Chapter 72 Scarlett Goes Crazy, Scaring Everyone
Seeing Scarlett, Natalia immediately stood up.
"Scarlett, you're finally here! Look at how your husband's mother is treating me! I came as a guest, and she locked me in here with bodyguards watching me. Am I a thief or a criminal?
Scarlett, you're the proper lady of this house after all. You have to stand up for me! You need to get my dignity back today, otherwise who will respect you in this family from now on? Scarlett, wait for me!"
Before Natalia could finish, Scarlett turned around and walked quickly toward the exit.
Natalia hurried after her, rushing forward to grab Scarlett.
"I'm talking to you. Are you deaf or something?"
Scarlett suddenly shook off her hand. Natalia stumbled back two steps and fell onto the lawn, letting out a wail.
"What are you doing! How dare you lay hands on me! My leg! What did I do to deserve this? How did I raise such an ungrateful daughter!"
Scarlett's eyes still felt irritated, her pupils stinging, her vision blurry.
Her own daughter was in such a mess, but Natalia couldn't see any of it. All she knew was how to cause trouble, with eyes only for money.
Natalia figured that if she made enough of a scene, the Wilson family would eventually feel embarrassed and give her money.
Scarlett stepped forward and grabbed Natalia by the collar, sneering coldly.
"Ungrateful daughter? Have you ever acted like my mother? You're making this scene—have you thought about what position this puts me in? Have you considered my situation or my feelings? Just shut up!"
Her eyes were bloodshot, but her expression was ice-cold. She yanked Natalia up by the collar, which scared her a bit.
"You... you..."
"A loving mother raises a filial daughter. You're not loving, and if I show respect to a shameless person like you, I'm just helping a tyrant. You want to yell and make a scene? Fine!"
Scarlett let go of Natalia. Natalia fell back to the ground, not yet getting up.
Suddenly, cold water poured over Natalia's head and face, soaking her to the bone.
Scarlett had grabbed the high-pressure water hose from the flower bed, turned on the valve, and aimed it at Natalia. Natalia screamed, unable to open her eyes.
"Help! Crazy woman! Scarlett, you're insane!"
Natalia rolled and crawled to escape, instantly covered in mud, trampling a large patch of Blair's carefully maintained flowers and plants.
"Stop it! Scarlett, what's gotten into you!"
The commotion was too loud. Blair came out of the villa with people, her face dark, scolding Scarlett.
Scarlett turned the water hose and sprayed it toward Blair.
Blair's advancing steps stopped, and she was helped to retreat in embarrassment.
"Don't you dare!"
Blair nearly got sprayed, glaring at Scarlett in disbelief.
Scarlett dropped the hose and smiled slightly.
"Didn't you tell me to come handle this? If I don't teach her a lesson, she'll come back next time. This is my way of handling it."
Blair was so angry her vision darkened, but Scarlett walked toward the exit.
After just two steps, Scarlett turned back and said with a smile.
"Oh, by the way, I noticed that powder-colored floral double-eared vase in the living room looks pretty nice—seems like it's from the Ming Dynasty. Next time she comes, just smash that one and frame her for it. That'll be enough to get her locked up for a few years.
Then you won't have to worry about her bothering you again or tainting you with her vulgarity. I've told you a solution that works once and for all. Next time she comes to make trouble, just do that, and please don't call me again."
Scarlett nodded and walked out without looking back, soon leaving Blossom Mansion.
Blair swayed, supported by two servants.
Just then, Elliot ran out of the villa. Elliot had just taken medicine and been sleeping.
"Where's Scarlett? Why did Scarlett leave?"
"Don't mention her! Are you trying to make me die of anger too? She's completely lost it!"
Blair shouted angrily. Elliot looked at the messy flower bed, water everywhere, and Natalia just crawling out of the muddy flower bed, mouth hanging open.
