Chapter 25 Chapter 25

Chapter 25 Chapter 25

“Ma’am are you okay?” The receptionist girl asked Penny. She took a deep breath in and exhaled repeatedly.

“It seems we won't be finding a place to sleep tonight. I forgot my car in my chauffeur's bag, including my phone and ATM, which was inside,” she almost sobbed, saying that and I could see the receptionist kind of show empathy to her.

Goddess please forgive us.

Then Penny turned to Face. Her acting looks so real and even a lame man can see that what is happening right now is not a joke.

“You should have reminded me then all this wouldn't have happened,” Penny said to me and I almost cowered in fear.

If Penny had a child, I know she would treat them with kindness.

“I am sorry my lady,” I said and continued pleading to her to have mercy on me.

“Young lady, can you do us a favour instead, the chauffeur will be back in three hours. Let us stay in the room and we won't need anything. Not even a cup of water.” Penny said in a clearer tone.

“No.” The receptionist girl said and it felt as if water got sucked out of my throat. Is this how I am going to meet my death? I should have accepted the money Vincent offered.

“We will definitely treat you well," the receptionist girl said and I raised my brows in surprise.

“Don't do that. I hate feeling indebted to someone. Just give us the key alone once the chauffeur returns, I will clear the room bills, then we can order anything.” Penny said and I can't help but watch her with admiration. Penny would be a good mother to her children if she had any.

“Alright, ma’am. This is the key,” the girl said and Penny took the key from her.

The joy that my heart feels has no bounds.

“I will not forget this kindness,” Penny told the lady and left while I followed closely behind her.

We climbed the stairs, unlocked the door and got in. Penny and I jumped when we finally got inside, our hands collided creating a slap sound.

Then, we stopped looking at each other. “Princess, I am sorry for…”

“Oh, please, Penny,” I said, cutting her off because I already knew what she was going to apologise for.

“I am so glad I have you. You did well.” I told her instead and hugged her.

“Thank you Princess Sabrina,” Penny said and looked around the room.

It's actually good with a restroom on the right-hand side of the room. The place is neat enough for me to rest my head on and have a good sleep.

“Are you going to shower first?” Penny asked me and I shook my head.

“You should do that, I need to look around to see if we are not being followed,” I told Penny and she nodded.

“Thank you Princess.”

Penny went inside the restroom and I jumped on the bed. Now we need to look for a way to leave the Pack without letting anyone discover my identity. I know this might be hard but I can do it.

I placed the bag beside the bed and switched on my phone. I typed something inside and closed it again. I don't even have friends I can stay with because they all hate me and covet what I have instead.

Closing my eyes, I lay flat on the bed but my thoughts drifted back to what Penny told me. She let me know how Vincent felt about me but I had already ruined the chance of being with me.

He is not the only one who ruined everything, I also did. I doubt his father would even forgive me for ruining all his research. I thought he deserved it but who knew there was actually something more.

“It's fine, Sabrina.. just rest for now,” I said to myself and I heard a knock at the door. At first, I was actually afraid to act deaf but the knock persisted, leaving me with no choice but to stand up. My heart raced wildly with each step I took forward.

“Who is there?” I asked but there was no reply. I looked through the hole like a camera in the door and saw who the person was. It's one of the hotel staff.

I unlocked the door and she came in with a tray of food and drink. “I didn't order food.”

“It's in the hotel.” the staff said and placed the food on the fancy table in front of the couch.

“What?” I asked in shock. Why would the hotel give us free food? Or is it because of the receptionist earlier?

They are only making me feel even more guilty for what I did.

“We usually give the first face in the hotel special treatment. We are aware of the fact that this is actually your first time here,” the staff said and I nodded.

“Oh.” I thought and smiled

“Thank you for the food,” I said with a deep bow.

“And if you need anything more, don't hesitate to let us know” the staff said and went out.

Penny came out of the restroom just in time with a towel wrapped around her body. She gawked when she saw the tray of food.

“What is this Princess?” Penny asked, her eyes widened and her mouth slightly parted.

“I was told it is from the hotel. Luck is on our side today.” I said, finding it hard to believe that the same world that shunned me is now treating me well.

“Wow. Princess, this is indeed luck. The people of Crescent Claw Pack are good.” Penny said and I told her to come and join me.

“Use the spoon Penny. Let's eat.” I told her and she listened. She picked up the spoon and waited for me to start before digging in.

The food is even up to my taste and this made it off.

“
