Chapter 48 – Confession Time!

"So you are telling me that Dad is really my father-in-law and Lilly is my mother-in-law?" Iris eyes were wide as she pronounced the words.

Finally, Iris asked the question after a few hours from seeing Lucas and Lilly in their living room.

Iris and Elliot were in the study room and the two were sitting on each side of the table as if they were negotiating a multi-million dollar deal.

"Well, yes. They are my only set of parents. However, I was born from their former bodies. What they possess now are their new bodies where they were reincarnated in." Elliot carefully said as he looked at his wife who was looking pale. Instantly, he reached out for her hand.

"It's... a lot to take. I'm sorry, my love." He softly told her as he tenderly held her hand.

Iris, however, took her hand away from him.

"No.. no. That's not it!"

"I know about reincarnation. I read hundreds of stories about them!" Iris said with a passion.

"The problem is... I took my mother-in-law to buy your underwear!" She groaned as she covered her face with her hands.

Elliot blanked a moment before he chuckled.

"But, I haven't seen the underwear that you bought for me?"

"I didn't buy it! The sizes in the mall were too small for you." Iris said without thinking.

"..." Elliot was rendered speechless by his wife. Of course, it was only for a few seconds before he cheekily said, "Shall I tell you the store where I usually buy my underwear?"

Iris blinked and looked at Elliot's face with expectancy.

"Do they sell tight black boxers?" She whispered to him as her eyes twinkled.

"I...am not sure." Elliot pondered for a second before answering, "I can look up if you want?" He seriously said which earned a nod from Iris.

After a few moment, Iris smiled at him before she reached out a hand to caress his face.

"You were saying that you are a werewolf and that I am your mate - the soulmate equivalent in your kind." She asked him.

Elliot leaned his face on her hand and softly said, "Yes. You are my soulmate."

Iris chuckled. "Does it mean that you will stay with me forever?"

Elliot looked deeply into her eyes and slowly said, "Yes. I have no choice. Because I feel like I'm going to die if you aren't by my side."

It was a sweet statement but Iris bit her lower lip and retracted her hand from his face.

She was very happy with what he said. However, she felt a little twitch in her heart when he told her that 'he has no choice.'

Thankfully, Elliot knew what was going on in Iris mind. Thus, he stood up and carefully held her in his arms.

"I indeed have no choice. After all, who told my heart to fall deeply in love with you." Elliot softly whispered in her ears which made Iris face warm.

Did he just tell me that he loves me? She thought.

Elliot chuckled and softly kissed her furrowed brows. "Yes, I just told you that I love you." He answered her question.

Iris blinked as she felt that Elliot pulled her closer to his body.

"Iris Rose, I love you... from the bottom of heart and with every inch of my body." He softly whispered to her. "And I will love you, not only in this lifetime, but also until our next life... and our next next life."

Iris felt lips formed a smile with his confession as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

"Hubby... I don't really fully understand the concept of a mate."

"But I know that I am your wife." She softly told him.

"I am just an ordinary human. But with my ordinary human heart, I know that I love you. With all my heart, I do." Iris said as she inhaled his intoxicating smell.

Elliot felt that his heart was going to burst from happiness. He held Iris' head and smashed his lips on hers.

Iris kissed him just as passionately. With their lips they told their feelings of love for each other.

It was such a touching moment for the two of them. However, Iris suddenly thought of something which caused her to push Elliot's face away from her's.

"What's wrong?" Elliot asked her. His brows were furrowed with worry as he saw her pale face.

"Hubby! I forgot to ask something very important!" Iris exclaimed.

"Tell me honestly. Will my baby... will my baby bark?"
