Chapter 43 Shifting concerns II
‘What sort of cryptic message was that?!’, Isabella wondered as she looked at Alex who seemed very unfazed by what she had just said.
She didn't give her sentence much thought however as she had decided to trust in her family.
Isabella was very aware that any sort of rash decision she made would adversely affect her family.
EARLIER ON IN THE CAR
“... She only delivered machine guns, Don!”, Andreas answered Luciano as he had asked him a question.
“Grace just likes to test my patience, doesn't she?!”, Luciano said as he rested his head and closed his eyes.
“Get me a meeting with her brother! The older one!”, Luciano demanded.
“Yes Don!”, Andres answered.
“Any other thing I should know about?!”, Luciano asked as they had almost gotten to the lake house.
“Well…!”, Andreas started as he had no idea how to tell the boss.
“Well what Andre!”, Luciano urged.
“Well, Mr Morales paid another one million Euros earlier!”
Hearing this, Luciano's eyes shot open as he cocked his head to look at Andreas sitting beside him.
“Mr Morales did what?!”, Luciano asked in disbelief.
“He paid a million Euros!”, Andreas asked, Luciano quickly doing the math in his head.
The man had already paid one million, eight hundred thousand Euros.
The rate he went at only meant Mr Morales would pay back the entirety in no time.
He started to think of what would happen if Mr Morales succeeded in paying back the outstanding amount in full.
He started to feel conflicted as he didn't know exactly if he was ready to give up his source of amusement.
Thus, Luciano suddenly became angry, very unwilling to give in to said thoughts to know exactly what he felt.
“Very well then, let me know when he has paid half!”, Luciano said as Andreas acknowledged his order with a nod.
He only started to realize that the girl and her family made him speak and think more of things that don't concern his operation.
It was starting to become a headache.

As Alex and Isabella took the last few spoonfuls of their meals, Isabella remembered Luciano's last sentence before he went up the stairs.
“Uhmmm, by the way! The Don wants to go swimming tomorrow! What are the things I'm supposed to do!?”, Isabella asked.
“Oh, okay! Uhm, he likes to have the lake side with pillows and refreshments…!”, Alex started as Isabella nodded, processing the information.
“He also likes the umbrellas attached to the opened chairs. Thing is, he might have a few guests over, so you need to prepare refreshments for them as well!”, Alex said.
“How many are they likely to be?!”, Isabella asked as she took mental notes.
“Well, just prepare refreshments for at least five people!”, Alex said as Isabella widened her eyes.
“That's a lot of people!”, Isabella said.
“Well, it could be! You have to make a variety though, these people are rich and love to order people around!”, Alex said.
‘Yeah, Like the Don himself!’, Isabella thought to herself as she heard of the type of guests Luciano might receive .
“So, I have to wake up really early to get all this done!!”, Isabella said.
“Oh, no, you won't be doing everything. I'll try my best to help out! Except, I can't cook!”, Alex said.
“Well, that's fine! I'll do all the cooking then!”, Isabella said.
“It's a deal then!”, Alex shrieked as she brought out her hand for a handshake.
“Alright partner!”, Alex shrieked again as Isabella grabbed her hand and returned the gesture.
“Towels though, where are they?!”, Isabella asked ,having no clue where she had seen them.
“Ohh, I'll show you where all the things you need are located later. For now, let's go by the lake!”, Alex said as she stood up.
“But aren't we supposed to be prepping instead of relaxing?!”, Isabella asked. She wasn't intent on getting into trouble.
“Ohh, we aren't going to relax! I'm just going to show you the view and show you where everything will go!”, Alex said, giving Isabella a charming smile.
“Okay then!”, Isabella agreed as she got out of her seat.
\~~~
Isabella had woken up quite early the next morning, taking her bath and heading to the kitchen.
She didn't want to mess anything up, and she didn't want to give Luciano anything to talk about.
Thus, following the brief explanation Alex had given to her, She was able to get the materials she'll need.
Isabella placed them in the kitchen, a very intentional move, so as not to forget anything essential.
Isabella thought of the slightly chubby woman with short hair who had been so welcoming.
She started to feel comfortable with her the more they spent time together.
Going around the kitchen, preparing several snacks, Isabella noticed how bright the day had become.
With no way to tell the time, Isabella wondered if she should have started setting up the lake side, especially considering the fact that Alex hadn't woken up yet.
She really didn't want to give The Don anything to complain about, thus, she decided to just go ahead and set the essentials.
She approached the lake side, cleaning the sun chairs and stools with the rag she had brought from the kitchen.
She wasted no time in setting it up, along with the umbrellas attached to it.
Isabella wondered what it would feel like to live such a life.
Shaking her head to dispel the thoughts, Isabella went back to the kitchen to bring the glass cups.
Passing by one chair especially close to the lake, Isabella almost tripped as she quickly balanced herself.
However, much couldn't be said for some of the glass cups.
Two had fallen into the lake, and Isabella was really thankful that none had broken.
She didn't know what she would say to justify that mistake.
Dropping the glass cups on one of the stools in between the sun chairs, Isabella approached the lake.
She stretched her hand and caught the first one, but the second one was a bit further.
Going into the water a little bit to pick the cup from the water, Isabella didn't expect she would slip and enter the lake.
“Ahh!”, Isabella screamed at the top of her lungs, splashing the water as it entered her lungs.
Isabella was drowning and she couldn't swim!!!!!!
