Chapter 42 – Shopping Again With Lilly

A soft gust of wind made Lilly's skirt flutter. She and Iris agreed to meet in the plaza near the mall they came to before. Since Lilly was worried that Iris wouldn't be able to find her, she decided to stand in the middle of the plaza.

Lilly was a very beautiful young woman. Because of that, and owing to the fact that she had a long beautiful silver hair, dazzling emerald eyes, and elegant demeanor, she caught the attention of everyone in the plaza as the people stopped their tracks and gaze at her.

Lilly noticed this and felt embarrassed with the stares she was receiving. Still, she held her ground and elegantly received the attentions being given to her. As such, she looked more dazzling in the eyes of the surrounding people.

This was the scene that Iris saw when she arrived. In fact, she was also dazzled by Lilly's beauty when she first saw her mesmerizing figure standing in the middle of a crowded plaza.

"Lilly!" Iris called her as she walked faster and gave Lilly a hug. Lilly was surprised by her actions before she recovered quickly and gently hugged Iris back.

"You shouldn't run. How are you?" Lilly softly asked Iris.

Iris squinted her nose when she heard Lilly's gentle reprimand. She didn't know why, but she felt like a child who was just scolded by her mother.

"Sorry. I was too excited when I saw you. I feel alright!" She smiled at Lilly and held her hand.

Lilly gave her a pat on the head and smiled. "It's good if you feel alright. Let's go in the mall? The sunlight is quite getting strong."

Iris agreed and the two beautiful women left the plaza filled of their admirers.

The two of them directly went to the jewelry shop.

"How was the online job that I referred to you?" Iris asked Lilly.

"Oh. It's fine. The pay is good, although I can only do it for an hour a day." Lilly answered her. "Lately, I had been busy with things so I cannot work more. That's why I still don't have enough to buy wedding ring for my husband and I." She added.

"It will take some time to save money. It is okay, Lilly. Don't work too hard." Iris tried to comfort her.

"Yes. I have a lot of time to save up. My husband just has to wait a little longer." Lilly chuckled as she thought of her husband.

"Miss, here is the ring." The two women looked up to see a sale staff holding a ring box. Iris reached out and took the ring out of the box. The ring has a simple design and was made of white gold with an embedded small diamond in the middle. It looked elegant and Iris thought that it would look perfect on Elliot's ring finger.

She had been decided on buying it when they visited the store for the first time. Thus, Iris quickly finished the transaction and bought the ring.

"What do you want to eat for lunch?" Lilly suddenly asked Iris when the two went out of the store. It was only then that Iris realized that lunch time was already approaching. I probably ate too many pastries for breakfast that my stomach didn't realize it is lunch time already. She thought.

"Uhm. What do you want to eat, Lilly? I'll bring you anywhere since you seldom come here!" Iris replied to Lilly.

Lilly didn't answer for a few second before she asked Iris, "How about some chicken sandwiches and fruit juice?"

Iris mind instantly thought of the crispy and juicy chicken inside two soft pieces of bread and her stomach suddenly growled. Iris was surprised and checked if Lilly heard it. Fortunately, Lilly was looking ahead and didn't seem to notice her stomach.

Iris secretly sigh a breath of relief.

"Then, let's go grab some chicken sandwiches!" She excitedly said and she pulled the smiling Lilly.

Lilly and Iris were sitting on a table inside a restaurant. Even though it was a weekday, the restaurant, as well as the surrounding stores, were surprisingly really crowded. Iris noticed it but didn't think that anything was amiss. On the other hand, Lilly furrowed her brows as she observed the surrounding.

Their food arrived fast and the two started eating their lunch. Iris, the one who claimed that she wasn't hungry before Lilly mentioned lunch, was eating with gusto. Suddenly, she felt Lilly' hand over hers as the former leaned close to her and said, "Iris, there is something weird going on in our surrounding. Whatever happened, you shouldn't panic. You will be safe, I promise."

Iris blinked in surprise with what she heard. It seemed like just recently, she heard the same words from her husband before a fire started to ravage the club where they were in. Iris was about to ask Iris what she meant with her words when she suddenly heard people screaming. Suddenly, she heard a loud bang and someone harshly said, "Everyone quietly follow me! We will shoot anyone who will resist!" Iris eyes widened as she looked as the entrance of the restaurant which was occupied with several masked men with big guns.
