Chapter 57:

Chapter 57:
Ezmeralda POV:

We remained calm and smiled as we passed by people. So far I haven’t seen anyone without white in their hair. When we came around the corner Ash and the rest of them were waiting on us.

“There you guys are.” Ash smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes.

“We were just coming back, let’s go inside.” I replied.

“Uncle Ash! Ezie is practicing her shield with me. Isn’t that cool?!” Jordan laughed.

“That is way cool buddy. Are you hungry?” Ash asked.

“Starving! Can we go eat?” Jordan questioned.

“Absolutely. Come, I’ll take you to get some food but I have a question for you.” My mother said as she knelt down to be eye level with him.

“You know I’m a vampire now right? But I still have my witch abilities and like Ezie, I could use some practice with my new shield.” My mother added.

“So I can help you too? Is it green like Ezies?” Jordan fired off questions making us all laugh.

“I would really love it if you could help me but it’s not like hers. Mine is now more of a teal color. Would you like to see?” My mom asked. Jordan could hardly hold his excitement and as she looked at me I pulled my shield out and watched as my mother extended hers. It was absolutely beautiful.

“It tickles.” Jordan giggled.

“Talon, why don’t you, Malachi and Rowena go with mom and Jordan?” I said looking at him. Talon was always the more serious one, but when there was a direct threat to any of us the serious side became more protective and fierce.

“What is going on ?” Adira asked.

“Not here. Too many ears.” I whispered.

“Let’s go to a room really quick. Whose is the closest?” Mariah asked.

“Mine is.” Blake replied. I looked to see he had Bobbies hand in his and I smiled. Quickly we made our way to Blakes room which was huge. It was like a little apartment of sorts.

“Delilah warned me that some of the white witches aren’t good and they are here. The other horses have become uneasy.” I rushed out.

“How are they here? The grounds are protected.” Mariah questioned,

“Because they have a soul, Delilah said to look at their hair. If they have white in it that means they are pure. They’ve stayed true to who they are. If they don’t then they are not pure and could possibly be helping Victor.” I replied.

“Okay so right now they are just spies?” Bobbie asked.

“I think so, I don’t know honestly.” I shrugged.

“We just can’t catch a break.” Adira huffed, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“We need to find them and discreetly get them out.” Michael said.

“Yes, we will go on with the dinner but watch them all. They might even sit together.” Blake added.

“I agree. We don’t need to raise any alarms right now with everyone here. We act normal, make ourselves very well known and seen. Jordan will remain in either mine or my mothers shield. We can enhance it to where only certain people can touch him but realistically he is to be kept at the table with us.” I spoke.

It made the most sense to let him be seen as well but keep him away. Our people who are loyal to us will understand.

“Yes, and I’ve opened the link to Natalie and Will and she is already talking to the faithful. They will help as well.” Ash replied. I relaxed a bit more. Maybe this night won’t turn into a disaster after all.

“Let’s get out there then. I am hungry.” Bobbie shrugged and I laughed.

“Let’s get you some food then, I don’t think any of us want to see you turn hangry.” I replied. When we walked out of the room everyone was starting to fill in and as I looked around the ballroom I was absolutely amazed. It was much like the rest of the palace but it was incredibly spacious.

We walked to the stage where a large table was. My mother and Talon were on each side of Jordan who was eating like he hasn’t eaten in days.

“Everything well?” My mother asked.

“Yes, keep it up, if you need to do anything let me know so I can do mine.” I whispered.

“It’ll stay until I call it back to me.” My mother smiled.

“What do you mean?” I questioned. I was a little confused by her statement.

“A new trick I can do, it can leave me if I send it to someone and I can call it back to me when I need it.” My mother replied.

“That is incredible! I would love to see that in action.” Ash beamed. We all turned to see that everyone was now in their seats and I knew it was time to say something. I was still nervous speaking in front of larger crowds like this.

“Thank you all for joining us, the servers will come around soon with your food. Please enjoy.” Ash announced. While he talked my eyes started scanning everyone.

“To the left.” Caspians voice came through my head. I trailed my eyes to the left and noticed a woman sitting and staring at us. She had no white in her hair.

“How did you spot her so quickly?” I asked Caspian.

“I can feel her staring.” Caspian replied and I nodded. So now I know where one is. I patted Ashs arm and made my way off the stage to start at the table closest to me. I didn’t want to walk straight up to her and make her panic. As I thanked them and made small talk I finally made my way to her table. She didn’t seem like she had bad in her but still.
