyes, hearing voices around me.

The voices were familiar.

Hugo, Dean, Jay... "Alphas?" I uttered in a low voice, opening my eyes halfway to find myself in Hugo's bedroom.

At the foot of the bed, stood my Alphas with Elder Amon, angrily talking about Doveris and some accusation she made.

"If she really thinks we'll get rid of Avara, then she's out of her mind!" Hugo said with annoyance, placing both hands on his waist to cool his temper.

"Accusing Avara of being evil is something we cannot accept. She's our mate," Jay added angrily before taking a seat on the bed, next to my leg, placing his hand on my feet to ease his rage.

He massaged my toes gently and it calmed his temper.

I didn't move or shake when I felt his touch. I just laid there completely lost, trying to remember what happened.

My head was aching a little like I got a blow in the brain.

"Did I hit my head? Why are they talking about Doveris like that?" Those questions rang in my brain, as I listened to the Alphas vent over the sorceress's decision over me.

They didn't even know that I was awake. They were full of rage.

"Doveris? Accusing me of being evil?" I repeated those lines, shutting my eyes to ease the sharp ache that came flooding back in my head.

Seriously, why can't I remember what happened. And it's already evening. What happened to me?

As I kept my eyes shut, listening to the Alphas talk while I concentrated harder on Doveris who was the main topic in their mind... "DOVERIS!" My eyes came wide open when that raging call that sounded like me, roared in my head!

"I remember," I said in a low voice as memories of what that woman did this morning, came flooding back to me!

The dark energy, the trap, her accusations... I remember it all!

But how did I forget it all? Is this because of her attack on me?

"That voice... It was calling out to Doveris, chasing after her," I spoke out softly, remembering the image I last saw before I passed out.

That's when I felt a stroke on my head and heard a familiar soft voice call out to me with joy, "My Queen, you're awake!"

"Lily?" I tilted my head a little and found her sitting beside me, watching over me.

She has been by my side all this while and I didn't even know.

Lily looked so happy as her eyes glittered with tears of joy.

"You're okay," she said, letting her tears drop.

"Lily," I called with a smile, reaching for her hand on my head.

"Avara!" I heard my name from my Alphas, and directed my eyes in their direction, seeing joy in their eyes for me.

They didn't hesitate to rush over to my side, climbing into bed hurriedly, and carefully cuddling up against me emotionally.

"Thank the Goddess you're okay," Dean breathed a sigh of relief, taking hold of my right hand and kissing it passionately.

Hugo had his head resting lightly on my abdomen, as he caressed me and expressed his worry over my state.

"You've been out all morning. We were scared."

"We had to call one of the sorceresses to check up on you. She couldn't find any problem. That scared us even more," Jay added, taking his spot near my head, caressing my face.

"We're so glad that you're awake. I don't know what we'd have done if anything happened to you," Hugo said with pain in his voice, pulling near until his head was resting on my left bosom.

Dean cuddled me from the waist, placing my hand over his head, while Jay had his face pressed next to me, taking that chance to kiss me on the cheek.

I was touched and also sad.

They looked really scared. They were so worried about me.

I couldn't say a word but gave out a light smile, gently running my hands on them to comfort them.

Then I looked up at Amon, who wasn't happy with what happened, and said to him, "Don't blame yourself for believing in her, Amon. She's the one who broke your trust. Doveris just showed us where she truly stands."

"My Queen, I feel bad for not noticing this sooner. That day when she returned and held a meeting with us elders, I should have known right away from her tone that she was against you. Doveris..." He groaned, unable to complete his words.

"This isn't the Doveris we know. She has changed completely."

"She claims to be Aurora's faithful servant yet she went ahead to break one important rule of the werewolves, and that's practicing dark magic!" Jay spoke out in annoyance, lifting his head.

Jay and Hugo also sat up, ready to vent over Doveris's action, talking about the stunt she pulled on me today.

"If Avara hadn't felt that same energy coming from Doveris, we wouldn't have known," Hugo said, as they all looked at me.

"The negative energy you've been feeling all along, came from her. That's why you were uncomfortable and didn't want us calling her over to help. Your spirit found her troubling," Hugo added, reminding me of that day in the sitting room.

If he hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten about that too.

Seriously, why are my memories fading and reappearing when someone says something to trigger it?

Just as I was thinking about this, Amon suddenly asked, gaining my attention, "But Luna, how come you were able to feel such a dark aura around the palace and from Doveris?"

That question sparked a sudden interest in the Alphas, who stared at me curiously, waiting for my response.

"If I'm not mistaken, the..." Amon paused, like he was finding it hard to believe it.

"The last person who could detect auras like that was... Was Luna Aurora," he said, making my heart skip.

That got my Alphas' ears twitching with surprise, like they remembered something they forgot many years ago.

"That's true. Luna Aurora also had the same ability to detect such energy. I remember," Lily confirmed, siding with Amon.

"You're right. Aurora had the same gift," Hugo said as all three looked at me in surprise, finding this strange.

"How were you able to feel it?" Dean asked, taking hold of my hand.

