Chapter 193

Chapter 193

Samuel's furious roar startled Brian so badly that he shuddered all over, shrinking back as his voice cracked.

"Samuel, I don't know what you mean. Why don't you spell it out for me?"

Seeing him probe cautiously, Samuel stared at him with a dark look in his eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier that you had a grudge against William?"

Brian was even more confused by this. He thought hard but couldn't figure out why his beef with William would upset Samuel.

But he'd always been good at reading the room, and now that he was living under someone else's roof, knowing Samuel was angry, Brian naturally wouldn't push back.

"Samuel, it's all my fault. I didn't explain things clearly. Please don't be angry. I just didn't know that you and William..."

At this point, he seemed to realize something, his eyes widening suddenly.

"Samuel, do you also have a grudge against William?"

Facing his question, Samuel didn't answer. He just snorted coldly, walked to the window, turned his back to Brian, shoved his hands in his pockets, his shoulders tense.

Seeing this, Brian's heart skipped a beat, then he felt both shocked and pleased.

The shock was that he never knew Samuel and William had bad blood between them.

But that was also the good news.

If they had a grudge, then Samuel and he were in the same boat. Brian didn't need to worry anymore about Samuel kicking him out.

"Samuel, come on, tell me—what's the deal between you and William?"

Brian moved closer, his face plastered with a flattering smile, asking carefully.

"It's a long story."

Samuel turned to look at him, his voice low, with a hint of displeasure in his tone.

"I have a grudge against the Brown family, so naturally William is also my enemy—a sworn enemy."

Hearing this, Brian's heart leaped with joy, but he didn't dare show it on his face. He could only nod repeatedly, echoing his words.

"Tell me everything about Emily and William, from beginning to end, every single detail. Don't leave anything out."

Samuel stared at him intently, ordering coldly.

"Samuel, what do you want to know?"

Brian asked, trying to figure out what he was after.

"Everything."

Samuel's voice carried an unquestionable authority. "How did they meet? What's their relationship? How far have things gone? How much does William care about her? Tell me everything."

Though Brian didn't understand why Samuel was pressing for these details, he still obediently began to talk.

In his memory, he wasn't actually clear on exactly how Emily and William got involved.

He just knew that Emily suddenly got pregnant years ago and was kicked out of the Johnson family. Later, when she showed up with a child, somehow she'd gotten tangled up with William, and the two of them ended up together.

At the time, Brian was pretty puzzled about it.

After all, in his view, Emily was just an unwanted slut. With William's family background, how could he possibly be interested in her?

But life is full of surprises that are hard to figure out.

After talking about some basic things between Emily and William, Brian's tone took on more jealousy and resentment.

He'd originally thought that with Emily getting involved with William, as Emily's father, he'd at least get some benefits. But not only did he get nothing, he ended up getting screwed over instead.

All because of that ungrateful daughter!

"That bitch Emily, I don't know what dumb luck she had to make William fall for her. Without William, what is she? She's not even good enough to be my servant."

At this point, Brian spat viciously.

Watching his vicious expression, Samuel frowned slightly, his eyes flickering.

"Are you saying William's feelings for Emily are genuine?"

Facing his question, Brian slapped his thigh, answering with certainty.

"Absolutely!"

At this point, his face showed more irritation.

"I've seen it with my own eyes—the way William looks at Emily is completely different from how he looks at others. And you know what? William even had Emily's two kids call him dad, and had his own son call Emily mom. He really treats all these kids like his own flesh and blood, except they're actually bastards Emily had with god knows who."

At this point, he laughed coldly, took a breath, and continued.

"The fact that William let the kids recognize Emily shows he considers her family."

Hearing this, Samuel's eyes suddenly lit up.

"You just said William has three children?"

Brian nodded and carefully explained the situation.

"Right, one child should be his biological kid, raised by William since childhood. But the other two are Emily's kids, bastards from who knows where. But from the outside, their family looks all happy and harmonious, which just pisses me off."

He said this last part almost through gritted teeth, so he didn't notice the change in Samuel's expression.

Samuel paced around the room, his fingers lightly tapping the table.

"Brian, I'm going to ask you a question, and you need to answer honestly."

Meeting his serious gaze, Brian quickly nodded.

"Go ahead."

"Is Emily William's weakness?"

He only asked this one question, which stunned Brian for a moment before he nodded repeatedly.

"Of course! Absolutely! William has no other weaknesses, but when it comes to Emily, he's totally devoted to her. If you want to deal with William, going after Emily would definitely give you the best results."

After saying this, he felt something was off and asked tentatively.

"Samuel, you're not planning to..."

Before he could finish, Samuel raised his hand to cut him off, his lips curling into a meaningful smile.

"That's not something you need to worry about."

He said this while walking up to Brian and patting his shoulder, his tone much gentler than before.

"What you just told me is very useful."

Brian felt somewhat flattered by this and waved his hands repeatedly. "Being able to help you is my honor."

Samuel said nothing, just turned and walked to the coffee table, picked up the bank card from earlier, and returned it to Brian.

"Take it."

"Samuel, what's this about?"

Brian didn't dare take it, but Samuel forced it into his hand.

"How can a man get by without money? Even though you're staying at my place, you still need some cash for emergencies."

Samuel said this casually, but Brian, holding the bank card, felt mixed emotions.

He really couldn't figure out what Samuel was thinking.

Just moments ago he was furiously questioning him, and now he'd returned the money and said all this.

Was this a good thing or a bad thing?

"Samuel, thank you."

Regardless of whether it was good or bad, Brian still pocketed the card, his face full of smiles as he bowed in thanks.
