Chapter 39
Lila looked at him sincerely. "I'm telling the truth. I wouldn't dare complain to Grandma about you, and I don't plan to either. After all, we're the ones who have to live here together long-term. If I ran to Grandma every time something happened, wouldn't that be really annoying?"
Alexander snorted coldly and took another step forward.
Lila instinctively stepped back.
Alexander kept advancing, closing in on her step by step.
Lila was already backed up against the kitchen glass door, but Alexander still showed no sign of stopping. She instinctively raised her hand to block him.
But unexpectedly, her palm landed right on Alexander's chest.
She touched his pecs!
Even through his clothes, she could still feel the firm, hard texture.
Lila panicked and quickly pulled her hand back.
Alexander glanced at the spot she had touched, his eyes darkening.
His gaze shifted to her face as he leaned closer, his handsome face getting bigger and bigger in front of her.
Lila held her breath.
In this situation, she should probably be thinking about how she was going to die, but instead she pressed her lips together, because she couldn't help feeling that Alexander's posture looked like he might kiss her at any moment.
Finally, he stopped about three centimeters from her nose.
Their breaths mingled, the air heating up.
Despite her nervousness, Lila actually blushed, her eyes darting around, not knowing where to look!
Alexander's deep eyes took in every expression on her face. A disdainful scoff escaped from between his lips and teeth, his tone full of threat, "I'm warning you, don't try any tricks with me, or I'll make you regret it."
Lila nodded mechanically. "I know, I know. I definitely won't play any tricks on you."
Alexander's thin lips moved to her ear, his low voice uttering two words, "Beg me!"
"Huh?"
She was confused for a moment before remembering, He wanted her to beg him to eat!
Lila shifted to the side.
Things had come to this point, and as the saying goes, those who suit their actions to the time are wise.
Lila stopped being stubborn. After putting some distance between them, she obediently went along with his wishes. "Honey, please eat, won't you? If you don't eat, you'll get hungry, and I'll feel bad about it. The fish I fried is actually pretty good. Could you maybe lower yourself to try it?"
Alexander stared at her lying through her teeth, and somehow found it silly but cute.
His lips curved up almost imperceptibly. "Fine. Remember, you begged me!"
With that, Alexander turned and walked toward the dining table.
Lila let out a long breath of relief.
Why did every interaction with Alexander feel like surviving a disaster?
This Alexander must be a devil, right?
She was so tired.
Lila followed behind him to the dining table and sat down across from him, picking up her utensils, ready to eat something to restore her energy.
Just then, Alexander suddenly asked, "What did you make?"
"My homemade meat sauce with pasta!"
"I've never eaten food like this before."
She launched into her sales pitch mode again. "Well, you can try it today. This is meat I ground myself with my own sauce recipe, paired with pasta. It tastes really good, the texture is amazing. This meat sauce is my absolute favorite, so today I wanted to make it for you to try. It's like sharing my favorite thing with you."
She said it so sincerely, as if it were true.
Alexander suddenly looked her over, then with a let's-see attitude, took a bite.
"How is it?" Lila asked expectantly, watching him eat.
He gave a slight nod of approval, looking very dignified.
Lila felt like she'd been granted a pardon. She instantly broke into a smile, even looking a bit smug. "See, I told you it was good."
