Chapter 45 – I Use It Because It Is Convenient

Iris was startled when she saw that everyone around her started falling on the ground one after the other. Fortunately, she felt Lilly’s hand on her back which comforted her.

“Lilly, did they die?” Iris voice was a little shaky.

“No, they just fell asleep.” Lilly answered her. Iris didn’t know the reason why Lilly said that. However, she believed in her words and relief came rushing through her body.

Suddenly, a huge blue-green fire engulfed the entrance and the roof of the warehouse where they were in. Surprisingly, the flames felt cool. However, they were so destructive as the entrance and the roof instantly turned into dust upon contact with it.

Everyone was astonished with what they saw.

The masked men, however, didn’t panic. Instead, like robots, they made a formation to face the incoming enemy.

Then, a few hundreds of masked men with scary weapons and several hundreds of… wolves came into Iris’ view. Iris was astonished as she felt that her eyes turned into saucers.

However, the next scene surprised Iris much more.

She saw her husband, Elliot, walked from the middle of the blue-green fire. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans – something that Iris never seen him wore before.

Elliot’s eyes met Iris before he closed it. When he opened them again, his irises were already red.

Suddenly, Iris felt a greenish blanket-like aura covering her and the people on the ground. She was once again startled. However, she felt Lilly’s gentle hand on her back as the latter said, “Don’t worry. I just put a protective barrier over us.”

Iris felt that her mouth almost fell on the ground when she saw Lilly with... shining green eyes.

“Tsk. You found us fast.” Iris heard a crooked voice and a foreign looking man came out. When he arrived, the masked men immediately surrounded him with a protective stance.

“You are using the humans to hide?” Elliot asked him.

“Why not? You are not allowed to use your powers against innocent humans, right? Let me tell you. Every human being here is innocent. I am just controlling their bodies but they retained their free will. Even now they must be freaking out on what is happening. So you have no choice but to help me escape.” The foreign looking man laughed.

Elliot stood still and gave the foreign man a deep look as a few more figures arrived beside him.

Iris’ mind turned blank when she saw Lucas and Bella standing beside Elliot.

“Deal with the runt. I’ll deal with the rogues.” Lucas softly said before he raised his hand. Suddenly, tyrannical flames engulfed the thousand rogues. They didn’t even have the time to make a one step forward when they all turned into ashes.

“What!” The foreign looking man screamed.

He couldn’t believe his eyes. He knew that the Royalty of the Wolves recently returned. He also knew that the King of the Wolves have the power of tyrannical fire and he could kill tens of thousands of enemies with the flick of his wrist.

However, he couldn’t understand why the King of the Wolves was here!

Still, the foreign guy calmed himself down. Even if they are more powerful, he knew that he could still escape if he used the humans. He already told them that the humans were still conscious and they could see what was happening. However, the control of their bodies was already with him. The King of the Wolves wouldn’t allow the innocent humans to get hurt. Thus, he has no choice but to let him go.

As he was thinking that, however, he felt that his control over the bodies of the humans was quickly being severed. In a matter of seconds, his control over the humans was gone.

No, it was transferred to another!

His eyes bulged as he looked at the first man who arrived.

“You! I clearly saw that your power was fire! With its intensity, it wasn’t possible for you to have another power!” He screamed as his body fell into panic.

Elliot just calmly looked at him as he ordered the humans to put their distance to the man. Immediately, green veil of aura

covered the humans to protect them from the rampaging foreign man.

“Who told you that my power was controlling fire?” Elliot calmly asked as strong blades of wind suddenly attacked the foreign man.

“I am only using fire since it was the most convenient.” Elliot added.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the warehouse, the frozen Iris watched the situation as her mind said, "..."
