Chapter 98 Happiness
I looked at the lobby entrance again for what seemed like the hundredth time. After my dad drove me to the airport I received a text from Klaus saying he's on his way and he has something for me.
“Hey miss, are you ok?” A woman sitting beside me asked as she adjusted her handbag.
“I’m fine ma.” I replied.
“Are you sure? You've been tapping your legs quite frantically for a while now.” she pointed out.
“I’m…I'm just a little nervous about flying.” I confessed.
“Oh, you don't need to be nervous, let me tell you a trick I use. Before take off just count to a 100. Your mind would be so focused on counting that you won't feel nervous anymore.”
“I’ll try it, thank you ma'am.” I smiled at her even though I didn't think it'll work. I sighted Klaus from the corner of my eyes as he made his way through the crowd at the lobby searching for me. I stood up and waved my hands frantically to get his attention.
“Over here!” Finally he looked over and maneuvered his way through the people at the lobby till he finally got to me. He was panting as if he ran all the way here.
“Klaus, what are you doing here? I need to go through security soon or I'll miss my flight.”
“I know. I wanted to give you something before you left.” He said
The huge screen suddenly showed ‘Flight AA1842 Gate B12 “Final call” ’
“Klaus, I have to go.” I said as I dragged my luggage to the x-ray screening system. Klaus helped me with the bigger bag. I went under the body scanner as Klaus was fumbling with a small pouch attached to his belt buckle.
“Tessa, I just wanted to give you this.” He said as he handed me the pouch. “And I want you to know that I'll always love you even if we're thousands of miles apart. You'll always be my lucky charm.” He said as he pulled me into his arms and hugged me he placed a kiss on my head before letting me go.
“Final call!!! Final call!!!”
"I love you too Klaus, I have to go byeeeeee. Call me after your flight, ok?” I yelled as I ran towards my gate.
Luckily I was just in time. The gates closed and after about 30 minutes we boarded the plane. I walked around looking for my seat.
“11a, 12a, 13a…” I said as I searched for seat 15a. I saw the lady that comforted me in the lobby. She was on seat 14c by the aisle. She waved at me and I smiled in return as I settled into my already found seat. I had a seat by the window. Again.
There was a blonde girl on the aisle seat. She had her headphones plugged in. I sat down on my seat but stood up almost immediately. I think I sat on something.
Oh, it's the pouch that Klaus gave me. Might as well see what's in it before take off. I picked it up and sat back down carefully unraveling the strings. To my surprise it was a stress ball, a white stress ball.
How thoughtful, but how did he know I've lost the previous one except he was the one who took it. Typical Klaus.
After settling into my dorm. Yep I have a dorm now since I am now an official student of MSA. I think I have a roommate but she isn't here yet. It's getting dark, almost 8. Klaus must still be on the plane. Well I may be hungry but I'm even more tired. I might as well sleep and sort things out tomorrow morning.
Woke up the next morning to someone knocking on the door. “Who is it? Give me a sec.” I stood up still rubbing my sleepy eyes as I went to open the door. I looked up from the orange luggage up to a pair of head phones I'm now familiar with. The blonde girl sat with me on the plane last night.
Apparently she's my new roommate. Funny how I keep meeting people I sit with on the plane. I wonder why she didn't just come to the dorm last night.
I let her in then locked the door. Her name was Aurelia and she majored in sculpting. She doesn't talk much but she's quite nice. Soon we both decided on which bed and closet to use. Since I came first naturally I also chose first. I picked the bed I slept in last night and started arranging my stuff into the closet. The room was fairly big for just two people. I head into the bathroom to freshen up.
Soon I was dressed and headed to the hall but not without grabbing breakfast first. We were briefed about the showcase and how we can showcase anything artistic and show why this school made the right choice by picking us. People were planning on sculpting, painting,drawing and the likes. I wanted to do a musical because why not.
On my way back to the dorm Klaus called and we both talked about our day and how we've settled in. Klaus was so excited to tell me about the places my dad took him and the pictures he's taking already. He said he couldn't wait to show me. I couldn't believe all the places they've been already. I mean if I were him I'd still be jetlagged. I'm so happy for him. He had to go, more scenes to be captured, he said.
I went to the group chat we decided to create so we can all still stay in touch. I wrote about my day and how my showcase is in two weeks. Maya and Ethan were also settled in while Charlotte hasn't replied yet.
I guess our lives were just beginning.
