Chapter 56:

Chapter 56:
Ezmeralda POV:
“Of course. I would actually really like that.” I replied. As we walked out I could hear the giggles and I smiled. Natalie was going to get so much love and she deserved it.

“So where is everyone going to sit? I know the white witches will stay here at the palace.” Adira said as we go out into the hallway.

“Yes, they will stay here, we have plenty of room. As far as dinner I have people setting up tables in the ballroom.” Michael replied.

“There is a ball room here?” I questioned.

“Yes, come, we will show you.” Ash smiled as he held his hand out to me.

“Ezie!” Jordan shrieked and I stopped. When he stopped in front of me he looked around before he motioned for me to lean down.

“Delilah is a horse again and she wants to talk to you.” He half whispered half yelled.

“Okay, want to go see her with me?” I asked.

“Yes! Let’s go!” Jordan beamed. He grabbed my hand and started to pull me forward.

“We will catch up!” I yelled over my shoulder.

“He loves you a lot.” Ashs voice boomed through my head and I turned to wink at him. He had the biggest smile on his face.

“Where are the two of you running off to?” My mother asked.

“To see Delilah, want to join us?” I asked. Truth be told I missed her. It just wasn’t the same around the lands without her. She hooked her arm through mine and with Talon following we walked outside. I was still just so surprised to see everyone here. All I could see was smiles and hear laughter.

“How are you adjusting mom?” I asked.

“Fairly well. It’s a lot to take in but maybe in a day or two I think I’ll be okay.” She replied.

“I miss you, these days need to hurry up so you can come home.” I muttered.

“I missed you too. We should plan a lunch for me you and Mariah. I spoke to your sister on the way over here.” My mother said.

“How is she?” I asked.

“Stressed like the rest of us and she is making sure all the pack grounds near her are protected.” My mother said. I nodded my head. This was not the way that I wanted to be introducing everyone but I just didn’t want to take the risk. If they will take humans and control the rogues, goddess only knows what they would do if they actually got an entire pack and the alpha that comes with it.

“That is good. I’m going to call them all in a few days before the ceremony. Maybe a week before so I can really catch them all up on what has been going on.” I said.

“Why don’t you fill us in on what is going on.” Talon remarked.

“In short terms.. Mariah has a new gift, her eyes bleed when she does it though. Victor is trying to take us all out to get to Jordan.” I replied. I didn’t want to speak too high and risk Jordan hearing what I was saying.

“What is her new gift?” My mother pressed.

“She is able to see through Victors eyes in real time. It happened late last night for the first time and she is able to tell us what she sees.” I replied.

“That will truly come in handy.” Talon whispered. I agreed but I still felt bad. I didn’t like that her eyes bled the way that they did.

“Delilah?” Jordan called out and I could hear her make noise.

“Oh, I can also talk to Delilah now and she can turn into a giant wolf.” I added just as we got in front of her stall.

“My queen. The horses are uneasy.” Delilah said.

“Why? What has happened?” I asked.

“There is a change, a lot of people are here.” Delilah replied.

“Please calm them, the people that have showed up are the white witches. They are good.” I said.

“Not all of them are good.” Delilah recanted. I tilted my head to the side.

“What are you talking about?” I pressed. I felt the hairs on the back on my neck stand up.

“The grounds are protected, if they were bad they couldn’t be here.” I added.

“Who is bad? What is she saying?” Talon quizzed. He was now on guard.

“They can if they don’t have black souls. They can retain the white magic but still work for them.” Delilah spoke.

“How do we tell? What do I need to do?” I asked.

“Look for the ones with no white in their hair. The white in their hair shows they are pure of soul.” Delilah replied. Well shit.. This was not what I was expecting at all.

“We need to go back to the palace. Now.” I said.

“Please reassure the others, I will handle this.” I added.

“He is to stay in the middle of us, I will place my shield around him.” I whispered. My mom and Talon nodded, knowing I didn’t want to say anything in front of him.

“Ezmeralda, what’s wrong?” Ash questioned.

“We have a problem”. Me, my mom and Talon are escorting Jordan back inside. He will be placed in my shield.” I replied. Keeping my demeanor calm so I wouldn’t alert anyone.

“Jordan? Would you mind if I practiced with my shield? I need to learn how to change the size of it and you would be perfect.” I asked looking down at him.

“Yes! It won’t hurt will it?” He asked.

“Not at all. You won’t even see it unless you look really close. I’ve been practicing with that too.” I winked. I swear his innocence was captivating. I placed him in the middle of us and stepped back and closed my eyes. I felt my shield extend out and I heard him giggle when it passed through him.

“Stay in there okay? It won’t work if you don’t” I smiled.

“Yes ma’am! I’ll stay in the middle.” Jordan replied. I nodded my head and stood in front of him and started walking back towards the palace.
