Chapter 30
Owen had always fallen asleep to Charlotte’s bedtime stories.
But ever since Charlotte left home, no one had told him bedtime stories anymore.
Whenever he made a fuss, Lisa would immediately go and find Alexander.
Fortunately, Sabrina had moved in.
He felt like he had found a savior and immediately told her about this.
And Sabrina truly did not let him down. She agreed right away that she would tell him his favorite bedtime stories every night from now on.
So that evening, Owen happily listened to stories again after such a long time.
However, Sabrina told several stories in a row, all of which Charlotte had told before, and he didn't want to hear them at all.
But he didn't notice that after being interrupted several times, Sabrina's usually doting and gentle face was showing a hint of impatience.
She had once assumed that getting along with children was as easy as offering kind words, handing out treats, and relying on a few small tricks.
She had never expected that she would have to tell bedtime stories. And they had to be stories he had never heard before.
Different ones every day, for over four years... Where on earth did Charlotte find all those stories?
Sabrina was secretly gritting her teeth, but outwardly she had to remain completely calm. "Owen, how about we skip tonight, and I'll find a good story to tell you tomorrow, okay?"
When Owen heard this, he immediately became upset."No! I want to hear one, I want to hear one!"
Watching Owen kick and fuss, Sabrina suddenly felt an urge... to slap him across the face just to make him shut up.
But no, she couldn't.
She still needed him to win Alexander's heart.
Luckily, just as she was about to lose her patience, Alexander came home.
Sure enough, when he saw Owen making a fuss with Sabrina, who was still recovering, he became angry on the spot. He not only scolded Owen harshly but also made him promise right then and there that he would never ask Sabrina to tell bedtime stories again.
Watching Owen appear so wronged yet remain silent, Sabrina felt a surge of quiet satisfaction.
However, to comfort Owen, she still put on a concerned look and spoke up for him.
And Alexander, for her sake, let Owen off the hook for now.
As Sabrina left the room, seeing Owen's grateful look directed at her, she couldn't help but curse silently. Idiot.
Once she married Alexander and gave birth to Alexander's child, this idiot Owen would no longer need to exist.
Soon, Sabrina returned to her room in the Forbes Family - the master bedroom that had originally belonged to Charlotte.
To help Sabrina recover better, Alexander had actually given her the master bedroom with the best view.
In Alexander's mind, although Charlotte didn't push Sabrina into the water, the whole thing still happened because of her, so temporarily giving up the master bedroom was compensation for Sabrina.
At this moment, Sabrina had finished washing up and was comfortably half-lying down, contentedly looking around the room.
Suddenly, her gaze froze, then she stood up and walked straight to the closet.
Didn't they say Charlotte had left home?
Well, she wanted to see just how determined Charlotte really was.
Opening the closet, Sabrina found that indeed, none of Charlotte's belongings were inside not even a small scarf was left behind.
Oh, right, last time at the Forbes Family's old house, she had mentioned wanting Alexander to sign some divorce agreement?
So where exactly did she put that divorce agreement?
She had to find it, then figure out a way to get Alexander to sign it!
With this thought, Sabrina immediately started searching everywhere, cabinets, drawers, even the vanity table, but still came up empty-handed.
Sabrina slowly straightened up, a cold gleam flashing in her eyes.
Getting more and more angry, she swept her hand across .
Several papers fell out from somewhere and were scattered on the floor.
"Is this the divorce agreement?"
She had thought it was the divorce agreement Charlotte left behind, but after picking them up, Sabrina discovered they were actually several hand-drawn jewelry design sketches.
As a professional designer, she could tell at a glance that these works were extremely valuable, and couldn't help but feel increasingly covetous.
Could these be design sketches that Lynn had left behind But judging from the styles in the drawings, they clearly hadn't been released to the market yet.
Plus, these papers looked very new, not as if it had been stored for several years.
Could these design sketches have been drawn by Charlotte?
Impossible!
When Lynn died, Charlotte had only been a teenager, and later she was taken back by the Talbot Family. She had never heard of her doing jewelry design.
Perhaps she had seen design manuscripts Lynn had left behind before and then copied them?
That must be it.
After figuring out the origin of the design sketches, Sabrina's hand clutching the papers still couldn't bear to let go.
She had to admit, Lynn's designs were truly exceptional.
Even works from several years ago, if entered in a design competition now, wouldn't be outdated at all, and would actually be quite eye-catching.
Even she, who prided herself on being a top student, who had graduated from an international design school, had to admit defeat.
If she took them to enter a competition...
Sabrina's grip on the papers grew tighter and tighter, and in the end, she did not let go.
Two days later, Landon helped Philip complete the enrollment procedures at River City's most high-end private international kindergarten, making Charlotte's life much easier.
Except for breakfast and dinner, picking up and dropping off Philip at school on time, and occasionally taking him to the center, she could control the rest of her time freely, so she suddenly had plenty of time.
The matter of re-establishing her studio was still being handled by her senior, so she thought that while she had free time now, she should draw as many works as possible, and also polish and revise some of the sketches she'd drawn before. That way, when things got busy later, she wouldn't be too overwhelmed.
After making up her mind, Charlotte immediately took action.
However, she soon discovered that several design sketches she had secretly drawn at the Forbes family home were missing.
Could she have left them behind when packing her things?
She didn't want to go back to the Forbes Family, but those design sketches were her hard work - she absolutely couldn't let them go to waste, and definitely couldn't let Alexander benefit from them.
So after changing her clothes, she went straight downstairs and headed directly to the Forbes Family.
At this time, Alexander was not home, so she could quietly retrieve her design sketches and leave.
She also needed to ask Lisa whether Alexander had signed that divorce agreement or not.
Soon, she arrived back at the Forbes Family.
Seeing her return, Lisa was both surprised and delighted. "Mrs. Forbes, you're finally back?"
Charlotte nodded "Yes, I just came back to get something and then I'll leave."
With that, Charlotte went straight up the stairs without looking back, quickly disappearing from Lisa's sight.
Oh no, Lisa hadn't had time to tell her that Sabrina had moved in and was living in the master bedroom.
