Chapter 44 Worries
Luciano had watched her try to get the cups as he was walking towards the lake side.
The lady never seemed to amaze him!
‘Why would a grown ass lady stretch in such a funny manner to grab…!’, Luciano's line of thoughts was suddenly Interrupted seeing that she fell into the water.
Shaking his head at the mess she made with the splashes, Luciano wondered why she kept splashing the water.
Shaking his head, he looked towards his phone, quickly sending a message to Andreas who was already at the front of the lake house.
“Well come out!”, Luciano said to himself as he watched Isabella continue to make a mess of the water.
“Except!”, Luciano quickly raised his head, starting to entertain the thought of Isabella having no idea how to swim.
“Shit!”, he said as he ran towards the lake.
Breaking character, showing facial expressions and running to the pool, Luciano realized that Isabella was drowning.
By the time he jumped in, her struggle in the water had already started becoming weak.
“Help!”, Luciano heard her weak cry as her eyes were already red.
The sight tugged at his heart strings.
However, having no time to process all the things he’d felt, Luciano swam towards her.
“Has he started swimming already?!”, Andreas asked himself as he saw The Don in the lake.
Coming out through the back door which was slightly elevated from where the lake was, it was hard to miss Luciano swimming in the lake with the tattoos on his bare body.
However, Andreas was quite puzzled seeing another figure in a uniform.
‘A uniform!’, Andreas thought as he quickly connected the dots.
“Alex call an ambulance!”, Andreas screamed as he went inside the lake house.
Luciano quickly brought Isabella out of the pool.
Her usually warm body was gradually turning cold.
Looking around, Luciano wondered where everyone went. Thus, he decided to give Isabella the next best solution, Mouth to mouth resuscitation.
He brought her out of the lake, both their bodies dripping water.
Luciano was carrying her in a bridal style as he gently laid her down on the grass quite far from people.
Hesitating for a brief moment, Luciano wondered where the rest of his staff were.
“Andreas!”, Luciano called out as he started pressing Isabella's chest.
He brought one hand to her neck to feel her pulse, and one hand to her nostrils.
‘Isabella had stopped breathing!’, Luciano realized as the slight feeling of panic started spreading across his being.
“Andreas!”, He called out again as he settled to give Isabella the mouth to mouth resuscitation.
He quickly positioned her body, going down on her lips to blow air into her lungs.
“Andreas!”, Luciano called out one more time as his efforts were starting to seem futile.
He started to worry, one thing he hadn't done in a long while.
He couldn't even focus on how supple and soft her lips were because they were too cold for his liking.
“Shit!”, Luciano said as he kept going with the resuscitation.
Starting to lose hope, Luciano started hearing the siren of the ambulance.
It seemed like they were headed their way.
He kept on with the resuscitation, his eyes widening, when Isabella turned on her own to spill out the water that had gone to her lungs.
Quickly standing up to grab the towel from one of the sun chairs, Luciano lifted Isabella and covered her with the towel.
Clinging onto the only source of warmth, Isabella shivered as she felt dizzy.
She looked around, the sounds of the siren getting closer and closer.
Luciano lifted Isabella who was now conscious onto his arms, his bare chest surprisingly warm.
“Andreas!”, Isabella heard Luciano calling as he lifted her like she didn't weigh much.
“Boss!”, Andreas answered back as he saw the boss carrying Isabella.
“Where are they?!”, Luciano asked, referring to the siren he had heard beforehand.
“They're coming through the back sir!”, Andreas answered as he looked towards Isabella.
He was quite relieved that the situation wasn't fatal, seeing her looking dizzy and awake was better than no reaction in his case.
The ambulance parked, the first responders coming out of it as soon as they got close enough.
They quickly put Isabella on the emergency bed, checking her vitals.
Slowly but surely, Isabella responded very well to the check ups, finally putting Luciano’s mind to rest.
He had no prior knowledge that Isabella didn't know how to swim.
With her reaction and how pitiful she looked at the moment, Luciano instantly decided against the decision he had made to literally torment her.
He didn't feel like doing anything again.
Andreas had picked up on all the extreme reactions Isabella always had around The Don.
It was one of the things that triggered the thought of Isabella going through the most on her stay with Luciano.
She literally fainted from a gunshot days before and she was already drowning in a lake.
Having no idea that Luciano wasn't the cause of Isabella's drowning, Andreas simply kept quiet.
He was very well aware that nothing he would say or do would influence the decision Luciano already made.
Alex stood by Isabella as she was being checked on.
Luciano’s heart rate, which had slightly spiked, started calming down upon hearing Isabella's hoarse voice.
“Cancel the meeting!”, Luciano said as he faced Andreas.
“Yes Don!”, Andreas acknowledged as he started tapping away on his tablet.
~~
“Are you okay?!”, Alex asked as soon as the nurse gave Isabella the green flag to leave.
Helping her down from the bus, Isabella was rather stunned that Luciano had carried her again.
“Uhm sir! It's fine! I I can walk!”, Isabella said trying to refute.
Luciano didn't even bother giving her an answer as he carried her into the house through the back and towards her room.
“Get her a cup of water!”, Luciano said to Alex who was following behind them.
“Yes Don!”
Isabella was surprised to see that Luciano carried her like she was lightweight.
“Thank you sir!, I can walk from here!”, Isabella said as Luciano got to the front of her room.
Isabella wondered if she even said anything, or she was hallucinating as Luciano didn't even budge.
“Open the door!”, Luciano ordered as he got to the front of her room.
