Chapter 24 Let me handle this
Ravyen's POV
I would just let go of my bait, I always had my way, fortunately, he was holding on to the tie. If I let go, he falls.
He cuddled himself, swinging to and fro and crying that I should take him up.
Arianna breath hard on sighting him as she slaps my back, certainly for frightening her. I gave her a sided smile, and she waved her head, while twirling a finger close to her head. She was indicating I was crazy, holding a man with a tie.
"Please, I don't want to die!" He screamed and I pulled with you with every strength in. He sure consumes a lot of weight. He was weeping like a child and I tried not to mock him. When he had gain consciousness of his environment, he faced us.
"Okay! Okay!" He mumbled with probing eyes at us.
"What do you want to know?" He interrogated.
"We will do the questioning!" Arianna yelled with her hand banging the table.
"I am sorry!" He apologized with his hands surrendering in the air.
It was so hard to believe that an innocent looking man such as himself, who is afraid of death could do such a thing?
"This woman, you know her don't you?" Arianna showed him her mother's picture.
"Well?" He nodded in affirmation as it was easier for him to reply that way.
"You two had a disagreement didn't you?" I chipped in.
He suddenly seemed surprised that I know, or perhaps guessed. He observed my eyes for a while, trying to pickup traits of a shaky gaze.
It was easier to identify a liar that way.
"Are you guys really cops?" The confused and scared man questions.
"We do the questioning!" Arianna reminded him.
Besides, he hadn't reply the earlier question.
"Let me handle this" I said to her.
I know she wanted to help, but she is only making us look like kidnappers instead of the cops she claimed we are.
"What was you two argument based on?" I continued with my interrogation.
"It wasn't serious at all" he stuttered.
That did give me an impression that he was lying. His expression, his trembling hands, and unstable gaze. It was difficult not to figure out.
Maybe I wasn't asking the right question all along, time to be a real cop.
"How do you to know each other?" I struck the question.
"Arianna owns a share in the company" he admitted.
"So, what were your disagreements on?" I pressed on with another question.
"She... I..." He rolled his eyes looking at lies to tell probably.
"You killed her!" Arianna accused, flaring up.
Just when I thought I was handling the matter peacefully.
"What! I would never do such a thing" he denied.
Arianna pulled him by his tie and began choking his neck.
"Tell me who killed her or I will end your own life!" She yelled with sincerity in her eyes.
I was dumbfounded at how she handled the situation. She looked like a furious goddess, ready to consume anything with her rage. It made me have the feeling; there was something about her I don't know.
I saw rage in her eyes. It was the pain of losing a loved one. Maybe I was earlier about her she actually loved her mom.
"George! He is a drug dealer. He was also against her not selling her shares" the CEO spat the words out of his mouth.
I guess the thought of death forced the truth out of his mouth.
This actually proved that their arguments was centered on buying Arianna's shares.
"So who wanted her share?" I was desperate to know, narrowing my gaze at him.
"Ask George, he knows" he replied almost immediately.
Arianna let go of his neck and walk away from the room.
"Where can we find this George?" I asked the last question.
He gave me an address and I left him with the threat that he was being watched, and if he dare speak of our conversations, he would be shot instantly.
Arianna was waiting for me behind the door, she looked bereft and from the looks of it, she had shared tears.
"We will make whoever did this pay" I encouraged her with the words, not really sure if it was actually what she needed to hear.
"I wanted to hug her and perhaps tell her everything would be fine. Her swollen eyes really hurt me.
"Let's go get that son of a bitch!" She proposed to me.
Honestly! I was glad to hear that.
I flung my hand to her waist and walked with her towards the exit.
We arrived at the location the CEO gave us for George's.
He did find a great spot as a hide out for his house was completely hidden from the public view.
His house wasn't guarded at all, unlike we expected. Even so, we were cautious with our steps and monitored the area strictly.
If he did have something to do with the murder, he would be prepared for our coming.
It was Arianna's idea to use the main door. She believes he would not expect such a visit as an attack.
I pressed the doorbell and it rings loudly.
We stood in wait for reply and repeatedly glimpse at one another.
They was no reply forthcoming, and we were beginning to pick a sting of something fishy.
I looked at Arianna once more, and it was as though she read my expression at the moment. She nodded forward to affirm that I carried on with my decision.
I turned the doorknob to try and open the door.
It was shocking how the door was left unbolted.
Could it have been a trap to get us in.
I left the door widely open and asked Arianna to move away from it.
Perhaps I was expecting a gunshot or a sudden attack.
She barged through the door and entered into the house while I followed suit.
George's house was large and well furnished. It was enormous for a single man like him.
"Rav!" Arianna called.
I found her just before the stairs that led to a hallway.
A man was laying dead on the floor. If I was correct, that should be the George the CEO spoke about.
His blood drew from his mouth to the floor.
I turned him over to examine his body as he laid on his chest.
I could sight a spot, where a bullet penetration him. He was definitely shot by three bullets.
Arianna suddenly buried her face on my chest, she could not stand the sight of the bloody murder.
"Who must have done that to him" she questioned while her face still looked away.
"Whosoever has done this, knew we were coming" I replied.
"Arianna, I need you to be strong please. Let's get to the bottom of this" I beckoned while holding her by the shoulders.
She stepped away from me and didn't take a second look at the body.
I tried locating his phone to get a clue from his last conversation perhaps. Cops always did this.
He had no phone on him, his murderer had done an expert job getting rid of every clue.
Damn! I yelled as I recalled the last words I said.
"Whosoever murdered him must have known we were coming.
The only one that knows we were coming was the CEO we interrogated earlier.
"What is wrong?" Arianna questioned, anxious about what was bothering me.
