Chapter 113 CHAPTER 113

Chapter 113 CHAPTER 113
AVARA

"I really can't feel anything, your Majesties," The sorceress responded, using her powers to feel my head.

I was sitting on the bed in silence, while the Alphas stood by my side, along with Amon and Lily, watching with worry all over their faces.

I lifted my eyes at the serious sorceress, who was doing everything she could to figure out why I keep losing my memories.

She's the same sorceress who got mad at Adira when she accused the magic holders for being weak to stop the demon bats from breaking into the pack.

Her name's Valerie. She's one of Crescent Moon's best magic holders. She was the one who honored the Alphas' calls for help when I passed out.

Turns out she became my fan after stopping the Demon bat Shaman and putting Adira to shame. She also doesn't believe the lies Doveris told to ruin my image.

"I really can't feel a thing," She repeated with a dull confused look, turning to face the Alphas.

"I have searched her system and I can't feel any dark magic within. Maybe she suffered from a brief head condition when she was overwhelmed by the sorceress's powers," Valerie analyzed, retreating her magic energy.

The Alphas weren't pleased with this feedback. They really believed Doveris did something to me, but with what Valerie said, they had to put that aside and think about my well being.

"Can you prepare a herb to cease this memory loss?" Hugo asked, as Lily sat by my side, giving me comfort.

Just as Valerie was about to respond while the last string of her power was leaving me, "Wait," She paused, looking at me immediately like she sensed something strange.

Her sudden expression left us confused, especially me. I felt weirded out by the way she stared into my eyes, and even tried to avoid her eye lock.

"Is there a problem, Sorceress Valerie?" I asked, arching my brow.

No response, just silence.

Then... "I felt something," She said softly and stretched her hand towards my face, as her power flowed right back out of her palm, going into me for the second time.

Her sudden reaction got the Alphas and Amon's curiosity rising, as they asked her what she felt.

"You sensed it, didn't you?" Jay spoke with concern laced in his voice, taking a step behind Valerie.

She couldn't speak but closed her eyes so she could focus.

I gulped and also stayed still, glancing at my Alphas' worried faces, as they gave me an assuring smile that clearly said they were here for me.

That look in their eyes gave me hope and calmed my troubling heart.

Suddenly... I felt something in me shift, like it was going to throw me off the bed but held back because of a force!

"What the hell was that?" That question lingered in my head, as my expression changed and my eyes came settling on a focused Valerie.

She still had her eyes closed.

"Is she the one that caused that movement inside my body?" I wondered, still looking at her face.

That's when I noticed Valerie's face twitch with a sudden flash of fear! Then her eyes finally opened, and she stared at me like she has just seen a ghost!

"Sorceress, what's wrong?" I asked, watching her pupils shift from normal to wolf eyes, with fright.

"What is it?" Amon asked, drawing closer

"What did you find?" Dean questioned as well, as he, Hugo, and Jay, surrounded Valerie and me, desperate to know what the young sorceress found.

She kept looking at me, silent and lost.

Her stares began to trouble my heart, making me hold on to Lily's hand, squeezing it tight for support.

That's when Valerie, who still had gaze locked with mine, gave out a soft sigh to calm her fear and said, "There's something inside you, Luna. Something unwanted that's holding you back."

"Huh?" I uttered, looking down at myself with my left hand touching my chest like I could reach whatever Valerie was talking about.

"You're right, your Majesties," She spoke, making me lift my head to look back at her.

Valerie pulled back her powers from me and said, turning to face the Alphas, "There are traces of dark magic inside the Luna's body, trying to suppress her memories."

"Doveris!" The Alphas growled with pure hate on hearing the result.

"And that old hag acted like she didn't do anything!" Jay snapped, running his hand through his hair to stay calm.

But Valerie wasn't done.

"Whatever spell Doveris cast on Luna Avara, can't be easily detected. I have never felt such energy before. I'm just thankful to the Goddess for showing me a sign quickly," she said, turning to face me with a worried look in her eyes.

Her gaze felt strange to me, like she wants to say something else but can't open up.

"So, is there a way to wash this spell out of her system?" Amon asked with concern, as a worried Lily held on to me, getting scared about my condition.

Valerie gave out another sigh, but this one sounded helpless, as she responded to Amon's question, "Maybe. I'll try."

"We really need to act fast before it's too late. I fear the Luna might lose her entire memories if we don't find the cure as soon as possible. She... She doesn't have much time," Valerie revealed the biggest issue, frightening us all.

I was more terrified than the others, as I squeezed Lily's hand tight, breathing heavily.

"I don't want to lose my memories. If that happens, I'll forget everyone, Lily, Amon, my Alphas... No, I can't!" I panicked in my head, shivering.

Dean and Jay saw how shaky I was and immediately got into bed to comfort me.

"Please, do whatever you can to find the cure. Even if we have to send guards into far away lands to find the ingredients needed, we'll do it. Just don't let her memories fade away, please," Hugo pleaded with fear, turning to stare at my trembling figure.

"I don't want to lose my memories," Those shaky words slipped out of my mouth, hitting everyone right in the chest.

