Chapter 210

Chapter 210

William's kisses rained down on Sophia.

Sophia lay bare on the ground, William on top of her, showering her with eager kisses.

Her smooth skin bore bright red marks, creating a stark contrast.

William's eyes were bloodshot, filled with a stormy intensity, consumed by desire. But as he removed his pants and his manhood was about to enter Sophia, he hesitated.

"What's with that look?"

His gaze was empty, lifeless, and icy, lacking vitality.

William's eyes traveled down to Sophia's usually warm and moist vagina, now unusually dry.

Sophia's body was rejecting him.

Realizing this, William's mind went blank, and he kissed her again.

His thin lips landed on Sophia's sensitive areas, kissing, sucking, and nibbling.

His hands roamed on Sophia's body, eventually reaching between her legs, rubbing and moving against her vagina.

Time passed.

Sophia remained still like a puppet.

She gazed out the window quietly, expressionless, as if shielded from the world, ethereal and distant, as if ready to leave at any moment.

William's movements stopped, his body pressed against hers. "You..."

“Why stop now? Isn’t this what you wanted? Are you satisfied?” Sophia's hoarse voice cut through as she turned her head, her eyes filled with chilling indifference. "Satisfied?"

Confusion flickered in William's narrow eyes.

He lightly touched his thin lips, his eyes filled with turmoil. "Satisfied, sure, satisfied."

William's fingers lightly explored Sophia's soft body in front of him, as if toying with her.

His eyes gleamed with mockery as he spoke disdainfully, "If you want to be a plaything, I'll make your wish come true. From now on, you're my favorite toy, to keep my life company."

The word "toy" echoed in Sophia's mind.

Sophia shut her eyes, a single tear slipping down her cheek.

Unaware, she cried herself to sleep.

When Sophia woke up, darkness surrounded her.

Momentarily confused, she then noticed a pair of cold eyes in the dim moonlight.

"Let's eat," William said, pulling Sophia into his arms and seating her at the dining table.

Surprised, Sophia sniffed, seeing a lavish dinner spread before her, all her favorite dishes.

An eerie silence settled between them once more.

Like a puppet, Sophia quietly finished her meal and retreated to the couch.

Only a day had passed.

Exhausted, Sophia appeared drained, her cheeks hollow, her lips colorless, pale as paper. She sat quietly, curled up.

Observing Sophia's solitary figure at the table, William's heart quivered. It felt like a weight on his chest, making it hard to breathe.

Instinctively, William approached, hesitated, then retreated to his study.

The night deepened.

Silently, Sophia returned to her room.

She had spent the night in that dimly lit space, her body unkempt, emitting a stale odor.

Exiting the bathroom, Sophia shook her head and wearily settled back on the bed.

But soon, the door creaked open.

William's tall form entered, slipping under the covers beside her, wrapping his arms around her waist, their bodies close.

Another night of sleeplessness followed.

William did nothing but hold Sophia in silence.

Both lay awake in bed, feigning sleep.

It was moring.

Both had barely slept, evident from the dark circles under their eyes.

Sophia avoided William, making a beeline for the bathroom.

The phone rang, Amelia's ringtone piercing the air.

Hurrying over, Sophia answered, "Hey, Grandma, good morning."

"How's it going, dear? Safe is growing fast. When are you coming to visit? The little one is changing every day. If you wait too long, Safe won't even recognize you," Amelia's voice crackled with concern.

At the mention of Safe, Sophia's gaze dimmed. She took a deep breath and replied softly, "I know Safe is in good hands with you. It's just that I'm not physically ready to care for the child yet."

"Your health comes first. Childbirth took a toll on you. Take care of yourself. Do you need me to send a doctor over?" Amelia offered.

Sophia's eyes brightened, almost agreeing.

But then, she felt a cold presence behind her.

William's fingers trailed through Sophia's hair, down to her chest, effortlessly taking the phone from her grasp.

"Grandma," William's voice was rough, a sly smile dancing on his lips. "We're good here. No need to worry. Just focus on Safe."

"Okay, but make sure you look after Sophia well, you hear me?" Amelia's instructions flowed through the phone.

Sophia's heart raced.

She stared at the phone.

Amelia was the one who cared for her the most in this household.

If she knew the truth, Amelia would surely help Sophia escape.

But would involving Amelia make things worse?

Sophia was torn, but William had already ended the call.

He lifted Sophia's chin gently, a smirk on his lips. "What's on your mind? Want Grandma to swoop in and save you?"

"I..."

"Don't even go there. You think Grandma can swoop in and save you?"

William gently pulled Sophia close and kicked open the study door.

The safe lay open, revealing files on Ava, Yara, and others, along with passports.

Sophia tensed and asked, "Why do you have these?"

"Why? Just a reminder that if you try to run, I'll make sure they vanish," William's hand rested on Sophia's waist.

Through the fabric, Sophia felt her body stiffen, her nerves on edge.

She tried to step back, to create some space.

But sensing her resistance, William applied pressure and effortlessly drew her into his embrace.

Their breaths mingled.

Feeling defeated, Sophia's voice sounded weary. "Why?"

She didn't love William and William didn't love her.

Couldn't they just go their separate ways and wish each other well?

William's eyes narrowed, his gaze turning icy. "Remember, you provoked me first. If it ends, it'll be on my terms."

Sophia shot William a cold look and left.

A lavish breakfast awaited on the table.

Sophia eyed the peeled egg, ate the white, and left the yolk on a separate plate.

William observed, and then placed the yolk back in Sophia's porridge.

Unlike before, Sophia didn't eat it, placing it back on the empty plate.

"Why? Are you defying me on purpose?"

"I don't like egg yolks."

"You just don't like what I make."

Pushing her utensils aside, Sophia's tone turned frosty. "I've mentioned this before. You just didn't care. Take these clothes, for instance. I prefer plain pajamas, but look in the wardrobe, do you see any plain ones?"
