Chapter 82 Can't Control

Diana had just taken a bite of food and choked on it, coughing violently.

Henry hurriedly came and gently patted her back.

"What happened? So careless," Juniper frowned, looking innocent.

He glanced at her, thinking, 'You don't know what happened to her? Drop the act.'

Juniper chuckled softly, thinking, 'Diana is so timid, she can't even take this small joke.'

Diana calmed her breathing and laughed dryly. "Mrs. Spencer, please don't joke around."

It was quite scary.

Juniper laughed. "I've had a hard life, only gave birth to two sons. When I was pregnant with Henry, I was so happy thinking I might have a daughter, but it turned out to be another son. So, I've always wanted a daughter."

"What I mean is, if you don't mind, I can take you as my goddaughter."

Henry's face darkened. "I do!"

"You mind?" She snorted, "Dealwith it!"

After several confrontations, Diana knew Henry couldn't do anything about Juniper. She cleared her throat to break the stalemate. "Mr. Spencer, have you had lunch?"

"No." His face was expressionless.

Juniper shrugged. "I only bought lunch for two. If you want to eat, go buy it yourself."

Henry went out to eat, and when he returned, Juniper had already gone back to the hotel to rest.

Diana received a call from the police station.

"Ms. Windsor, Aurora has confessed. If it's convenient for you, please come to the station soon. Some of the thugs we caught are not cooperating, and we need to confirm some details with you," the police said.

"Okay," Diana agreed.

When she hung up the phone, Henry said, "Aurora's arrest impacted the Windsors greatly.."

"I know." She nodded.

Otherwise, Celeste wouldn't have knelt down to beg her.

"The Windsor family's company has been in bad shape recently. After this incident, they're nearly collapsing. Nathan is planning to hold a press conference to announce that he is severing ties with Aurora to save the company," Henry continued.

"That's none of my business," Diana said coldly.

She had already settled things with the Windsors, her tone firm and resolute.

Henry sat down on the edge of the bed, smiling as he touched her face. His rough fingertips brushed against her delicate skin, making it itch a little.

Diana instinctively wanted to dodge, but he held the back of her head, unable to move.

His nose brushed against hers, their breaths mingling as they got closer, hot and erratic.

He didn't make a move, only rubbing against her, making it unbearable.

Diana's heart raced, and she grabbed his clothes tightly. "Don't do this."

Her voice was coquettish, like she was whining.

"You can't bear it any more?" He chuckled.

"Are you going to kiss me or not?" She asked.

"Why didn't you reply to my messages?" He ignored what she asked.

She didn't expect him to bring this up and was stunned for a few seconds.

During Henry's time back in Evergreen City, she hadn't replied to his messages.

"Are you so petty, holding a grudge against me?" Diana retorted.

He laughed out loud and lowered his head to kiss her.

He was skilled, making her go weak in just a few moves.

If they weren't in the hospital, he might've lost control. After the kiss, he didn't pull away but lightly pecked at the corner of her lips, his voice hoarse. "You're heartless."

Too intimate, too ambiguous.

Diana looked at him, wanting to ask if he liked her.

But before she could, she saw someone standing outside the small window on the ward door.

Henry turned his head and followed her gaze, seeing Oliver. He didn't know how long he had been standing there.

He opened the door, and Oliver walked in holding a bag of fruit and a bouquet of roses.

The news of Celeste forcing Diana at the hospital had already spread. Oliver knew she had been kidnapped and hospitalized, coming in a hurry. Through the small window on the door, he saw her and Henry being intimate. It was more shocking than the kiss at the auction! They were kissing passionately and deeply.

Diana's flushed face and tender expression pierced his heart.

For a moment, he wanted to rush in, but he had seen Henry's methods. If he took one step forward, his hard-earned business over the years would collapse instantly.

"Mr. Smith, what brings you here?" He occupied the doorway, clearly not intending to let him in.

"I came to see a friend." In front of him, Oliver didn't dare say he came to see Diana.

"What a coincidence," Henry said.

The air between the two men needed no words.

Henry raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Not here to see a friend? Then why aren't you going to see them?"

"I'm leaving now," Oliver said.

After Oliver left, he returned to the house he shared with Diana. He had been staying there recently. Thinking of her and Henry's intimacy, he angrily crushed the roses, but the thorns pricked him and made his hand bled.

He regretted it, missing Diana so much. He shouldn't have broken off the engagement back then and walk away when she was being harassed.

He didn't believe Henry would really marry her. He was waiting, waiting for her to be abandoned by Henry. By then, she would have to come back to him.

The next day, Diana was discharged from the hospital.

Juniper took her back to Serenity Manor and bought her a bunch of supplements. "You're too thin; you need more nourishment.."

"Thank you, Juniper," Diana said.

At Juniper's strong insistence, Diana changed the way she addressed her.

After Juniper left, Diana cleaned the house, went to the supermarket to buy groceries, and filled the fridge. When she finished making dinner, Henry arrived.

After dinner, Henry held her, his chin rubbing against her neck.

"I have things to do, and I won't be staying here tonight," He said.

With less than half a month until Apex Global Enterprise's anniversary, all the major news media were competing to report and promote it. Henry would definitely be very busy now.

Diana nodded obediently.

He chuckled, "Not asking me to stay?"

"Don't you have important things to do?" She retorted.

"I want to do something important with you first," He smiled at her.

He kissed her ear, arousing her.

"I just got out of the hospital," Diana said.

She had run too hard while escaping, and the aftermath from that left her legs aching.

"Your hands aren't injured, no?" Henry said.

She thought he was really shameless, but she couldn't resist him, so she ultimately caved in.

She didn't know how long it had been, but Diana felt her hand was about to give out. Henry finally let her go and casually handed her two tissues. "Go wash your hands."

He was still wearing his shirt and suit, with his tie on, not even a button undone. But looking further down, it was really a mess.

When Diana came out of the bathroom, he had already fastened his belt with a calm face, still the serious and capable Mr. Smith of the Spencers.

He reached out, signaling her to come over. When he hugged her, he said in a low tone, "Are you sure you want to go to Evergreen City for your PhD?"

"I hadn't decided, but a few days ago I met Mr. Jones. He also thought the school was suitable for me. There's a very good professor who can recommend me, but many people want to study under him, so it will be difficult. Moreover, Elodie is there too; we can take care of each other," Diana said.

She decided to apply to Evergreen City Pacific Grove Medical College mainly because of Marcus.

Henry nodded and kissed her eyes. "I'll be going back to Evergreen City in a few days. Will you come with me then?"
