Chapter 66 Confrontation
Luciano remained in his room still, awaiting news on Isabella, especially since nobody had told him she had left before his arrival.
He suddenly heard a knock on his door, expecting one of the men he had sent out to bring news.
Andreas walked in, slightly worried about The Don’s reaction to him keeping Isabella's disappearance from him.
“Any news?!”, Luciano directed towards whoever came in.
He hadn't seen that Andreas had entered his room as his green gems of eyes remained glued to his laptop, working to keep his mind occupied.
“None sir!”, Andreas answered as Luciano looked up to finally see who had entered his room.
“Did you know anything about Isabella's disappearance!?”, Luciano asked as he looked Andreas in the eye.
“I knew about it but we opted not to tell you as you were just recovering!”, Andreas explained.
“Very well!
I'm back now and I expect collaboration so we can find Isabella!”, Luciano said, relieving Andreas of his fear.
“I discreetly got some men earlier on to come with me as we searched Milan for Isabella!”, Andreas answered.
“And were you able to find her?!”, Luciano asked curiously.
“No Don, we weren't able to find her!”, Andreas answered.
“I already deployed men to go ahead and look for her. I think you weren't able to find her because you attempted to do so without my knowledge!”, Luciano stated blatantly.
“What if we don't?!”, Andreas asked, revealing his worries as he drove back to the mansion.
“We just have to! We simply just have to!”, Luciano replied.
“No! No that's not what I meant, I mean what if we can't find her anywhere in Milan?!”, Andreas asked.
“Then we search the whole of Italy till we find her! I guess you've forgotten I'm the Italian Mafia Don!”, Luciano said.
“What does it matter to you that we find her?!”, Andreas asked, giving Luciano something to think about.
“You forget her family owes me such a huge amount of money!”, Luciano replied as an excuse to try and cover up the reason behind his search for Isabella.
Andreas simply nodded as he saw there was more to the search than the money.
On a personal note, he knew Luciano was worth more than two hundred million Euros.
Andreas simply opted not to talk about it.
They suddenly heard a knock on Luciano's door again, this time, madam Paula coming in with a jug of apple juice and some glass cups.
It was her simple way of appeasing Luciano as she thought his anger was directed towards her.
Andreas followed after Madam Paula as the silence that ensued before she entered the room was rather stifling.
As much as he could read Luciano's expression, where he stood in the present moment was uncertain, thus, he decided to thread carefully, keeping his curious questions to himself.
He basically couldn't read him because Luciano had never been like that.
It took a while, but some men finally showed up to the mansion with news about Isabella, news that would annoy Luciano to the core.
By this time, Luciano was now seated in his private living room on the ground floor. He wasn't too comfortable with that many people in his private room.
He suddenly heard Madam Paula's voice as she had been the one to direct the men to the private living room.
“Where's she??”, Luciano asked, aware of their presence, but not raising his head.
“We're still looking sir!”, one of them spoke up amidst the chilling tone of the boss.
From what they knew, The Don was angry.
It took a moment to process the news they dispelled, however, his mind went to the first thought he had gotten as soon as he learned that Isabella had left the mansion.
“Did you see Andreas on your way here?!, Luciano asked, confusing the men who stood before him.
“Yes Don!”, one of them answered.
“Great! Call him on your way out! Keep searching the city.
Spread word about her, alongside her pictures. I want everyone working under me looking for her!”, Luciano said as the men acknowledged him, turning to leave soon after.
Andreas walked in precisely two minutes after the men walked out.
“Gather some men, we'll be going to see Morales very early tomorrow morning!”, Luciano ordered.
“But Don, you're still on bed rest!”, Andreas said.
However, he was replied with silence as Luciano had gone back to typing away on his laptop.
Andreas knew better than to press for an answer when Luciano got like that.
He simply left to do what The Don had ordered.
Does he seriously think she went back to her parents?!, Andreas thought as he quickly gathered the men.
Luciano had dwelled in the mansion before Isabella came along.
He never would have expected the Mansion to feel so empty following Isabella's disappearance.
He soon realized that he wasn't angry at Isabella, or her disappearance, or Mia or Madam Paula or his men failing to find her.
He was angry at himself as he wondered why he was so bothered by her disappearance.
“Mama!”, one of Isabella's sisters called out as she had seen the amount of cars that flooded their compound.
“What's that my dear?!”, Mrs Morales asked, still oblivious to the situation.
“Why are there so many cars in the compound?!”, her youngest daughter asked as she had gone through the back entrance to pick something for her mother.
“What do you mean there are cars in the compound?!”, Mrs Morales asked, wondering what was going on as they weren't expecting anyone.
She was simply preparing for dinner when her youngest entered with such an announcement.
She quickly rushed towards the window, wanting to confirm if her daughter was seeing things or there were truly cars in the compound.
Her eyes opened wide as she was suddenly reminded of the scene that had transpired months back.
“Mama!, is anything wrong?!”, the youngest asked again.
“No, nothing my dear! We just have guests…!”, Mrs Morales answered as fear gripped her.
