Chapter 73 He Is Really Very Bad
That voice was so familiar.
But how could it be? That person should be staying right by Alice's side at this moment.
Scarlett thought it was ridiculous that she was still having auditory hallucinations.
"Scarlett! You were the one throwing your weight around, and now you're playing weak and pitiful with me!"
However, Daniel's voice rang out above her head again.
Scarlett slowly lifted her head. Only then did Daniel notice that her eyes were unnaturally red.
Especially her right eye—it looked like it was seeping bloody tears.
"What's wrong with your eyes?"
Daniel frowned, bent down and squatted, about to reach out and touch Scarlett's cheek.
But Scarlett, who had been in a daze, suddenly snapped back to reality and forcefully swatted Daniel's hand away.
A crisp sound struck the back of Daniel's hand.
"Get away! I don't need you!"
Scarlett lowered her head, struggling to push herself up from the ground.
She didn't want to show Daniel this miserable state anymore.
But her resistance and rejection made Daniel's heart tighten, and his expression changed several times.
When did she stop relying on him and start pushing him away?
All he knew was that he really hated this feeling—a sense of losing control and panic was slowly growing in his heart.
"You made such a mess, and now you're playing the victim! Don't move!"
Daniel said coldly, slipping his arm under Scarlett's knees and lifting her up.
Her body suddenly lifted off the ground. Scarlett's eyes hurt too much to open, and fear made her instinctively wrap her arms around Daniel's neck, pressing her ice-cold body against his.
Daniel's cold expression softened slightly as he bent down and carried her into the car.
She was too much of a mess.
Her hair and body were completely wet, she was dirty all over, her jeans at the knees were torn and bleeding.
Beneath her messy long hair, her face was pale as a sheet, but her eyes were red and swollen—stubborn yet fragile, so contradictory.
"To the hospital."
Daniel ordered in a deep voice.
The car immediately sped off, and the partition silently rose.
Daniel raised his hand and touched Scarlett's face.
Scarlett couldn't open her eyes, tears flowing uncontrollably, feeling vulnerable and uneasy inside.
When he touched her, she turned her head away awkwardly.
"Still holding a grudge?"
Daniel's movement paused slightly. He knew she was angry that he had left her earlier, not believing her.
A trace of regret flashed across his brow. He hadn't realized at the time that her eyes were really injured.
"How dare I hold a grudge? Isn't that what ungrateful people do? I should just remember the Wilson family's kindness to me."
Scarlett turned her head away and said coldly.
Daniel's fingers were warm, gently smoothing the messy strands of hair by her face, his palm pressing against her cheek.
"Talk properly."
Scarlett kept her face cold, shut her mouth, and twisted her neck again, trying to shake off his hand.
She felt disgusted—he had just been holding Alice.
Had this hand just been stroking Alice's hair and wiping Alice's tears the same way?
She felt Daniel stiffen. He didn't have much patience with her. Scarlett waited for him to lose his temper again and throw her out of the car.
However, the next second.
Daniel's warm, familiar breath suddenly drew near, and a soft kiss landed on Scarlett's forehead.
Gentle, comforting, tender.
Scarlett froze again. Daniel pressed his forehead against hers and sighed softly.
His breath brushed across Scarlett's nose, tickling. He said:
"I was wrong. Don't hold it against me. You're hurt—let me take a look, okay?"
Scarlett couldn't tell if it was her eyes or her heart that hurt more.
Her tears fell like a broken dam, rolling down from beneath her tightly closed lashes, drop by drop landing on the back of Daniel's hand that was touching her face.
Burning hot. Daniel's Adam's apple bobbed—he felt his whole heart trembling and softening from her crying.
"Alright, let me see."
He lifted her chin. Scarlett didn't dodge anymore.
She couldn't refuse the warmth Daniel offered.
He was so bad, so bad—and he knew it.
Scarlett's heart felt sour and swollen as she felt him carefully lean in.
He pressed his thumb against her lower eyelid and used his index finger to gently lift her upper eyelid.
As he leaned in to examine her, Scarlett gradually saw his magnified handsome face through her tear-blurred vision.
