Chapter 144
Since he was already prepared anyway, he might as well speak up openly, "In the master bedroom on the second floor. You can go up and take a look, but please be quiet—wouldn't want to wake her. Lila likes to sleep in."
Gaia looked at Alexander suspiciously, "You know her that well already?"
"We sleep together every day. Isn't it normal to know her habits?"
Gaia snorted.
Without wasting more words on him, Gaia went upstairs. Standing at the master bedroom door, she pushed it open very gently and saw Lila actually sleeping in her grandson's bed. A satisfied smile appeared on her face.
Just as she was about to look away and close the door, she suddenly realized something.
Why weren't Lila's shoes by the bed?
And why weren't Lila's clothes on the rack in the room?
Gaia had lived for decades with plenty of experience. If she couldn't see through this little trick, she would have lived all these years for nothing.
She understood everything.
Her dear grandson was putting on a show for her.
Gaia gently closed the door and turned to look at Alexander, "When are you planning to give me a great-grandchild?"
He directly passed the buck to Lila, "Lila says we'll have kids after she falls in love with me."
Gaia nodded seriously and commented, "When did my grandson learn to respect people? How rare."
Alexander fell silent.
A few seconds later, he looked at the old lady and said, "Grandma, I'm planning to visit Lila's grandmother with her today. What gifts do you think would be appropriate?"
Gaia's interest was instantly piqued, "Really?"
"Yes."
"Good, you should go see her family. You two haven't even done the traditional visit since getting married. How about you bring..."
Gaia listed some expensive supplements and fruits.
Alexander agreed, "Okay, got it."
Gaia looked at him and said, "Since you two have plans today, I won't stay long. I'll be going now."
Alexander deliberately suggested, "How about I wake Lila up so she can chat with you?"
Gaia glared at him, her eyes seeming to say "dear grandson, haven't you had enough of this act?"
However, when she spoke, Gaia said lightly, "Never mind. Next weekend you two can come to the Mansion and have dinner with me. That'll make me happy enough. I won't stay today."
"Okay, I'll walk you downstairs."
With that, Alexander turned around.
As he turned, Gaia saw the gauze wrapped around his head. She immediately grabbed his arm and asked with concern, "My grandson, what happened to your head? Why is it bandaged? Are you hurt? Is it serious?"
"It's nothing."
"How can a head injury be nothing? What happened?"
Seeing Gaia's insistence on getting to the bottom of it, Alexander slowly said, "During intimate time with your granddaughter-in-law, I accidentally rolled off the bed and hit the nightstand."
Gaia paused, then casually chuckled, "I see. Then I should have someone custom-make you an extra-large bed, so it won't limit your performance or delay me from holding my great-grandchild."
Alexander forced himself to say, "Whatever makes you happy."
Gaia scoffed and headed downstairs.
Intimate time?
She bet Lila hit him with something!
Although she could tell her grandson hadn't actually shared a bed with Lila yet, her visit today did confirm that her granddaughter-in-law was sleeping in his bed, right?
That counted as progress.
She wasn't in a hurry. They could take their time.
Only one month had passed of the whole year. There was still plenty of time ahead.
