THE END OF A CONTRACT MARRIAGE.
"ALEXANDER’s POV".
The room was filled with a dense and uncomfortable silence. The air was heavy with anticipation and fear. Ben and Tammy’s eyes were one me, as they both waited for me to take a decision.
I stood rooted my spot, my eyes fixed on the papers in my hands. As I read every word, it seems like it was mocking my helplessness.
“I can not do this. I can not betray Leila, she is my wife!” I said, my voice calm and steady.
Tammy and Ben looked at each other, whilst my words hung in the air.
Ben stepped forward, his eyes narrowed and a smug grin on his face.
“I will pretend that I did not hear what you said, the first time. Perhaps you have something to think about. The fate of your precious little wife is in your hands, and will be determined by your next words. So chose your words carefully.” Ben threatened.
I felt my chest tighten, and my throat run dry. I thought of Leila, and what might happen to her if I refuse to sign the divorce.
But what choice did I have? If I refuse to sign this paper, Leila will be killed and if I do, she will be taken away from me.
“Common Alexander baby,” Tammy’s voice cut through the silence. “We have a vacation to attend, you can not waste time. Hurry make your decision.”
But I made no move, I looked over to Leila and her face was down, suddenly a thought flashed through my mind. This might be the perfect opportunity to distance myself from Leila, and give her time to get over her feelings for me.
A deep and deafening silence settled over the room, and Ben’s eyes were fixed on me.
Taking a deep breath, I picked up a pen and began to sign.
Each letter was akin to a thousand swords, stabbing my heart. I could hear Leila’s cries , but I knew this would be best for the both of us.
When I finished signing, I handed the papers back to Ben.
Ben took the papers, with a victorious smirk on his face. “Good choice Alexander. I must say, you must really care for her to do this. Imagine the risk you just took.” He said, a cruel look in his eyes.
“Well, Well, Well. I can see that you finally made the right decision baby.” Tammy said and stepped forward. “ She was never the perfect match for your anyways. She is a weak and pathetic B A S T A R D and you must be so ashamed to call her your wife. I am glad you finally came to your senses and got rid of her.”
My jaw clenched and my fingers curled up into fist at my sides. But I knew that any action or step I take could mean the end of Leila’s life. I took a deep breath and forced myself to remain calm.
“Stop spewing rubbish and let go of her! Set her free!” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Tammy’s face curled into a satisfied sneer. “Do not worry about her, we will release her and that too unharmed.”
She stepped closer, and kept a hand on my shoulder. Her face was extremely close to mine.
“You know, I never got to know why you married her.” Tammy taunted. “She is a rich brat who was spiked rotten by her parents. She does not desire you, she is a pathetic excuse for a woman. And now, I am glad you have chosen to get rid of her.”
With that, Tammy pressed her lips on mine, I was disgusted by I knew I had to play alone. Holding the back of her head, I brought her closer to me, and after a few minutes I broke the kiss.
“How dare you! How dare you!” Leila screamed, her voice raw with emotion as tears ran down her cheeks.
I felt sad seeing her cry, my anger boiled inside me. But I knew I could not let it show, I had to convince them I was over Leila.
Tammy looked up at me, her face flushed from the kiss. “Do you remember the day we met?” She asked, her words coming out slurry. “Do you remember how I felt when I looked into your eyes, how I pulled you closer as we both explored each other bodies. Each thrust, was filled with love and each moan was filled passion.”
I felt my skin crawl and my blood boil. I hated that day and wished that it never exist. If I could go back in time, I would never look at her.?
I have her a stiff smile and shoved her hand aside.
“I know it will take some time to develop feelings for me again. I understand. And this time, I will not let you slip thriving My fingers. I will make sure I keep you by my side. For me to love, during the day and at night.” Tammy continued.
My eyes flashed with barely contained rage, and my lips set in a thin line. “You will have to work hard to get my love back Tammy. And until you do, stay away from me.”
Tammy’s face twisted into a frown, “stay away from you? But if I stay away from you, how will I make you happy?” She asked, her voice turning conspiratorial. “I need to take care of your member every night, I need to have your seeds in me every night. So that I can give you an heir.”
I felt disgusted by her shameless words, but I kept my silence.
“Control yourself Tammy, you can have him all go yourself.” Ben said, finally speaking up.
Just then a loud thud was heard and I shifted my gaze to where the sound came from.
My eyes widened in shock.
“No Leila, put that gun away.” I said, as Leila pointed a gun to my head.
“One more thing...” Leila said, looking into my eyes.
