Chapter 736

Chapter 736

[They did more than just wrong an innocent person—Stella did something totally disgraceful.]

[Yeah, now that the truth's out, Stella should apologize to Margaret.]
[Absolutely, Stella needs to apologize to Margaret publicly so everyone in Harmony City knows.]

Once someone posted this under the news article, it quickly gained likes and support from other netizens.

The whole situation caused quite a stir online.

The journalists, who usually had nothing better to do, finally had a hot story and weren't about to miss this opportunity.

They demanded Stella come out and apologize to Margaret, so they headed straight to the Brown family mansion.

But when they got there, they found the mansion surrounded by a fence and couldn't get in.

Inside the mansion, Stella and Diana were resting when they heard the commotion outside. Startled, Stella jumped out of bed, looking at Diana with a worried expression.

"Mom, what's going on out there?"

Diana hugged Stella tightly and whispered, "Stella, don't be scared. I'll go check. Just stay here and wait for me."

Stella nodded, and Diana headed towards the door, returning shortly after.

"Mom, what happened?" Stella asked urgently.

Diana sighed in frustration. "It's those journalists making all that noise. They're demanding you apologize to Margaret, and they want it to be a public apology."

Stella's face turned pale. "This is too much. What does my issue with Margaret have to do with them? Do they just enjoy causing trouble?"

Diana could see Stella was on the verge of breaking down. She quickly reached out to comfort her, stroking her head. "Stella, ignore them."

Diana covered Stella's ears, trying to block out the noise from the journalists downstairs.

"Stella, it's okay. As long as we stay inside, they can't do anything to us."

Stella was trembling with anger. She couldn't understand why those people wouldn't leave her alone. Did they really want to drive her to death?

Looking up at Diana with teary eyes, Stella asked, "Mom, do they want me dead because I didn't die when I tried to jump before? Are they here to make sure I die this time?"

Diana's heart broke at Stella's words. "No, Stella, don't think like that. We have to stay strong because we haven't gotten our revenge yet."

Hearing the word "revenge," a determined look replaced the sadness in Stella's eyes.

"You're right, Mom. I can't die yet. I have to make them pay first."

The journalists waited outside the Brown family mansion for hours but didn't see Stella or Diana. Finding it pointless, they left and headed to the Brown Group headquarters instead.

They waited there until the end of the workday, but still didn't see Dorian. Refusing to give up on a hot story, they stayed put, hoping to keep the news trending and make more money.

Finally, at 10 PM, they saw Dorian leaving through the back door. Despite his attempt to avoid them, the journalists surrounded him.

"Mr. Brown, can you comment on your company's current situation?"

"Mr. Brown, how has Ms. Brown's negative news impacted your company? Could it lead to bankruptcy?"

"Mr. Brown, have you terminated contracts with other companies in Harmony City?"

Bombarded with questions, Dorian grew increasingly impatient.

"Have you asked enough? I've been working overtime until 10 PM and haven't even had dinner yet. Stop bothering me."

Previously, Dorian had been polite to the journalists to maintain a good image for his company's sake. But now, with the company in dire straits, he felt no need to be courteous.

Even as Dorian lost his temper, the journalists didn't back down, continuing to block his way.

"Mr. Brown, have you seen the news today? People are demanding your daughter Stella publicly apologize to Margaret. What do you think about that?"

"Mr. Brown, if you persuade Stella to apologize, it might help restore your company's reputation. This issue is Stella's fault, not yours."

"If Stella apologizes publicly, it could save your company from going under."

Dorian's expression turned icy. "Are you done yet? I'm not going to make Stella apologize to Margaret. Don't you have anything better to do?"

"If you're so bored, go pick up trash outside my company instead of bothering me."

Dorian stormed off, heading to his car. Seeing the journalists still not giving up, he started his car and drove towards them. Fearful for their safety, they quickly moved out of his way.

Back at the mansion, Stella noticed the journalists had left. An idea formed in her mind.

"Mom, the journalists are gone. Let's use this chance to escape."

Diana was taken aback, not understanding Stella's plan. "Stella, where would we go? At least here we have a place to stay, even if we can't come and go freely."

Stella's eyes hardened with determination.
