Chapter 116
Lila responded and walked over to him.
Mr. Mason took the opportunity to point at the spot next to Alexander, "Why don't you sit here, Miss Driver."
Lila was planning to sit there anyway.
She couldn't possibly sit next to strangers, and besides, she was the only woman at this drinking table.
But she didn't expect that as soon as she sat down, Mr. Mason would immediately sit down right next to her.
That wouldn't have been a problem, except that Mr. Mason kept staring at her.
His gaze made her uncomfortable.
Lila held out for several seconds, and when she noticed he had no intention of looking away, she simply turned her head to look directly at him, "Is there something on my face?"
Mr. Mason smiled lecherously and shook his head, "No, no, Miss Driver, you're just too beautiful. I've been in business for so many years, and I've never seen a driver as pretty as you. May I ask your name?"
Her name?
She was just Alexander's driver, here to accompany him to this business dinner. She wasn't anyone important - there was no need to give her name.
Lila didn't want to give it either.
She turned to look at Alexander, using her eyes to send him a signal for help.
But Alexander acted like he didn't see anything.
He was talking business with someone at the table, completely indifferent to what was happening to her.
When Lila didn't give her name, Mr. Mason pulled out his phone, "Miss Driver, how about we exchange contact information? That way, if Mr. Sinclair has too much fun drinking at future dinners and accidentally gets drunk and needs someone to pick him up, I can contact you."
"That won't be necessary. Our boss doesn't usually get drunk."
"You never know about these things."
Lila wanted to refuse, but she was afraid that rejecting him would anger Mr. Mason and ruin Alexander's business deal, and then Alexander would take it out on her.
In the end, she took out her phone.
At this moment, Alexander finished discussing some details with the person next to him. He picked up his wine glass and raised it toward him, "Mr. Erik, let me toast you."
Mr. Erik felt very honored, "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare. Let me toast Mr. Sinclair."
Alexander clinked glasses with him and brought the wine to his lips. As he tilted his head back to drink, his eyes glanced sideways at Lila.
She was operating her phone, her face looking unhappy.
After finishing his drink, Alexander set his glass down in front of Lila with a "thunk", "Pour me a drink."
This time, being asked to pour Alexander's drink as his driver in front of a bunch of strangers, Lila was more than happy to do it. Plus, it gave her a perfect excuse to put down her phone and avoid adding that uncomfortable guy's contact information.
But just as she was about to reach for the bottle, Mr. Mason beat her to it.
Mr. Mason looked at Alexander with a flattering expression, "Mr. Sinclair, here, let me pour for you."
Lila pressed her lips together and said nothing.
She thought Alexander wouldn't say anything either.
But to her surprise, he repeated, "I told her to pour it."
As he spoke, Alexander's face was stern, his tone cold.
Mr. Mason's movements froze instantly. After a few seconds, he smiled awkwardly and placed the bottle next to Lila, "Then let Miss Driver pour it. I was being presumptuous." After saying this, he laughed awkwardly a couple of times.
Lila picked up the glass and obediently poured Alexander's drink.
Alexander's gaze casually swept over Mr. Mason, and when he spoke, his tone was slightly raised, making it impossible to tell if he was pleased or angry, "Mr. Mason seems to be getting along quite well with my driver?"
Hearing this, Mr. Mason thought he was trying to set him up with the driver, and eagerly expressed his strong interest, "Mr. Sinclair, your driver is just too beautiful - innocent and sweet. I really haven't seen this pure type of driver in a long time."
