Chapter 81 Juniper: You Can Call Me Mom
Passersby, including patients and their families, stopped to watch, not knowing what was happening.
"Diana, I know our family has wronged you, but over the years, we've at least raised you. Are you really so heartless? Aurora is just in her early twenties. If she goes to prison, her life will be ruined." Celeste cried bitterly, wiping her tears constantly.
One of the onlookers couldn't stand it. "Stand up first, Madam. Don't kneel."
"I'm begging you." Celeste kneeled and moved over to Diana, grabbing her hand and pleading repeatedly, "She's your cousin, isn't she?"
"Sorry, I don't have a cousin like that," Diana said coldly.
If it weren't for Henry, her life would've been ruined instead!
She was resolute as she shook off Celeste's hand again.
Celeste fell directly to the ground, causing the surrounding people to gasp in surprise and look at Diana with increasingly strange eyes.
"After all, they raised you for over twenty years. No matter what, you shouldn't push her." In their eyes, it looked like Diana had deliberately pushed her away.
"Maybe she's relying on Mr. Spencer now," one of the onlookers said.
"Mrs. Windsor has always been good to her, even kneeling and begging her. However, she didn't even give her a look. How heartless!" another said.
Diana was too famous in Velvet City. The crowd, unaware of the details, thought she was ungrateful.
"Diana, I just want to talk to you for a couple of minutes." Celeste sobbed, wiping her tears pitifully.
Diana sneered, now understanding more deeply that Celeste was the most scheming and vicious among the Windsors. She was two-faced and more disgusting than Aurora.
Just as Diana was about to tear off Celeste's mask, a light chuckle came. Juniper walked over with a takeout box, glancing at Celeste squatting on the ground. "This is the first time I've seen someone so shameless."
"Who are you?" Celeste didn't know Juniper.
"Hold this for me." Juniper handed the food box to Diana, shielding her from Celeste's view.
"Mrs. Windsor, right?" Juniper, with the demeanor of a noblewoman, said gracefully and calmly, "Calling you shameless is being polite."
"Your daughter did something wrong. As parents, you should apologize and make amends immediately."
"But you? In a public place, you throw a tantrum, kneel and play the victim, taking advantage of Diana because she's soft-hearted, forcing her to comply? YYou're so cheeky."
Not just Diana, even the surrounding people couldn't believe Juniper could speak so harshly, hitting Celeste's sore spot directly.
Celeste's face turned pale, her breathing quickened with anger. "Who are you? This is our family matter. It's none of your business."
"I'm making it my business today!" Juniper's tone suddenly changed, becoming sharp and stern.
Her aura at the moment intimidated Celeste.
Juniper continued, "Diana is a good kid, so when you kneeled to push her and pretended to fall, she didn't say anything for your dignity."
""Don't use your age as an excuse to act self-righteous!"
"Since you're forcing her in front of so many people, why not tell everyone what your daughter did and let them judge?"
After Juniper finished speaking, the crowd started to discuss.
Aurora had just been caught, and the police hadn't make it public yet, so everyone was unaware of the situation.
Celeste's face turned ashen as she staggered up from the ground.
Juniper sneered, "Your daughter kidnaps and harms people, and you kneel in public to force the victim's forgiveness The Windsor family is really something."
The word "kidnap" instantly ignited the crowd's interest.
She continued, "Your daughter ruined her own future; that's nobody's business. Did someone force her to hire a kidnapper? Even if you raised Diana for over twenty years, you have no right to ask her forgiveness."
"If it were your daughter who was kidnapped, you'd probably pick up a knife and kill the kidnapper!"
"Overall, you don't really care about her. That's why you can kneel in front of so many people, not caring about how it affects her."
"You were good to her before just to show others and make yourself look kind and virtuous."
Juniper was too sharp.
Celeste's little schemes were nothing in front of her. Her words were satisfying and relieving.
Even the kind image Celeste had painstakingly built over twenty years collapsed instantly!
Celeste trembled with anger, wanting to rush over and tear her mouth apart. But Juniper was elegant and noble, and she didn't dare! She was afraid of provoking someone powerful.
Seeing her timid appearance, Juniper snorted coldly. "Weren't you crying and making a scene just now? Come at me if you have the guts. Bullying the defenseless Diana is shameless of you."
Diana looked at Juniper, feeling a mix of emotions with slightly red eyes and a tinge of bitterness at the tip of her nose.
The crowd, who initially thought Diana was heartless, now looked at Celeste with increasingly strange eyes after hearing the reason.
"Kidnapping? That's bold," one said.
"Aurora tried to seduce Mr. Spencer before and got caught," another one said.
"So the whole family is shameless," another said.
The crowd's comments made Celeste feel humiliated.
She took a deep look at Diana and left in despair.
"Alright, it's almost mealtime. Everyone, go have your lunch." The hospital security arrived to disperse the onlookers.
After the scolding, Juniper felt refreshed. She turned to Diana. "Let's go back to have lunch."
In the ward, she was in a good mood, laying out the food boxes one by one.
"I didn't know what you like to eat, so I just bought a bit of everything. Vegetables, fish, black pepper bamboo shoots with beef cubes, and some soup. The restaurant also gave me a fruit platter." Juniper smiled. "There's a lot. Let's eat together."
"Okay." Diana smiled.
She now understood that Juniper was a good person. She was actually a bit like Simon, cold and aloof at first, but after getting to know her, Diana realized she was kind.
From Simon's personality, she could tell the Spencers had a great family atmosphere.
"Silly girl, why just stand there when you're being bullied?" Juniper frowned, "If it weren't for me, you'd probably suffer again today."
"No, I wouldn't," Diana said.
She wasn't a pushover. Since she left the Windsors, she wouldn't feel sympathy for them anymore.
Even if Juniper hadn't stepped in, she would've exposed Celeste's true face.
"One shouldn't be too kind. We don't start trouble, but that doesn't mean we're afraid of it." Juniper said earnestly, "Look at you, so thin that it makes me feel distressed."
She didn't know that Henry's favorite part of Diana was her slim waist.
Diana nodded, her eyes slightly teary. She took a bite of food, her voice tinged with a bit of a sob. "Since my parents passed away, no one has said such things to me."
Henry heard that Celeste had come to the hospital and knew she would trouble Diana.
He rushed over, not even bothering to knock and opening the door, only to hear Juniper say, "If you don't mind, you can call me Mom."
