Chapter 732

Chapter 732

The unexpected event had made Margaret tense every time Raymond's phone rang. She couldn't help worrying about what might be happening.

Raymond noticed her unease and offered a reassuring glance.

"Relax, it's just Ryan. Probably something about the company."

Margaret exhaled and nodded. Raymond answered the call.

"Hey, Ryan. What's up? Is something wrong?"

Ryan's voice crackled with excitement.

"Mr. Seymour, there's been a breakthrough in that incident from years ago. I found some clues."

Raymond's hand trembled. It had been over a decade since that case, and despite years of searching, he'd never found any leads. Could Ryan really have uncovered something in just a few days?

"Are you serious, Ryan?"

He sprang to his feet, adrenaline flooding him.

"Yes, Mr. Seymour. I'm serious. It's not completely clear yet, but the lead is important. If you have time, could you come to the office?"

The matter was too complicated to explain over the phone. Raymond nodded. "Okay, I'll be there soon."

After he hung up, Margaret, still anxious, asked, "What happened? Is everything okay?"

Raymond hesitated, he didn't want to alarm her with unconfirmed news, but he also knew leaving without an explanation would only make her worry more. He decided to tell her.

"Ryan called. He said he found clues about the incident from years ago and wants me to go to the office."

Margaret's eyes lit up.

"Really? He found clues?"

"I trust Ryan. If he says he found something, he probably did. Why don't you come with me?"

Margaret considered it and agreed. The incident had affected her deeply, and staying behind would have left her consumed with worry.

"Okay, I'll go with you."

As they were about to leave, Liberty sighed.

"Dad, Mom, no matter how important it is, can you at least finish your meal first? The food's already cold, and it won't taste good if you leave now."

Raymond and Margaret exchanged a look. Despite their urgency, they didn't want to disappoint Liberty.

Margaret sat back down. "You're right, Liberty. We should to eat first."

She said it but hurried through her meal, and Raymond did the same.

"Yeah, Liberty's right. Eating is important."

They ate quickly and, despite their anxiety, finished for Liberty's sake. Afterward, Margaret called Brady over.

"Brady, stay with Liberty while we're out. We might be back late. Let me know immediately if anything happens."

Brady understood the seriousness of Margaret's request. Stella had become desperate and might target Liberty again. Margaret felt uneasy leaving her alone at night.

"Don't worry, Ms. Neville. I'll take good care of Liberty."

Margaret nodded, then she and Raymond left the house.

Liberty sighed.

"Why are my parents always so busy? Can't they even have a proper meal with me?"

Brady offered a gentle smile. "Be patient, Liberty. Do you know what your parents are going to do?"

Liberty shook her head.

"I don't know, but it's probably something to do with the company."

Brady explained, "It's more than that. This time they are investigating the incident from years ago. Do you know what that means?"

Liberty paused, then beamed.

"Brady, if they find out what happened back then, it means the truth will finally come out, right?"

Brady nodded with a smile.

"Exactly. If the truth comes out, the misunderstandings between your parents will be resolved. Without those barriers, they'll have a better chance of being together."

Liberty's eyes sparkled.

"You're right! The resentment will be gone, and then they can be together without issues."

Brady nodded approvingly, pleased with Liberty's understanding.

"I've always seen that your parents still care for each other. They've just been holding back, especially your mom. She still has feelings for your dad but is afraid to face it because of the past."

"If the truth comes out, there will be no more barriers. They can be together freely."

Liberty was overjoyed at the thought.

"Yes, Brady! Then we can all be together more often. I could even move into Dad's house, and Mom could too. That would be amazing."

Thinking about it made Liberty incredibly happy. She even wanted to join them at the office to help investigate.
