Alexander was completely unprepared and got stomped on hard by Charlotte!
The pain made him instinctively let go.
Charlotte broke free and quickly backed away several steps, putting enough distance between herself and Alexander.
At that moment, Jenna, who had been watching from nearby, rushed over: "Charlotte, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Charlotte shook her head, looking at Alexander with satisfaction. "He's hurting way more than me."
Charlotte's cold laugh snapped Alexander back to reality.

He stared at Charlotte: "Charlotte, I'm asking you one last time. Do you really want a divorce?"

But Charlotte glanced at the time, looking anxious: "We can still make it if we go now! Did you bring your documents?"
Alexander looked at her expressionlessly: "In an hour and a half, meet me at the courthouse entrance."

As if not expecting Alexander to leave so suddenly, Charlotte thought for a moment, then shouted at his back just to be sure: "Remember! In an hour and a half, be there or be square!"

Charlotte raised an eyebrow: "To buy gold, of course."
Jenna stopped in her tracks: "You're not still planning to use that marriage certificate, are you?"
Charlotte pulled out the marriage certificate and waved it in front of her: "Of course! It'll be worthless in an hour, might as well use it while I can!"
The admiration in Jenna's eyes was practically overflowing. When could she borrow Charlotte's clever brain for a while?
Meanwhile, at the River City courthouse, someone had been waiting for nearly ten hours.
Landon leaned against his car door, took a deep drag on his cigarette, then threw the butt on the ground and crushed it hard.

Could he have gotten the date wrong?