I had no answer to that question but said, sitting up, "I don't know either. It could be my human sense at work or maybe the Goddess at work. Maybe she saw the danger ahead and decided to help me out."

"I mean..." I raised my arms up to my Alphas' noses and said with a smile, "I'm human. It's not like I possess werewolf abilities or magical powers."

"That's true. You're human," Jay said, sniffing my skin just for fun.

But when he took a sniff, he paused and stared at my arm all lost, like he noticed something.

"Jay," I called, pulling him out of his thought.

"Are you okay?" I asked, placing my hand on his face, caressing him.

He didn't answer yet but just smelt my scent from my hand, before letting out a smile, saying, "I'm okay."

I smiled, feeling better.

"What are we going to do about the sorceress?" Lily asked, sounding concerned.

"She has everyone backing her up in her plan to bring in a new Queen. I even heard from my fellow maid that the elders, even Elder Pesus, are planning to meet the sorceress tonight to discuss it."

"Of course Pesus would be included. He has never liked Luna Avara from day one. The only perfect Queen he recognizes is that Adira. And I can see now that Doveris wants that girl to take Avara's place," Amon spoke with detest, exposing their plot.

The plan was obvious to us when Doveris openly targeted me, revealing her true self to my Alphas.

"They can plan all they want. As long as we aren't in support of the hunt, Adira cannot take Avara's place in our hearts or on the throne," Hugo spoke with determination, as all three turned to look at me with a smile filled with love.

"You're our mate. That quest is incomplete without us," Dean added with a smirk, leaning down next to me.

I had full faith in their love and loyalty towards me, but I was concerned about the pack which belongs to Aurora.

"What if Doveris uses the people against you? Remember the pack belongs to Aurora and..."

"And as her mates, we also have rights over Crescent Moon," Jay answered before I could finish my words.

"Doveris cannot send us away. If she does, she will lose the people's trust. Crescent pack will never be the same if we leave," Hugo said, calming my worry.

"Ever since Aurora left us, we have been taking care of the pack, seeing to it that it remains fruitful and blessed just like the way she does. If we leave, everything will crumble."

"Crescent Moon will fall," I added, watching them nod in confirmation.

"No, we can't let that happen," I said within, having so much concern for this place.

I may be a human from a different world but I am now Crescent Moon's Queen and Aurora's successor.

As the Luna, it is my duty to keep this pack safe the way Aurora always wanted it to be.

I can't allow Doveris to drive me away. I... I...

"Avara, what's wrong?!" Jay called out in a panic, grabbing me quickly!

My mind went blank and I became weak, almost falling backwards.

But Jay swiftly caught me with his arm, pulling me up.

"Avara!"

"My Queen!"

They all gathered me with worry in their voices, as Dean sent Lily out to call back the sorceress who attended to me while I was unconscious.

"What's wrong with her?" Jay asked, wrapping his arms around me so I wouldn't fall.

With my head on his chest and my eyes going blurry with each second, I managed to open my mouth to speak, telling them what was happening to me.

"My memories... I think Doveris did something to me," I said, noticing my Alphas and Amon had gone silent.

Their blood must be boiling just hearing the sorceress's name for the one millionth time.

"When I woke up, I couldn't remember what happened this morning. In fact, I couldn't remember some past events until I hear a word that triggers it," I added, lifting my head a little as the blurry vision ceased.

I could see everyone's face again, and they didn't look pleased.

"I won't spare Doveris for this. She's no longer welcome here! She has to leave!" Jay snapped, petting me.

Dean said, swaying his head at Jay's wish, "Getting rid of her won't be easy. Remember, dark magic? Who knows what she'll unleash on us when we order her out from the pack."

"That's true. Now that she's plotting this new quest and we've refused to give up on Avara, she might use some kind of mind controlling spell to get us," Hugo made a point which left all of us disturbed.

They almost forgot about that part.

I was more bothered about this because if she really has such a spell, then taking my Alphas away would be a problem.

I'll be all alone. She'll use them to kick me out of this world and out of their lives for good.

No, I can't let that happen.

There has to be a way to bring Doveris down. But how?

"I will not allow anything to happen to my Alphas and to my Queen," Amon spoke with deep loyalty and concern for our relationship and for the throne.

"If we want to put Doveris in her place, I suggest we look for a sorcerer or sorceress who can match up to her energy and take her down."

"But where are we going to find one, Amon? Doveris is the most powerful sorceress known to every creature in this world."

"Well she used to be like every other magic holder until Aurora gave her a place in this pack, helped her in increasing her skills through learning and training. If Aurora could build her up, then we can do the same," Amon tabled a strong point, winning the Alphas over.

They knew finding someone on Doveris's level would be hard at the moment. But if we train one of the magic holders of Crescent Moon pack, someone we can really trust, then we can do it.

"Don't worry, your Majesties. Doveris cannot succeed," Amon promised us, as the Alphas calmly gave out a sigh, resting their heads on me.

"Don't worry, Avara. No one will separate us," they spoke, suppressing my racing heart.
