Of course, I knew!

Chapter 46 – Of course, I knew!

Lucas’ lips twitched as he heard his son’s statement. However, he couldn’t dispute it as what he said was the truth.

Elliot was born from the most powerful being in the lower realm and the first queen of the wolves. So, it wasn’t surprising that his powers are more than special.

In fact, Lucas has always thought that Elliot’s gift was the most formidable power to deal with. If he was an enemy… then it would be really troublesome to deal with him.

Basically, Elliot could imitate the power of another as long as he saw them using it. Moreover, he could even use any power to a great level. Thus, he was basically undefeatable.

Just now, Elliot saw the foreign man used his power to compel the humans in forming into a meat shield for him. Elliot watched him and imitated his power. The difference was Elliot’s control was so much more powerful than the foreign man. Thus, he just needed a few seconds to wrestle the control over the humans.

Once Elliot saw that the humans put a distance to the foreign man, he immediately sent a huge whirlpool to him. And, in a matter of a second, the foreign man disappeared into nothingness. Not even his blood could be seen.

Iris saw everything that happened. She saw the blue-green fire turned the building into dust. She saw… a thousand wolves lining as if they were an army. She also saw how Lucas used the tyrannical flames to turn the thousands of wolves into ashes and how Lilly covered them with a green shield.

Moreover, she clearly saw her husband, Elliot, sent a huge whirlpool to the enemy before the latter vanished without a trace.

So many thoughts ran in Iris’ mind. Suddenly, she pinched herself to check if she was just dreaming. Surprisingly, she felt pain from the pinch.

I’m not dreaming? Iris thought as she found Elliot’s eyes.

Elliot was stuck standing in the place where the entrance of the warehouse was once built. His body was rigid as he looked over his wife’s face.

She clearly saw everything. Was everything that was inside Elliot’s mind.

At that moment, he was… really afraid.

She must be scared. Will she leave me? Elliot thought as he felt his whole body turned cold.

Everyone was quiet as they allowed Iris time to digest everything that she saw. Elliot, on the other hand, felt his heart shook and his nose was turning sour.

He had decided before that if ever she leaves him, he would go after her. If she didn’t want him, then he would spend the rest of his days silently loving and protecting her.

However, now that he was facing the fact, he didn’t know if he could do it. He felt his knees were becoming weak with the thought of Iris not wanting him.

Iris looked at her husband who was looking really pale. The might that he shown earlier was gone. All Iris could see was the pain and fear in his eyes.

Iris moved a slow step forward to the frozen Elliot. The latter was startled and stopped breathing. Instantly, her heart felt pain for him.

Thus, she ran fast and hugged him.

Elliot's mind was blank as he felt Iris’ soft body crash into his.

“I was so scared.” Iris cried on his chest. Elliot’s heart went cold when he heard her.

“I… I’m so sorry I scared you.” He stuttered.

“Huh?” Iris looked up and saw that Elliot’s eyes and nose were red. His whole face was screaming hurt and fear.

“Silly hubby! I was scared because I was taken in as a hostage victim! I wasn’t scared because of you!” Iris almost laughed as she said this.

Elliot blinked as he looked deeply into Iris’ eyes. Elliot took a few moments before he reacted.

“You were… not scared of me?” He carefully asked to check if he heard her right.

“Of course I wasn’t!" Iris insisted.

"I always knew you weren’t a normal person! I’ve always seen your eyes turned red when you get super turned on! And your speed when you can’t wait to bring me to bed was anything but normal!” She scolded him.