"Mom, Scarlett was raised by Daniel after all, and you know what Daniel is like. Scarlett learned from him—even if she can't be a big devil, she's at least a little demon. Scarlett was just pretending to be good before and fooled you too, right?"
Even her beloved Elliot was making her angry. Blair stepped forward to chase Elliot.
Seeing trouble, Elliot turned and ran.
"Mom, calm down! I'll go find Daniel and bring Scarlett back to apologize to you."
Elliot ran off in a flash. Blair couldn't do anything about it and told the servants to throw Natalia out and quickly clean up the mess.
Daniel's room was in another direction of the courtyard, and the house had good soundproofing.
Although he heard some noise outside, he didn't know what was happening.
He wanted to go out, but Alice held him tightly, saying her stomach hurt and she was scared.
Alice's pregnancy had always been unstable. She'd almost had a miscarriage at the hospital before. The doctor hadn't arrived yet, so Daniel suppressed his impatience and reluctantly stayed with her.
Just then, Elliot ran in from outside, looking panicked.
"Daniel, something's wrong! Scarlett and her mom got into a fight in the yard. That crazy woman is so fierce—she kept hitting Scarlett just because she's Scarlett's real mom, beat her until she ran away crying. Daniel, where are you going? Take me with you!"
Before Elliot could finish, Daniel's tall figure was already rushing out like a gust of wind.
"Daniel!" Alice anxiously sat up and called out, but Daniel moved too fast—she couldn't grab him or stop him.
She felt resentful, biting her lip and glaring at Elliot.
Elliot turned around. Alice didn't have time to hide her expression, and Elliot caught her red-handed.
Elliot made a face at her. "You're so ugly! Like a monster. Give it up—Daniel doesn't like you."
Alice was so angry her chest heaved. She grabbed a pillow, almost unable to stop herself from throwing it at Elliot.
But she didn't throw it—instead, Elliot yelped and sat down hard on the floor.
Before Alice could react, Blair came in with servants. Elliot was on the ground, eyes red, sniffling.
"Mom, Daniel left, and Alice took it out on me. She pushed me down."
Blair loved Elliot dearly, especially when he was sick. She immediately checked on Elliot and glared angrily at Alice.
Alice nearly coughed up blood, waving her hands.
"Mrs. Blair Wilson, I really didn't push Mr. Elliot Wilson! I was sitting on the bed and didn't move. I know Mr. Elliot Wilson likes Scarlett and hates me. I'm sorry, I'll leave right now..."
Blair was worried about the baby in her belly and realized it must be Elliot playing tricks. She glared at Elliot.
"Go back to your room and rest! Alice, you rest well too. The doctor will be here soon."
"Okay, I'll do whatever Mrs. Wilson says."
Alice's obedient manner made Blair even more satisfied.
After leaving Blossom Mansion, Scarlett walked faster and faster.
Her vision was blurry. Her foot caught on something, and she fell hard to the ground.
Scarlett instinctively covered her lower abdomen. Without her elbows to support her, her knees hit hard, and she curled up in pain.
Earlier, when she sprayed Natalia with the water hose, she'd gotten wet too.
The wind blew, making her whole body feel cold.
But even colder was Scarlett's heart—it felt like there was a hole dug in it, empty and hollow, with cold wind blowing through.
She wondered if she really was that bad, not worth being loved.
When she was little, Reid and Thora loved her so much, but as soon as they found out she wasn't their biological daughter, they abandoned her immediately.
John and Natalia had no love for her at all.
James was good to her, but he became a vegetable. Magnolia cared for her, but she was Daniel's grandmother after all, part of the Wilson family—there was always a layer between them in many ways.
Scarlett never used to feel sorry for herself, because she still had Daniel.
With Daniel, Scarlett felt she had faith, had the whole world.
But over these four years, her world had been crumbling bit by bit.
Now, even Daniel had left her. He'd stopped wanting her long ago, just like everyone else.
Just as her world was about to collapse completely and bury Scarlett, a voice suddenly sounded above her head.
"Get up!"
