Chapter 189 Not Refusing Cameron

Chapter 189 Not Refusing Cameron

Moonlight filtered through the car window like a delicate veil, gently covering Olivia's sleeping face. It made her skin look so beautiful, her long lashes glowing faintly.

The scene was so perfect that Cameron was completely mesmerized.

He stared, his heart unconsciously beating faster.

Even though he'd seen this scene many times before, each time it still made his heart race.

All his unhappiness and disappointment simply melted away.

He took off his jacket and gently draped it over Olivia.

He thought, if Olivia wasn't asleep, she'd probably be willing to give him a chance. Or at least she'd consider it carefully. Compared to Jared, he had to be the better choice, right?

At the mention of Jared, Cameron's expression changed slightly.

He'd never really considered him a friend anyway.

Cameron unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to the side. He quietly watched Olivia, his gaze focused and serious, as if trying to etch this moment forever into his memory.

After who knows how long, Olivia woke up feeling thirsty, still half-asleep.

She sensed someone beside her. "Thirsty."

"Here." Cameron quickly unscrewed the water bottle he always kept in the car and handed it to her.

Olivia took the cup. The water slowly slid down her throat, and she immediately felt much more awake.

She opened her eyes slightly and saw Cameron's face right in front of her. She froze for a moment, then realized she was still in the car. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

Olivia's voice was soft, with a hint of drowsiness.

Cameron's lips curved up, his eyes gentle. "You were sleeping so soundly, I couldn't bear to wake you."

Olivia's cheeks flushed slightly. She turned her head to look out the car window.

The night was pitch black, with only streetlights giving off a dim yellow glow, adding a touch of warmth to the quiet night.

Cameron looked at Olivia's profile, a sudden impulse rising in his heart.

He hesitated, then reached out and gently took Olivia's hand.

Olivia's body stiffened, but she didn't pull away.

Joy flashed in Cameron's eyes. He held Olivia's hand tightly, as if afraid she might suddenly disappear. "Olivia, I..."

"Olivia!" Sophie was worried when Olivia didn't come back for so long. She came out to check and happened to see Cameron and Olivia in the car.

Sophie's appearance broke the intimate atmosphere between them.

Olivia took the chance to pull her hand away from Cameron's.

She hadn't pulled away earlier because she'd thought of Justin.

She didn't want to upset Cameron before Justin's situation was resolved.

"Thanks, you should head back and rest early."

"Okay, you too. Don't worry too much about Justin's situation. Based on the current evidence, there's no way to prove Justin did anything to Jennifer." Cameron got out of the car specifically to go over everything with Olivia one more time.

After talking with Cameron, Olivia felt much more at ease.

"I understand. Good night."

"Good night." Cameron stood there, watching Olivia go inside.

He stared intently at Olivia's figure, his brow gradually furrowing. A crazy idea flashed through his mind, but he quickly dismissed it.

When the door closed, blocking out that intense gaze, Olivia finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Every time she interacted with Cameron, she was terrified he might discover her secret.

But she had no choice but to see him.

Sophie looked worried. "Olivia, are you okay? You look so pale, and you're sweating."

Olivia shook her head. "I'm fine, probably just a bit hungry."

Since getting pregnant, whenever Olivia was still awake at ten o'clock, she'd want a late-night snack. Having just slept for over an hour made her even hungrier.

Sophie went to the kitchen to prepare a snack for Olivia.

"Just take a shower, and it'll be ready when you come out."

"Sophie's the best to me." Olivia smiled.

"Of course." Sophie's face also wore a smile, but after Olivia went into her room, the smile disappeared, replaced by a worried look.

Olivia went into her room and immediately messaged Justin, telling him everything Cameron had said.

The next second, Olivia got a call from Justin.

"Justin, why are you still up so late?"

"Olivia, really? Cameron really said that?" Justin was thrilled. He'd been so worried he was practically pulling his hair out.

"Of course it's true. Why would I lie to you? Just lay low for now. When the time is right, I'll let you know. Stop overthinking things." Olivia thought of something and added, "Also, tell Charlotte not to contact you during this time. Wait until everything's over."

She wasn't sure how things would develop next and was afraid Justin's situation might drag Charlotte into it. She worried that Rowan would just want to scold or even hit Justin.

At the mention of Charlotte, Justin turned to look at Charlotte, who had fallen asleep from exhaustion, his face turning red.

He had told Charlotte about this, but she refused to leave. She said she wanted to disappear with him for a while, then kissed him.

For some reason, he felt like Charlotte couldn't keep her hands off him.

Of course, he was too embarrassed to tell Olivia these things.

"Okay, I'll tell her."

After talking to Justin, Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.

She held her phone, thought for a moment, and sent Cameron a message: [Thank you.]

Cameron had just met up with Quinn. Seeing Olivia's message, he quickly replied: [No need to thank me, get some rest.]

Quinn glanced over and immediately grinned.

"Cleared up the misunderstanding with Olivia?"

"It's not that easy." Cameron put down his phone and leaned back. "At least we need to get everything investigated first. But then something happened with Jennifer, and it involves Justin."

Quinn's eyes lit up with interest. "Tell me more."

Cameron gave Quinn a brief rundown of everything. "Since you're so free, look into it all."

Quinn's eyes widened. "Obviously, Justin was set up. Hurry up and find out who impersonated your secretary's assistant."

"But Justin's pretty naive, too. Someone tells him to deliver documents that late, and he just goes."

"By the way, what documents?"

"Nothing was found at the scene, and he definitely didn't look at them." Cameron knew Justin's personality well - he was very serious about his work. He took a sip of red wine, but couldn't really taste it.

He wasn't worried about Justin's situation right now. He was thinking about him and Olivia.

Quinn patted Cameron's shoulder. "Being good to someone isn't that complicated, is it? Just give her the best things in the world. But most importantly, give her your heart."

Cameron felt like Quinn was talking nonsense.

Wasn't he already doing something that simple?

But Olivia didn't seem to buy it, leaving him helpless.

"Switch it up."

"Switch to someone else?" Quinn was shocked. "Well, that would be the easiest solution."

Cameron's brow twitched hard, his tone displeased. "Switch you out, not her. I'd never switch her."

Quinn laughed. "Of course I know that. Just joking with you."

He picked up his wine and took a sip. "But between you and Olivia, it's not just about those missing three years. It's more about Jennifer."

"Make her get rid of the baby."
