Chapter 49 – I Did Everything For You

Special Chapter - Elliot's POV

It has been a few years since I found my mate and today is a very special day for her.

You see, today, she will be graduating in the high school. My mate is very smart. She easily topped her whole batch and is graduating with first honor. Because of that, she will give a graduation speech.

I fix the tie on my neck to check if I am looking okay.

Of course, I am not planning to meet my mate today. I was just... hoping to watch her as she graduates. I also just want to hear her speech from afar.

My world is currently very chaotic. As part of the werecouncil, I know that a great enemy is lurking around and is planning on attacking soon. Moreover, my... father is not ready yet to perform his duties. I am not planning on bringing my beautiful mate into my dangerous life right now.

The graduation hall of their school is big and nicely decorated. Still, I think that it is not enough to glorify the achievement of my Iris.

The ceremony starts and I patiently wait for the time when Iris will be called into the stage. My eyes are never leaving her figure as she sits in the audience with her classmates.

Finally, Iris is called on the stage. I feel my heart starts to beat a little faster as my eyes burn into the figure as she walks to the stage and holds the microphone.

She is really... so beautiful and her voice is so enchanting.

She talked about some serious stuff, but I can clearly see the hint of goofiness and pride in her eyes. She is so loveable and my heart is full just by watching her.

After her graduation, I secretly follow her from afar. I see her laughing happily as she say goodbye to her classmates. Suddenly, I realize that my Iris has grown so much and she is going to be a college student soon.

My heart swells with pride as I think of her achievements.

That night, I lay my back on the soft grass as I look at my phone which contains Iris' graduation photo. I touch her face through the screen and smile at her smiling face.

My love, I feel happiness just seeing you like this.

Suddenly, my phone buzz and I see her message.

"E - I graduated today. Please congratulate me!" I read the message and smile.

I made this application in order to talk to her and be with her from afar. And this application, it is the best thing that I ever did in my life.

"Congratulations, love!" I enter the message that I have been wanting to tell her the whole day.

"I am so proud of myself! E - soon, I will be a college student. Then I will start working! I can't wait to work in a big corporation and earn lots and lots of money!" She replies to me.

"Do you want to work in a big corporation?" I ask her.

"Of course! It's my dream :D"

"How big do you want it to be?" I curiously ask her.

"I want to work in one of the top corporation in Europe!" Iris answer.

I stare at her message before I reply, "Okay."

That night, I start to learn about the human business. From then, I take the courses in order to understand how to start a top corporation in Europe.

It was Elliot's birthday and Iris was busy baking a cake. It was the first time for her to bake something, so she had been messing it up. However, Iris was determined to make it herself.

Fortunately, the cake looked decent when it was done.

It was already dinner time when Elliot returned from work. Iris' stomach was already somehow big and Elliot convinced her to be on a maternity leave. However, she insisted that Elliot shouldn't stop working just to accompany her at home. In the end, the husband went to earn more money while the wife learned to... of course, save more money!

"Happy Birthday!" Iris greeted her husband the moment he entered the house.

Elliot gave her a very brilliant smile as he swoop her in his arms.

"Thank you, my wife." He said as he dipped his head and kissed Iris on her lips.

"I made a cake for you!" Iris proudly said as she presented the cake to Elliot. Elliot looked like he received the most expensive jewelry when he saw the cake.

"Cut it!" Iris excitedly said as she gave the cake knife to Elliot. Elliot was confused as to why she was in a hurry. Still, he did everything she asked so he obediently cut the cake.

Suddenly, he felt something hard from inside the cake. He raised his brow and saw that it was ring.

"This is my gift for you." Iris told him as she took the ring from his and washed it before putting it on his fingers. It was the ring that she lost when the hostage takers got her things. Thankfully, with the help of Lilly, she was able to retrieve it.

"Don't take it out. It's your wedding ring." She softly told him before she was immediately pulled into Elliot's embrace.

"Thank you so much, my love." Elliot whispered in her ears. Iris sighed. Being in Elliot's arms was the best thing in the world for her.

"My birthday is also coming near. I want something for my birthday gift." Iris suddenly said.

"I will give you anything that you want." Elliot smiled at her.

"Really? Okay then... remember the blank IOU that I signed before we got married?" Iris said smilingly.

Elliot slowly nodded as he looked into Iris' eyes.

"Anything... except that." Was all Elliot said as he gave his wife a wicked smile.