She saw his furrowed brow, his worried eyes.
"Looks like some debris got in. Don't move."
Daniel gently blew on Scarlett's lower eyelid twice. Scarlett flinched.
"Some came out. Don't be scared, it'll be fine soon."
He patiently comforted her, blew twice more, wiped away Scarlett's falling tears with his thumb, and dabbed at the debris that had been blown out.
Scarlett closed her eyes. It felt much better. She raised her hand to rub them, but Daniel caught her wrist.
"Your hands are dirty, don't rub."
"It's a bit uncomfortable." Scarlett's lashes trembled violently.
Daniel raised his hand, covering her right eye with his palm and gently rubbing twice.
Scarlett's vision went dark, but her nose was filled with that familiar woody scent.
Pathetically, she still felt safe.
When Daniel released his hand, she leaned back against the seat, almost drowsy.
"Don't rush to open your eyes yet."
Scarlett nodded, then felt Daniel's large hand come to her waist.
Then he seemed to be pulling at her jeans zipper!
"What are you doing?"
Scarlett's hair stood on end instantly as she grabbed his hand.
Daniel paused. "Taking off your pants. I'll treat the wound on your leg."
Scarlett was too embarrassed. Her ears turned slightly red. "No need, it's just a scrape. I'll take care of it when I get back."
Daniel's voice was displeased. "By the time you get back, the wound will be infected!"
Scarlett thought about how she had to see Vivienne the day after tomorrow, and worried that an infected knee would affect her performance.
While she hesitated, Daniel had already forcefully pulled away her hand protecting the zipper.
Daniel looked up at her blushing face and embarrassed expression, and chuckled softly.
"Shy? What part of your body haven't I seen?"
As he spoke, he had already unzipped the zipper and patted her thigh.
"Lift your butt."
Scarlett's face immediately flushed red. Although he had seen her without clothes many times before, having him undress her and take care of her like this seemed to be a first.
In any case, it felt different.
Especially since she couldn't open her eyes, that sense of shame and the awkwardness of being watched by him kept multiplying.
But she still bit the bullet and lifted her hips to let Daniel help her take off her pants.
He lifted both her legs and placed them on his lap, took out a medical kit to clean and bandage the wounds on Scarlett's knees, then helped her put her pants back on.
After getting one pant leg on, Daniel casually looked up and saw Scarlett with her flushed face, biting her lip, looking somewhat awkward and embarrassed.
Her long hair was damp and loose, her eyes tightly closed, lashes trembling, the corners of her eyes tinged red.
She looked incredibly alluring, as if he were touching her intensely, yet he clearly hadn't done anything.
Daniel's eyes darkened, his hand moved, and the pants slipped from his grasp.
Scarlett, with her legs raised, didn't find the pant leg and instead kicked into empty air, landing her foot on Daniel's hard abs.
Under her toes, his lower abdomen tensed instantly.
His large palm was burning hot as it gripped her slender ankle. Scarlett's toes immediately curled up.
And her small movement, in Daniel's eyes, was vivid enough to ignite the wicked fire in his body.
He released his grip on her ankle. Scarlett had just breathed a sigh of relief when Daniel's hot palm slid from her ankle, past her calf, to her thigh, and even more brazenly upward.
Scarlett was about to open her eyes when Daniel's other large palm pressed on her waist, leaning in to whisper in her ear.
"Don't look, just feel."
His voice was too seductive. Scarlett turned her face away.
Daniel's hot lips then kissed her neck, one after another, his burning breath reaching her sensitive spot behind her ear, teasing her.
"Your face is so flushed—what were you just thinking about?"
"Nothing, I wasn't."
Scarlett's face was hot. She shook her head, dodging his touch.
But her red lips accidentally brushed against his Adam's apple, which immediately responded, bobbing once, and a muffled groan escaped from Daniel's throat in the car.
Sexy and alluring. Scarlett froze.
And her bewildered appearance made Daniel's deep eyes fill with affection as he chuckled softly.
"Scarlett, do you like it when I take care of you like I just did?"
