Chapter 191
"Alright, let's have breakfast. After we eat, we'll take you guys to school."
William came downstairs at that moment, holding three small backpacks in his hands.
"I've checked all the backpacks. Everything you need is in there."
Emily took the backpacks, looking at him with some surprise.
"When did you pack these?"
William sat down beside Emily and poured her a glass of milk.
"I got up at six this morning. I was worried you'd be too tired, so I wanted to let you sleep a bit longer."
Emily felt a warmth in her heart and smiled as she took the milk from him.
"Thank you."
"No need to be so polite with me."
William chuckled softly and reached out to ruffle her hair.
Nina watched from the side, covering her mouth and giggling. "Mom and Dad are so mushy."
"I'm used to it."
After Nina finished speaking, Oscar added that comment with a blank expression.
Emily's face reddened at the children's teasing. She glared at William, signaling him to be mindful of the occasion.
William didn't care at all and said matter-of-factly.
"We have a good relationship. You should be happy about that."
The three children looked at each other, shook their heads in unison, and continued eating breakfast.
After the family of five finished breakfast, William personally drove the three children to school.
The car stopped at the school entrance. Emily looked through the window and couldn't help but gasp at how impressive the school looked.
The school covered a huge area, and the entrance alone was built like a castle.
Several uniformed security guards stood at the gate, looking incredibly prestigious.
"This school is...?"
Facing Emily's curious question, William casually explained.
"This is the best private school in the city, from kindergarten through high school. The teaching staff and educational resources are all top-tier."
Emily couldn't help but sigh. "The tuition here must be really expensive."
"It's alright, just a few hundred thousand a year."
William said it casually, but Emily was shocked to hear it.
A few hundred thousand a year, and that's per person. For three children, that's almost two million.
This really was the world of the wealthy - something she wouldn't have even dared to imagine before.
As soon as the car stopped, a middle-aged man in a suit walked over and personally opened the car door for them.
"Mr. Brown, you're here. Welcome, welcome."
The middle-aged man's face was full of smiles, his attitude incredibly attentive.
Looking at the name tag on his chest, it said Principal.
Emily was somewhat surprised.
He didn't look like a principal at all - more like an overly eager hotel doorman.
William got out of the car and nodded slightly.
"Mr. Hall, thank you for your trouble."
Peter Hall quickly waved his hand. "No trouble at all. Having you send your children to our school is an honor for us."
Then his gaze fell on Emily, and he asked with some scrutiny.
"And this is...?"
"This is my fiancée, Emily Johnson."
William introduced her naturally, his arm sliding around Emily's waist.
Peter's eyes lit up at this, and he immediately greeted her warmly.
"So this is Mrs. Brown! What an honor. You're so young and beautiful - no wonder Mr. Brown is smitten."
Emily felt a bit embarrassed being called "Mrs. Brown," but she still smiled politely.
"Thank you, Mr. Hall."
"You're welcome. If you need anything in the future, just let me know."
Peter then bent down to look at the three children, his face full of kindness.
"These must be the children I haven't met yet. They're so adorable - I can tell they're smart and clever."
Nina felt a bit shy from the praise and hid behind Emily, peeking out with half her face to look at him.
Oscar remained calm and politely bowed to him.
"Mr. Hall, nice to meet you."
Peter was flattered and nodded repeatedly.
"Nice to meet you too. What a well-mannered child."
He then turned and gestured for William and Emily to follow.
"Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, please come in. I can give you a tour of the school."
William nodded and walked in holding Emily's hand.
Peter walked while introducing everything - from the academic buildings to the library, from the gymnasium to the arts center. He introduced every place in detail with great enthusiasm.
Emily listened, her face nearly frozen from smiling.
Not because she wasn't happy, but because Peter's enthusiasm was really over the top.
She had to maintain a polite smile the whole time, and her cheeks were getting sore.
Taking advantage of a moment when Peter turned to talk to another teacher, Emily leaned close to William's ear and whispered.
"It's really nice to have money."
William looked down at her and his lips curved slightly upward.
"Just realizing that now?"
Hearing his teasing, Emily rolled her eyes at him, but the smile in her face and eyes couldn't be hidden.
After the tour, Peter personally escorted the three children to their respective classrooms.
Nina was assigned to the senior kindergarten class, while Oscar was placed directly in first grade.
Originally, Oscar should have been in kindergarten given his age, but after Peter saw his test scores, he immediately placed him in first grade without hesitation.
"This child is simply a genius. He doesn't need to go to kindergarten."
Those were Peter's exact words.
At the time, Emily thought it sounded a bit exaggerated, but seeing Oscar's calm expression, she didn't say much.
After settling all three children, Emily and William stood at the entrance for a while.
"Mommy, you have to come pick me up after school!"
Nina pressed against the classroom window, waving goodbye to Emily reluctantly.
Emily nodded and smiled.
"Okay, Mommy will definitely come pick you up."
On the other side, Oscar was already sitting in his classroom.
Oscar sat in the classroom, his gaze following Emily until her figure disappeared at the end of the hallway.
After leaving the school, William took Emily to a nearby upscale restaurant for a meal.
The two found a table by the side and sat down. William ordered several dishes that Emily liked.
"What are your plans going forward?"
William asked casually while pouring water for her.
Emily took the glass, was silent for a moment, then her eyes suddenly became serious.
"I want to rebuild the Johnson Group."
William wasn't surprised by this. He just looked at her quietly, waiting for her to continue.
"The Johnson Group was my mom's life's work. I can't just watch it fall apart. Besides, I want Brian to know that if he thinks he can monopolize the Johnson Group by driving my mom away, he's dreaming! I want him to watch as I run the Johnson Group better than he ever did, without relying on anyone."
Emily gripped her water glass, her fingers tightening slightly.
William looked at her with admiration in his eyes.
"Do you need my help?"
Facing his offer, Emily shook her head, her eyes determined.
"No, this time I want to do it on my own."
However, she changed her tone, a sly smile playing at the corners of her lips.
"Though there is one thing I need you to help me with."
"What's that?"
