Chapter 735

Chapter 735

But even if they figured it all out, what difference would it make? Margaret's parents were gone, and the Neville Group would never be the powerhouse it once was.

These thoughts weighed heavily on Margaret, filling her with deep regret.

She cried herself to sleep on the couch that night.

The next morning, she woke to the sound of footsteps. She looked up, surprised to see Raymond standing there.

When Raymond had walked in and found Margaret asleep on the couch, he wanted to wake her, worried she might be uncomfortable. But seeing her swollen eyes, he realized she had just fallen asleep and didn't have the heart to disturb her.

He quietly headed to the kitchen to make breakfast for her and Liberty, but his movements still woke Margaret.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" he asked softly.

Margaret blinked, realizing she had fallen asleep on the couch the previous night.

Raymond frowned, looking concerned as he approached her.

"Why'd you sleep on the couch? You'll catch a cold, and that can't be comfortable."

Margaret shook her head gently.

"I'm fine. I was just so tired when I got home last night that I crashed on the couch. Is Liberty still asleep?"

Raymond nodded.

"Yeah, she's still in bed. I think we should keep her home from school for a few days. The Brown Group is falling apart. With all the heat Stella’s getting in the press, I’m worried they’ll take it out on Liberty."

After the kidnapping incident, they were all on edge, too scared to let Liberty out of their sight.

Margaret nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea."

Raymond hesitated before speaking again.

"Last night, Ryan found out that Dorian has Stella and Diana locked up in their mansion, not letting them out."

Margaret frowned. While it was good news that Stella and Diana were confined and couldn't harm Liberty, it also meant they might become desperate and take drastic measures.

Before Margaret could respond, Raymond continued.

"And there's more. Dorian's been cheating on Diana for years. He's got a mistress and an illegitimate child. He's kept it a secret until now, but with the Brown family falling apart, he finally told Diana."

Margaret was shocked, unable to believe her ears.

"What? Dorian cheated on Diana and has an illegitimate child?"

This news was explosive. The Brown family was already on thin ice, and Diana was stressed over Stella. Now, Dorian's revelation would be a devastating blow to her.

"I never thought Dorian, who seemed so honest, could do something like this. Looks like the Brown family is falling apart without us lifting a finger," Raymond scoffed.

"Yeah, but it’s for the best. It saves us the trouble."

Margaret had made up her mind. If Diana tried to harm Liberty, she would use Dorian's affair to destroy Diana.

"No one can hurt Liberty," Margaret said firmly. "Let's just wait and see what happens next."

Soon, Liberty woke up and came downstairs, brightening up when she saw them in the living room.

"Mom, Dad, you're both here! Last night, you weren't home when I went to bed."

Liberty's face was full of sadness.

"You've been so busy lately. We haven't even had a proper meal together."

Margaret felt a pang of guilt and hugged Liberty.

"Liberty, soon we'll have more time. Then we'll spend lots of time together, okay?"

Liberty clapped her hands in delight.

"Really? That's great! I just want you both to be with me."

Seeing Liberty so happy, Raymond felt a bit dazed, wondering if Margaret was already picturing a future with him.

Raymond didn't say much, just enjoying the moment. He went to the kitchen and soon returned with breakfast.

Liberty and Margaret were already at the table, waiting patiently.

Liberty, always one to spread joy, clapped her hands again when she saw Raymond with the food.

"Dad, you're the best! I could smell the delicious food before you even came out. I'm so lucky to have a dad who makes me yummy breakfasts every day."

Raymond chuckled.

"Liberty, your compliments are a bit awkward today. You need more practice."

Liberty giggled.

"Okay, Dad. I'll work on it."

Margaret couldn't help but laugh at their exchange.

"Alright, you two, let's eat before it gets cold."

Margaret glanced at her phone to check the news. Stella's scandal was still a hot topic, even without them paying to keep it trending.

People were demanding Stella publicly apologize to Margaret.

[We all thought Margaret was the homewrecker, but it turns out Stella was the shameless one all along.]

[Yeah, I used to think Margaret was the bad guy and even insulted her. Now I feel so stupid for defending Stella.]
