Killian.
Damn this bitch! She surely enjoyed playing on me.
If only I didn’t need something from her, I should have killed her.
Yes, I was impatient. But who would not be? It hurt my pride that a witch dared to mess with me and I couldn't do something because, reality check, I needed her help.
She was the key to finding my mate.
“Why not now? What else do you want? Tell me. I am willing to give it to you, just bring me to her!” I snarled at the witch.
“Don’t worry, Your Highness, I am not asking for more. I am willing to help as best as I can. Besides, no one succeeds in messing with time...” she stopped in mid-sentence.
Really, now. She was too confident, huh? Then why did she still let her friend change her fate if she really thinks no one succeeds in messing with time.
“Then what is pulling you back? Why don’t you just bring me to her time?” I am running out of patience with this one.
“I can only make a portal once in a century, Your Highness.” She said without remorse.
“What?!”
Was she kidding me?! Should I wait for a century to travel in time?
“No, you don’t have to wait that long. It’s less than a decade. The last time I created a portal for another friend was more or less ninety years ago.”
Huh?
“Didn’t you say Laura just tried to change her fate? Don’t tell me she is more than a ninety-year old she-wolf?”
Werewolves could not age long like that. Only lycans could live in the millenniums.
“I’m talking about a different person. What I gave Laura wasn’t the full travel. It was a timed portal. Her time ticked when she entered it and she came to the same place she left. It was just the time that differed. The portal I wanted to create for you was a lot better. The one that you can control. You set your own time. You can go back at will. And the portal will bring you to the place you aimed to be. If not exact then at least nearby,” she patiently explained.
That was tempting enough. But I didn’t want to wait that long. I wanted to follow my future assassin.
“Then, just create a time portal then. I want to finish her off.”
Saskia broke into a small smile.
“Aren’t you being too confident? You can’t find her with the timed portal. You will need a lot of time to search for her though. We don’t know what race she will be born into in her next life,” she commented with confidence.
I gritted my teeth. How dare she insult me!
“… and besides, I can only make a timed portal once in a decade, so…” Saskia added.
Ugh, that sucks! Why did her power have limitations? I thought she was powerful enough.
“You see? I can’t do anything for you right now, Your Highness. You really need to wait… to ‘patiently’ wait.” She stressed the word patiently as if knowing that my character had never been patient.
I would not be surprised if she could read my character. She was a witch, after all.
I sighed. I never accept defeat. But since she said we can’t do anything for now, what else should I do but wait?
Since there was no threat in my peace for a decade, I can go easy with life for now.
“If that’s the case, I will meet you in a decade then,” I answered.
Saskia nodded with respect.
“And I will be more than happy to meet you again, Your Highness,” she said. “My place was just near ger
I doubt her words. Why would she be happy to know that I will come back again to kill her friend in her next life?
Looking at Saskia, I could tell that she was unbothered. I almost thought that Laura wasn’t her real friend, or had never been considered one.
But I didn’t want to give a fck about that. I quickly left the cliff without saying goodbye.
I couldn’t wait for a decade.
I wanted to see Laura.
No, I wanted to kill her.
Killing her was the only reason why I was feeling restless. That was the only reason why I wanted to pull the hands of time, so I could meet her again.
That was just it! Nothing more.

Saskia.
I watched the lycan Prince leave like that. Given what he is, he was so fast that no one would realize he was already gone. He disappeared in an instant.
Well, I knew most lycans were rude and incredibly full of themselves.
But the lycan Prince…
I can tell that he needs to prepare himself. Now that he already found his mate, he would probably change. Especially since I was certain Laura would not be born as a werewolf again.
“How are you going to adjust, Your Highness?”
I could not help but whisper in the air.
I saw how the lycan Prince reacted upon seeing Laura fade into thin air. I could see how devastated he was.
And no…
It wasn’t because he couldn’t kill her with his own hands. If Prince Killian really aimed to kill his mate, he would not be devastated seeing Laura fade away. He should be happy. He should be laughing to his heart's content.
But he wasn’t. He was as if he lost something very important. He looks like a big part of him was taken from him.
That’s why I was confident he would not kill my poor friend. The mate bond was too powerful to ignore.
It is why Prince Killian was restless while having a conversation with me. His wolf was longing for his mate. He badly wants to come to her and be with her.
Too bad he wasn’t able to recognize his own feelings. Or maybe, he was just trying to fight it because he knew his mate was destined to kill him.
“Come to think of it,” I sighed and looked up at the sky.
“Why are you being so cruel to your favored Luna, Moon Goddess?” I mindlessly asked at the brightly shining moon. “In her first life, you didn’t give her the most important thing she should have, her wolf. You even vanished her and replaced her from her own timeline. And now, you are giving her the curse to kill her own mate. What are your plans for her? Because I honestly don’t understand.”
The night sky was filled with shining stars, like fairy dust. And the beautiful moon seems to enjoy being surrounded by it. It was a calm night. No one would ever think that something awful happened in this very place.
I looked around and watched the direction where Laura’s ashes faded away.
“I am going to miss you, my friend. See you in your next life. For now, I will be busy looking after your newly created self. Sabrina was still you. And you are still the favored Luna of this pack.”