"My Queen, listen..." Valerie spoke, going on her knees before me, taking hold of my hands.

She gave me a smile and said, caressing my hands, "Please, don't be afraid. As your loyal servant, I vow to the heavens and to the Goddess, that I, Sorceress Valerie of Crescent Moon, will find the cure and heal you."

My hands were shaking, but with everyone's support and Valerie's words, I was beginning to feel calm.

Her smile grew bigger when she noticed my trembling hands had ceased. Then she said, holding on to my hands with determination, "You might not know this but you are very important to us, Luna. Your coming to our world wasn't a mistake. It was for a reason. This pack needs you. "

My heart glowed as she said this.

It didn't just make me feel better, it pleased my Alphas, Amon, and Lily as well.

"I don't want you to let the words of that woman get to you. She's blind to see the real you. So, please, don't be afraid. The cure will be found, I promise."

"Thank you, Valerie," I smiled, caressing her hands back.

The young sorceress smiled and gently pulled away, rising to her feet.

Then she lifted her eyes at my Alphas and warned, looking serious, "Your Majesties, I'll advise you to watch over the Luna every hour and every day. If her condition kicks in again, who knows what would happen."

"Nothing will happen to our Queen. We'll be by her side always," Dean assured her with confidence, petting me on the head.

Jay and Hugo also promised to never let me out of their sight.

"With Doveris's insane order to kick Avara out, we have to be extremely sharp and protective around her," Jay said, smiling at me.

"I'll be by my Queen's side always. I will never leave you," Lily spoke up boldly from where she now stood, touching me deeply with her eagerness to protect me.

"We'll protect the Luna, Valerie. Thank you very much," Amon appreciated the sorceress's help, as she bowed at us, preparing to leave.

Before Lily escorted her out of the room, the young sorceress gave me one last look filled with hope and joy, leaving me a bit confused by her behavior.

Is it me or did something in her change?

I didn't say a word but smiled at her, until she was gone.

.

Two days later, I was kept under surveillance by my Alphas, who didn't leave my side even for a second.

Even when Doveris started the Quest outside the palace gate, selecting five maidens—including Adira— to contest in the hunt, they didn't move or step out to chase them away.

In fact, we just watched from above, as my Alphas frowned over this with disgust, groaning.

Funny enough, not everyone showed up to this special event Doveris planned. The gathering was few, showing Doveris that I still had the upper hand here.

Pesus was present, standing in like he's still the head of elders, telling everyone to forget my existence and focus more on picking a rightful Queen who'll succeed over Aurora.

His words angered my Alphas even more, and I had to calm their temper, leading them away.

Later, towards the evening, as we sat together at the dining room to have our meal, Elvador came rushing into the room speedily, breathing heavily!

"Elvador? What's the matter?" Hugo asked, as we all got to our feet, waiting on his reply.

That's when Elvador said, sounding extremely shocked, "The pack... There's something huge coming towards us!"

"What?" We all uttered in confusion, drawing away from our table!

The moment we did that, the loud piercing sound of the thunder clapped so loudly, shocking us to the core!

What followed next was the cries and screams of the people, like they were running away from a terror!

"What's going on?!" My Alphas dashed out of the room at once, following Elvador!

I also wanted to see this, so Lily, who has been by my side throughout, joined me as we ran out of the dining room, trying to match up with the Alphas' pace.

I could hear more screams like the people had surrounded the palace and were begging for our help!

"What's happening?" I asked with so much worry, reaching the entrance.

On running outside to see what the problem was, I was immediately left stunned at what I saw!

The sky... It looked bloody red with lightning and thunder shooting through the dark clouds!

Ahead, coming from the North, was a huge hurricane, swirling its way towards the pack!

And like that wasn't enough to terrify everyone, just above the magical dome protecting the pack, something —not one, not two, not even twenty— was pounding hard on the shield, trying to get through!

"Are those demon bats?!" Lily swiftly identified the creatures, as we all stared in shock!

The demon bats are back?!

I thought we drove them away for good?!

And this sudden change happening around us... Is this their doing?!

My answer came in a jiffy when I noticed more demon bats flying towards us from the very direction the hurricane was coming!

That said it all. They brought this strong wind with them!

"But the Shaman is dead. How... This..." I stammered, feeling so confused!

My Alphas also noticed the demon bats flying close to the hurricane.

"Did they get a new Shaman?"

"That seems to be the only answer to this strange event."

"Round up the magic holders at once!"

"Already done that, Alpha Hugo!" Elvador responded, as the voices of the terrified people flooded our eardrums.

They were standing outside the gate, calling on us to save them.

Their scared faces got to me deeply.

"Oh God, we can't let these bats harm this pack the second time. We..." I paused my inner prayer and looked towards the crowds, around the palace, then up at the magic shield, noticing something off.

"Where's Doveris?" I asked for everyone around me to hear.

"That's true. Where is she?" Jay repeated, as they all looked towards the crowds then at the guards, waiting for a reply.

But there was none.

Where is Doveris?!
