Chapter 65 Realization

Chapter 65 Realization
I spent about three nights away from the mansion and Isabella gathered the courage to leave, Luciano thought as Mia closed the door behind her.

“Madam Paula!
Madam Paula!
Madam Paula!”, Mia called, slightly raising her voice as she walked very briskly to the kitchen.

“What? What happened?!”, Madam Paula asked upon seeing Mia as she had been expecting a reply.

Gently dropping the used plates in the sink Mia turned towards Madam Paula.

“He suddenly asked me and I told him the truth!”, Mia said, making Madam Paula’s heart drop even further.

Of all things she knew that silent Luciano was even more dangerous than expressive Luciano.

He could literally do and undo, especially with the power he had.

“He told me to fetch you!”, Mia completed.

“Okay okay! Uhm…!”, Madam Paula drawled as she looked around.

“I'll go now! But I want you to call Andreas and tell him about the situation !”, Madam Paula said as she left the kitchen.

“But where's your phone?!”, Mia asked as she turned to see Madam Paula was no longer in the kitchen.

“Guess I'll find it myself then!”, Mia said to herself.

By the time Madam Paula got to Luciano's room, he was no longer on his dining table, but on his couch, typing away on his laptop.

“You called for me sir!”, Madam Paula said as she came to a halt a few steps away from Luciano.

“How long has she been gone?!”, Luciano asked, getting straight to the point.

“About one day now!”, Madam Paula answered.

“Why was I kept out of the loop!?”, Luciano asked, raising his head to make eye contact with Madam Paula.

“I just thought it would be better not to worry you with such a news sir, especially since you were recuperating!”, Madam Paula answered, wondering what Luciano’s next line of action would be.

Madam Paula's words gave Luciano something to think about, thus, he simply said, “very well then. You can leave now!”.

Learning of her absence brought about an empty feeling in his chest, one he didn't know would last for a very long time.

He had requested to be discharged earlier that morning as he wanted to come back to the mansion as soon as possible.

He just wasn't willing to admit the fact that he wanted to see Isabella.

He missed how she smelled and the various spontaneous reactions she made when he asked her to do something.

He missed the feel of her skin, a very intimate part he had been more inclined to a few nights before when he took her.

The anger started to form as he intended to shut down the whole city in order to find her.

Not being able to see her maddened him.

Madam Paula suddenly saw men entering the gates of the compound while some entered through the front door.

“What's going on?!”, Madam Paula asked Mia as she got back to the kitchen.

“I have no idea!”, Mia said as she passed Madam Paula her phone.

“I told him the truth as well!”, Madam Paula said as some of the men marched in and towards Luciano's room.

“Do you think they're setting out to find Isabella!”, Mia asked as more men entered the compound.

She didn't even know that Luciano had that amount of men at his command.

He was truly the Mafia Don, she thought as she looked around.

“It's possible. Have you called Andreas ?!”, Madam Paula asked.

“I already did ma'am! He's already on his way!”, Mia answered.

“Do you think we're in trouble!?!”, Madam Paula spontaneously asked as it didn't sit right with her to Lie to Luciano.

“I don't know ma'am! I really don't know!”, Mia replied.

The men had gotten orders to find Isabella as Luciano deduced she wouldn't have gone that far.

However, no one knew Isabella was far gone.

She had even left Milan and its environs as she headed to Umbria.

It had taken a while with how slow the van was from the motel, but they finally arrived at their destination.

Such a good place to start a new life, Isabella thought as she finally saw the mountains and the style of buildings there.

It had taken a whole lot of determination and actual effort to be free from the traumatic experiences that Luciano caused her, but she finally did.

She wondered how the people of the region would receive her as she thought to start a life there.

The van drove for a little while, Isabella not actually complaining as she got to see parts of Italy other than Tuscany and Luciano's mansion.

It was a whole experience on its own.

The van came to a halt as it entered a beautiful and spacious compound with lots of animals.

“Welcome to my house!”, the driver said as he helped Isabella out of the back of the van.

“Thank you!”, Isabella politely said as she hurled her bag as well.

He seemed nice, Isabella thought at the hospitality of the driver.

“Come on!”, The man said as he directed her to come towards the door.

An old lady stood there, a puppy in her hand with a big smile on her face.

“Bentornato a casa Alberto!”, The woman exclaimed as she took slow steps towards the driver whose name seemed to be Alberto.

“Nonna!”, the man said as he went forward to hug his grandmother.

They exchanged words, smiles on both their faces before the old woman turned to go back inside the house.

“What's going on?!”, Isabella asked.

“Nothing really! I don't think you'll be comfortable here! So I want to take you to a hotel you can stay at while you're here!”, Alberto replied.

Hearing the man speak alleviated Isabella's worries that she didn't know how best to say.

“Thank you!”, Isabella said as she approached where she formally sat, the engines of the van firing up.

As the last of the men exited Luciano's room, Luciano wondered where Isabella had suddenly gone.

Where would she go, Luciano wondered as he had no idea Isabella had made a proper plan.

“Shit!”, Luciano cursed as he got the bright idea of where Isabella would have gone just in case the men didn't find her in the city.
