Chapter 554 Mother and Son Reunite
Sabrina's face flushed red with anger as she glared at Sophia. If her hands weren't restrained, she would have rushed forward and clawed Sophia's face.
The police officer frowned and said firmly, "Let's go."
Left with no choice, Sabrina had to follow them out.
She kept telling herself it was okay. Her subordinates would definitely rescue her.
But she never expected to see them again in the police car.
Those who had been hiding near the hotel to protect her were all taken away by the police.
Now Sabrina started to panic, feeling completely lost.
During police questioning, she refused to say anything.
She thought, as long as she stayed firm, what could the police possibly do to her?
But she never imagined that after several interrogations, the police would throw a stack of documents in front of her.
A sense of dread suddenly rose in her heart. She hurriedly picked them up to read.
When she saw what was inside, she froze.
These documents were all about her.
There were records of her adoption from the orphanage.
There were records of her studying abroad under Odette's identity all these years.
And her imprisonment of Odette and identity fraud had been fully exposed.
She could hardly believe it. Her hands trembling as she held the documents.
The interrogating officer said sternly, "We have all the evidence of your crimes. Confess."
Sabrina's mind went blank, with only one thought left. It's over! Completely over!
She asked frantically, "Where did you get these documents? Tell me!"
"No matter where they came from, they can't hide the fact that you committed crimes!"
But Sabrina wouldn't listen, growling in a low voice, "Tell me, was it Alaric? Or that bitch Odette, who gave them to you? Tell me!"
The interrogating officers looked at each other, then silently shook their heads.
This woman has really lost it!
......
After Sabrina was taken away by the police, the party ended too.
With such a big incident, there was no way the celebration could continue.
After leaving the banquet hall, Alaric looked at Sophia: "Sophia, Emilio's mother is seriously injured and still in the hospital. Can you come with me to see her?"
Sophia nodded slowly, "Okay, I really want to meet Emilio's mother too."
She heard she looked exactly like Sabrina.
Benjamin helplessly took Sophia's hand, "I'll go with you guys."
So they appeared at the hospital where Odette was.
Whether in build or appearance, all three of them were striking.
Their presence together attracted countless eyes.
But Alaric couldn't care about anything else. Holding Emilio in his arms, he strode toward the hospital room.
Sophia and Benjamin looked at each other, a smile flashing in their eyes.
They had never seen Alaric this nervous about any woman.
Although they couldn't tell Alaric's feelings for Odette, Odette was undoubtedly special to Alaric.
Odette lay in a hospital bed, feeling hopeless about life.
Emilio's image kept echoing in her mind.
If her body weren't so weak, she would have gone to find Alaric immediately to ask him the truth.
She wanted to know if Emilio was really her child.
Just then, someone knocked on the hospital room door. Odette turned to look and saw Alaric appear with Emilio.
Her eyes lit up, and she suddenly sat up in bed.
Emilio nervously tugged at Alaric's clothes, suddenly feeling anxious.
He was afraid Odette wouldn't like him.
Alaric gently touched his little head, looking at him with encouraging eyes.
Before they could speak, Odette hurriedly climbed out of bed and stumbled toward Emilio.
"W-what's your name?"
When she had just woken up earlier, her head was still fuzzy, and she hadn't had time to ask the child's name.
"My name is Emilio," Emilio answered honestly.
Odette kept murmuring this name, tears falling uncontrollably.
Emilio.
Emilio...
This was her child, she was sure of it!
This had to be her child!
Seeing her expression, Alaric guessed it too.
He took out the DNA test report from his pocket and handed it to Odette.
"Here, take a look."
Odette wiped away her tears, looking at him in confusion.
Alaric said nothing and handed the paternity test report to her.
Odette curiously opened it to look, then suddenly froze.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. Her hands trembling, she reached out to touch Emilio's face.
But halfway there, she carefully pulled her hand back.
"Emilio, I, I'm your mother, I..."
Compared to her incoherence, Emilio was much happier.
He joyfully threw himself into Odette's arms, "Mom, are you really my mother? You do like me, right?"
His mother definitely didn't mean to abandon him!
Alaric said he was so good that no one would dislike him!
So his mother definitely didn't mean to abandon him!
Feeling the soft Emilio in her arms, Odette's heart was both painful and excited.
She carefully held Emilio in her arms, tears gushing out like a fountain.
Sophia and Benjamin, standing outside the hospital room, saw this scene, their hearts full of emotion.
Benjamin heard her sigh, his lips curving slightly as he pulled her into his arms.
"Everything will get better. Alaric isn't a cold and heartless person; he'll handle everything well."
Sophia nodded, "I trust Alaric."
She just felt Odette was a bit pitiful.
Odette had suffered so much since childhood. Later, she fell in love, but then inexplicably had sex with Alaric, and because Alaric was the man Sabrina liked, she was hated by Sabrina for it.
Fortunately, Emilio was still alive.
She believed everything would get better and better.
Benjamin and Sophia didn't disturb them. After Emilio and Odette exchanged pleasantries, Benjamin and Sophia walked in.
Sophia examined Odette's body and said, "Your body is very weak and needs good care. Stay in the hospital for a while longer for observation."
Alaric and Emilio nodded. Emilio's eyes were full of worry.
He carefully called out "Mom," and Odette's tears, which had just stopped, surged out again.
Odette smiled and shook her head, rubbing the top of his head: "Mom is fine."
Being able to meet her son again was the luckiest thing in her life.
But... she still didn't know how Alaric truly felt about her.
She was afraid Alaric would take Emilio away.
Losing something after getting it back was more heartbreaking than never having it at all.
Alaric seemed to see what she was thinking and cleared his throat. "Rest well, I'll bring Emilio to see you often."
Although he had no feelings for Odette, she was Emilio's biological mother after all.
Until Odette's health recovered, he would fulfill the responsibility of taking care of Odette on Emilio's behalf.
As for his feelings for Odette, he had never thought about it.
He was doing fine alone now and didn't need to deliberately change anything for Emilio.
He didn't know that in the near future, he would find his current thinking ridiculous.
After Sophia and Benjamin left the hospital, they didn't immediately get in the car to leave, but walked hand in hand along the roadside.
Half an hour later, the first thing she did when she got home was destroy the formula Lowell had given her.
Everything started because of this formula.
Too many children's lives had been sacrificed because of this formula.
She didn't want such things to happen again.
And Elijah probably didn't expect that the formula recorded on it also had serious side effects.
Sophia tore the paper into pieces, lit a lighter, and burned the pile of paper scraps into ashes.
Watching the gradually disappearing flames, Sophia's heart was full of sorrow.
Benjamin hugged her from behind and comforted her in a low voice: "It's all over. We can finally live normal lives."
"Yes." Sophia nodded with a smile. "Actually, it's not much for us. I just don't want our children to be harmed because of this formula."
"They won't be. I'll protect our baby, and I'll protect you too."
Benjamin lowered his head and gently kissed her cheek.
For the rest of his life, Benjamin kept the promise he made today with his actions.
