Chapter 192
"What is it?"
William asked curiously.
"Help me spread the word that I'm taking back control of the Johnson Group. There'll be a press conference tomorrow."
William raised an eyebrow, immediately understanding her intention.
"You want to use this news to force Brian out?"
Emily nodded, her eyes full of coldness.
"What Brian cares about most is the Johnson Group, but right now the Johnson Group is in trouble. If he hears I'm taking it back, he definitely won't be able to sit still. Once he gets anxious, he'll slip up."
Emily's logic was tight and interlocking.
William looked at her with admiration in his eyes.
"Alright, I'll arrange it for you."
He took out his phone and made a call.
"Help me spread the word..."
"Yes, as fast as possible. It'd be best if everyone knows by today."
After hanging up, William looked at her.
"The news will get out today. Are you ready?"
Emily took a deep breath and nodded.
"I'm ready."
She'd been waiting for this day far too long.
The news spread even faster than Emily had expected.
That afternoon, major financial media outlets reported the story.
[Emily's Strong Return: Will the Johnson Group Welcome a New Era?]
[William Brown's Fiancée Takes Over the Johnson Group: Business Strategy or Personal Ambition?]
Various headlines flooded everywhere, instantly exploding across business news.
Meanwhile, in a remote town in a neighboring state, Brian was hiding out at a friend's winery, living a life on the run.
The winery was located on the outskirts of town, surrounded by vast vineyards. The environment was quiet and the location hidden—a perfect hideout.
To make his hiding more comfortable, the winery owner had set up a small room for him with all necessary amenities.
Brian was sitting on the sofa, holding a bottle of red wine, watching TV with boredom.
Suddenly, a news alert popped up.
[According to our latest report, Emily will hold a press conference tomorrow to officially announce she's taking back control of the Johnson Group.]
Hearing this, Brian dropped the wine bottle with a crash, red wine instantly splashing everywhere.
He jumped up, staring at the TV screen, his face dark with anger.
"Impossible! This can't be! What right does she have to take over the Johnson Group? The Johnson Group is mine, it's mine!"
He trembled with agitation, grabbing the remote from the coffee table and pressing buttons wildly.
His frantic behavior looked like he wanted to smash the TV.
Just then, the door suddenly opened from outside.
A man in his sixties walked in.
He wore casual clothes, his hair was gray, but he looked energetic with sharp eyes.
He was the winery owner and Brian's friend, Samuel Wright.
Samuel looked at the mess in the living room, his expression immediately darkening.
"Brian, what are you doing?"
Seeing him enter, Brian barely suppressed his anger, but his expression remained extremely unpleasant.
"Samuel, have you seen the news? That bitch Emily is trying to steal the Johnson Group!"
Samuel looked at the broken glass and spilled wine on the floor. Instead of responding, he walked over, picked up the remote, and turned off the TV.
"Calm down first."
Hearing this, Brian still reacted emotionally.
"How can I calm down? That's my company, the company I worked so hard to keep in my hands!"
Seeing him like this, Samuel frowned, his tone carrying some reproach.
"Your company? You can barely take care of yourself now, and you're still talking about the Johnson Group?"
Brian was stunned by these words, his face flushing red, but he didn't dare argue back.
He really was at the end of his rope now.
If Samuel hadn't taken him in, he probably wouldn't even have a place to stay.
"Samuel, I'm sorry. I got too worked up just now and broke your things. I'll pay you back, I definitely will!"
Samuel laughed coldly.
"Pay me back? With what? Your pockets are emptier than your face right now. You're living off my charity, and you're talking about paying me back."
Brian's face reddened with embarrassment. Reluctantly, he pulled out a bank card from his pocket and handed it over.
"Samuel, there's still two hundred thousand in this card. Take it for now, consider it compensation for the damage."
Samuel took the bank card, his expression softening slightly.
"Tell me, what's really going on? Why is Emily suddenly taking over the Johnson Group?"
Brian gritted his teeth and explained the whole situation.
Of course, he only told the parts he knew.
"It's mainly because William is backing Emily up. Otherwise, how would she dare go against me! She's just relying on William's power to destroy me! And that bitch must have been instructed by William. Otherwise, how would she dare covet the Johnson Group!"
At this point, he was grinding his teeth with hatred.
"Samuel, can you help me figure something out? I can't let the Johnson Group fall into her hands!"
As Brian spoke, tears welled up in his eyes.
He'd worked so hard to clean out Amelia's people from the Johnson Group and make it completely his own.
But now, that bitch was making a comeback.
And this time, William hadn't even shown up personally—he just pushed Emily to the front.
But what difference did that make to him?
Brian was full of resentment and could only pin all his hopes on Samuel.
Samuel had been listening casually, as if watching a joke.
But when "William" came out of Brian's mouth, Samuel's expression changed dramatically.
He suddenly stood up, staring at Brian with sharp eyes.
"Who did you say? William?"
Brian was startled by his sudden reaction and nodded blankly.
"Yes, William."
"Which William are you talking about?"
Samuel kept pressing, anger burning in his eyes, as if he wanted to tear Brian apart.
Brian shivered and quickly explained through gritted teeth.
"William Brown from the Brown Group! I don't know why, but he got involved with Emily, and they seem pretty close. And if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be in this situation today! If Emily is the main culprit, then William is her biggest accomplice!"
At this point, Brian still hadn't noticed Samuel's strange reaction.
But facing his cold expression, Brian instinctively lowered his voice.
"Samuel, is something wrong?"
Samuel's face became extremely ugly, fire practically shooting from his eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"
This seemingly random question completely confused Brian.
"Tell you what?"
