Chapter 188 Please Spare Me
"Daniel, don't let them leave. Make things clear before they go!"
Blair saw Scarlett about to leave and frowned, speaking sternly.
Scarlett only stared at Daniel, her eyes full of mockery.
Daniel's clenched fists tightened even more, then he stepped aside to clear the path.
Ramon guided Scarlett as she brushed past Daniel and took her outside.
"Daniel, how could you...!"
Blair saw him actually let them go and spoke in dissatisfaction.
Before she could finish, Daniel turned around and snatched the long needle from the doctor's hand before it could be put away.
Daniel yanked and bent it hard. The needle tip broke off and pierced his palm.
Daniel gripped the syringe, his force almost crushing it. The extracted liquid mixed with blood from his palm and fell to the floor.
Everything was destroyed.
Blair's eyes widened. She rushed forward anxiously to grab the syringe, crying out.
"Daniel! What are you doing? Didn't you hear what Scarlett just said? She personally..."
"Enough!"
Daniel spoke coldly again, throwing what he held with force.
His voice was like ice, his eyes like sharp blades.
The needle and syringe flew past Blair's ear. Her face turned pale as she covered her ear and cried out.
The doctors and nurses involved stepped back, not daring to breathe.
Daniel's cold eyes swept around the room as he ordered coldly.
"Everyone involved, fired!"
The hospital director had just arrived. Hearing this, he nervously wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and stepped forward.
"Understood, understood."
But the doctors and nurses looked shocked, their faces pale as they protested their innocence.
"Mr. Daniel Wilson! You can't do this. We were just following Mrs. Blair Wilson's orders!"
"Mrs. Blair Wilson is family. She consented to the procedure. I didn't violate any rules!"
"We didn't dare disobey her orders!"
Daniel's expression remained cold, showing no mercy.
He said coldly, "Ignoring the patient's wishes—you call that not violating professional ethics? The Wilson Group's hospital is not some shady clinic!"
Even if Blair used her power to pressure them, doctors should have principles they stand by!
Daniel turned to leave with big strides. One nurse, unwilling to accept this, rushed out and blocked Daniel's path, kneeling on the ground and begging tearfully.
"Mr. Daniel Wilson, my whole family depends on me. It was just an amniocentesis. Mrs. Scarlett Wilson is perfectly fine. You can't do this!"
Daniel looked down at the kneeling nurse, his thin lips curling mockingly.
"Scarlett begged you too, didn't she? When you ignored my wife's screams and laid hands on her, did you show any mercy?"
The nurse was frightened by his icy stare and collapsed on the floor. Daniel lifted his foot and stepped over her without stopping.
Outside the operating room, he ordered, "Take Mrs. Blair Wilson back and watch her!"
Inside the operating room.
After Daniel left, the doctors and nurses came to their senses and rushed at Blair together.
Their careers and futures were ruined, their licenses revoked, and they were kicked out of the hospital. Future employment would be difficult.
They vented all their anger and panic on Blair, surrounding her as they pulled, grabbed, slapped and hit her.
Blair kept screaming.
Scarlett was helped out of the building by Ramon. Outside, the sky had darkened and the cold wind was harsh.
Scarlett was probably a bit traumatized. Her body felt weak and she trembled.
Ramon immediately took off his coat and wrapped it around her, asking carefully.
"Can you hold on? If you're not feeling well, maybe you should stay in the hospital for observation..."
Scarlett gave him a faint smile. "Ramon, I'm fine. I just want to go home. Ramon, did you drive here? Could you please take me back?"
She had no energy to take a taxi, and her bag and phone had been taken by Blair's bodyguards earlier.
"My car's in the parking lot. How about I carry you there?"
Seeing Scarlett's poor condition, Ramon asked tentatively.
Scarlett shook her head. "I can walk."
Seeing her like this, Ramon shook his head. "Better not walk too much. Wait for me."
He let go of Scarlett and hurried off.
He found a wheelchair and was turning around with it when he saw a tall, imposing figure striding quickly toward Scarlett, who was standing there.
Without a word, Daniel bent down and scooped Scarlett up, carrying her away with long strides.
Several bodyguards in black followed closely.
Ramon immediately dropped the wheelchair and rushed over, but Scarlett had already been carried into the car by Daniel and driven away. Only Ramon's coat remained on the ground.
In the car.
Scarlett was placed on Daniel's lap, held around her shoulders and back, in silence.
Scarlett didn't struggle . The spot where the needle had gone in felt strange, though it might have just been psychological.
She was worried about Bunny and didn't dare move around.
The partition was raised. The back seat that used to feel spacious now felt extremely cramped.
Daniel's scent, which used to make Scarlett feel safe, now only made her extremely irritated.
Scarlett struggled a bit. Daniel immediately held her tighter, lowering his head with concern.
"What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable?"
Scarlett looked up, her eyes dull and emotionless, only asking, "Can you let me go now?"
Daniel met her gaze, suddenly unable to breathe.
Daniel raised his hand and covered Scarlett's eyes with one palm, using his other hand to loosen his tie and unbutton two shirt buttons, saying hoarsely, "Don't look at me like that."
Without his arms restraining her, Scarlett immediately moved off Daniel's lap and sat to the side.
She turned to look out the car window, saying coldly, "Take me to Sarah's house. I don't want to go back with you."
Daniel watched Scarlett keeping everyone at arm's length, completely rejecting him, refusing to even look at him. A dark shadow flashed in his eyes.
He suppressed the oppressive emotions in his heart, reaching out to stroke Scarlett's hair, saying gently, "Be good, come back to Regal Estate with me. I..."
He wanted to say he'd already arranged for a private doctor to stay at Regal Estate. Scarlett needed bed rest for the next few days, and under the doctor's care, it would be safer.
If Scarlett went to Sarah's place, he couldn't feel at ease.
However, before he could finish, something he said must have upset Scarlett.
Scarlett's emotions seemed to reach a breaking point. She raised her hand to slap his away, turned back coldly, and said mockingly, "Go back to Regal Estate for what? If you won't take me to Sarah's, then stop the car now! Stop the car!"
Scarlett's emotions suddenly became agitated. She turned and grabbed the car door, pounding on the window.
Daniel frowned hard, worried she'd hurt herself. He reached out and pulled Scarlett back into his arms.
He placed her back on his lap, holding her tightly.
Scarlett's emotions flared up. Extremely annoyed, she struggled on his lap regardless of everything.
Daniel panicked and said in a low voice, "Do you hate me this much?"
"Yes! Let me go. You've already gotten what you wanted. Whether you're doing a paternity test or tissue typing, whatever, I can't resist! Can you please be a good person and just leave me alone for now!"
Daniel listened to her resentful words, his heart sinking like a stone.
Daniel gripped Scarlett's chin firmly, making her face him. His eyes were heavy with darkness as he said hoarsely:
"Scarlett, before you convict me, at least give me a chance to defend myself! Even murderers have the right to prove their innocence. In your heart, am I already beyond redemption?"
